@@ryreads the end of her is really good too . The only ones I didn’t love ( but are still really good) are an unwanted guest and the last one everyone here is lying.. I really did not like that little girl lol , I picked up pretty early on what was happening.
New to your channel and I am very impressed by your short summary and very to the point, (without spoiler) review. I'm currently listening to the audio and find it very engaging. The narrator's voices are very good. I've learned that the narrator's voice(s) can make or break a good story. Thank you for an excellent review. I've liked and subscribed to your channel.
Thank you so much for stopping by and thank you for the compliment. And for sure, usually if I don't like a narrator but I can tell I would like the story, I instantly switch to a different format. I'm glad the audio of this is good, that's good to know if I ever reread it!
I have read and own every book by Shari . She’s my fav author by far , the style and theme of her writing is exactly my vibe , I haven’t found a similar. I wait every year for the new one in July . Just picked it up today . Can’t wait to start it tonight !
@@ryreads one thing I can say I love is how she has the character breakdown pages to refer to if needed .. I had to go back to be like wait who’s Paula to this story again .. I really liked that! :)
Great review. I will definitely read this though I've heard mixed comments. I've read most of Lepena's books and liked them all. All 4 to 5 stars. I agree that it is more interesting when an author leaves the reader some room to figure things out herself. BTW-in a previous video you mentioned By Any Other Name by Jodi Picoult. I LOVED it. She's my all time favorite author in terms of her topics and writing skill. I plan to re-read her backlist. That says something since I never re-read books.
I hope you enjoy it when you get to it. I can see why it's hit or miss for some people but I personally really enjoyed it. And Jodi Picoult is one I really hope to read her backlist of too!!
OK, that settles it. I will get it. I’m trying to remember the one she wrote right before that one because I’m not sure if I read the one before that one do you know the name of the one before the one you’re talking about.
Thanks for the video. I have listened to three Shari Lapena audiobooks so far. I bought 4 when Audible had a half price sale. I liked Not a Happy Family the best. I wasn’t happy with The End of Her because one of the main female characters was so weak and wouldn’t stand up for herself as much as I wanted her to do so. I didn’t like Someone We Know possibly because I didn’t like the narrator, but I also felt the main female character was portrayed as wimpy. I didn’t feel like the teenagers were portrayed realistically. I still have one more book to listen to: Everyone Here Is Lying. I hope it’s good. I totally respect that other people may like these books more than I did. I’m not sure if I will buy her new book. Thanks again for the video.
I also get frustrated when characters don't stand up for themselves. I mean I get it, depending on the context then a time comes where you're like PLZ do something. Sounds like we have a similar taste in books. Given what you've said, I think there is a chance you will like this one, however, maybe borrow it from somewhere?
I have read all of Shari Lapena's books. My favorite is Not a Happy Family. I wish there was a sequel!
I need to give that one a try!

I have yet to read a Shari Lapena but I really need to!
I think you might like this one!
All of her books could easily be a movie in my opinion ! I love her books!
This one would make a great movie, I hope you enjoy it.
@@ryreads I’m flying through it , already on chapter 10. I’m really liking it so far ! Thanks :)

Love this quick video full of recommendations!! So glad I found your channel! It seems like we could have some overlap in book taste. Thank you!!
Thank you so much! Glad it's been helpful :)
I love all of Shari Lapena's books! Very excited to read this new one! Sounds like another "Lovely Bones."
Oh yes I can see the connection.

Thanks for reviewing. I wanted to know one another thing. Is the audiobook of Dead Girls Talking good?
I’m not sure I didn’t listen to the audio of that one, I read it on kindle!
@@ryreads oh, okay. Thanks for replying.

Have you read "The Maid?" If so I'm curious to hear your opinion.
I haven’t but I will write it down :)
I had never read any books by this author, but I really enjoyed the book. It was interesting and it kept me guessing the whole time.
Yes I agree!!! This was a well crafted mystery! I’m glad you enjoyed it :)

I've never heard of that one, will add it to my list! Thanks for mentioning it.
