That's the mentality of people who have played Smash Bros. and couldn't keep up with it, or someone who hasn't played it at all. It was made to be a party game, but it is one of the most competitive, unique, and greatest fighting games (as long as we are talking about Super Smash Bros. Melee.) As far as Brawl goes competitively, it looks like it's going down the tubes.
Oh those were the times where Strider Hiryu was a God on this game he was easily the best and coolest he could do a simple combo chaining all of his hypers and more importantly he even could go against variable hyper combos with ease as seen on this video where the opponent does the variable then Strider counters with Ouroboros the opponent can't do nothing but block low that was beautiful Strider is the best character ever I hope & pray he'll be on MVC3
@Kamukix i agree that 99 hit infinites are pretty cheap but the guy made it cool with variety and messed up a couple times which was the opponent's chance to try something. MvC2 is also a great game with infinites but in that game its more about resets for characters like magneto but iron man has an infinite into super then he can DHC to kill a character and then be tagged back in for a guard crush...broken but guard crushes can be stopped(very hard tho)

I can't stand when I see a great game ruined by someone abusing a ridiculous glitch instead of actually fighting the way it was intended. Why? Because he was playing to win? If he can do the infinite combos and they help him to win, he would be stupid not to use them. They're a part of the game. If you can't handle that, I would advise you to stay away from any kind of high level play because you would just get owned.
I would've ate War Machine with Cap. His air juggle has flaws were you can block. Then i'd stars and stripes him mid air and juggle him instead. Since this is part 1 Captain America was DEADLEY at least when i used him.

I mean from a game design perspective. They shouln't have made it possible to do infinite combos in the first place. there should have been something to balance it out like some kinda counter or something. To me its seems kinda broken:P
@classicalmix I liked Ryu in this game tge best. When you can swith between ken and Akuma, thats overkill. I use to swith so much, people didnt really know how to fight. You come in close, i switch to Ken and uppercut you to death. try to run and I switch to Akuma and shadow kick u across the map.
