Hello friends. *If you think about it for a moment, a Sunday law could never be enforced* . First of all there are not enough policemen and military personnel in the United States to go into every single home (or cabin or tent in the middle of nowhere) and make sure that no one is *"working on Sundays"* , and then somehow insist and force all citizens, illegals, visitors and even atheists, to actually engage and precipitate in *"worshipping God" on Sundays* . It is impossible to make another person "worship", especially someone who doesn't even believe in God. Also do you seriously think that the world's 1.9 BILLION Muslims would ever agree to switch from worshipping on their holy day (Fridays) and swap it out to Sundays all because the Pope and the *APOSTATE* Protestants desperately desire such a thing? Would all the Hindus, Buddhists, Taoists and ALL of the rest of the world religions ever submit to do such a thing? I think not, and we have proof that they would resist. The entire world witnessed the great difficulty the United States had in trying to control the tiny nation of Afghanistan from 2001 to 2021. After futilely attempting to maintain control over that nation, the United States left in defeat. If the United States cannot even maintain order in this one small nation, then how is it going to control the entire world? Secondly, the law enforcement personnel themselves would be breaking the very law they are trying to enforce by engaging in work themselves on that very day that people are supposedly demanded to rest on. *Thus any enforcement of the Sunday law would actually be self-defeating* . (Again, having personnel work on Sunday to make sure others DON'T work on Sunday would be a complete contradiction to the law itself). This whole Sunday law premise is entirely illogical, and yet most Adventists never seem to question, review or ask how this doctrine would ever be implemented, administered or enforced. Adventists don't think critically when it comes to the Sunday law. They just accept it as fact and expect others to agree with them. SDAs, please do your due diligence and look at each the counterarguments against the notion of the Sunday law. I mentioned this before. There is a free online book entitle *_National Sunday Law: Fact or Fiction?_* by Dirk Anderson which gives a number of such counterarguments. Educated Adventists should all know what these objections are. Please my Adventist friends, do not be in fear of other Christians who mean you no harm. The Bible is completely silent about such a concept. Therefore I can confidently state that it is not going to happen. You asked me to promise to keep the Sabbath if *these things begin to come to pass* . All I can say is "not a problem". I myself kept the Sabbath for many years and it was no big deal at all to put down my plow and get all the ducks lined up before sunset on Fridays, and then to continue on maintaining that same rest from work for a period of 24 hours. In fact not working the Sabbath was great, and going to church was great! It was no skin off my back at all to keep the Sabbath, just as I am sure it is no big deal for you either, especially if you live in an Adventist community where everybody does this. So for SDAs to suggest we are just trying to avoid Sabbath keeping is just a myth. (Again, Sabbath keeping is easy). Why the Adventist thinks that this will somehow be a big sacrifice one day is mysterious, especially because keeping the Sabbath doesn't rid us from other sins that really hound us. What is hard to do is to live a life free of the real sins that dog every Christian at one time or another. Lust, anger, pride and all the other sins that are "common to man" and these are the things that make a man (or woman) spiritually unclean and separate us from God. Given that these sins are much harder to control than merely resting for a period of 24 hours once a week, shouldn't we ask why God wouldn't make some "final end time test" for each one of them? What makes the Sabbath so special when it can't save you from these other sins that tempt us? Sins that really try to separate us from our communion with Christ. Contrast the notion of the Sunday law with the teachings of Jesus and the Apostles who never describe the Sabbath as a "final test" of any kind. Jesus is very explicit as to what the "final test" is. In fact, in one of His greatest sermons to His disciples he explains precisely what the *"final test"* will be: Matthew 25:32-36 _"Everyone on earth will be gathered before Him, and He will separate whose who are genuinely His from those who are not, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats during shearing time. He will call the sheep to His right and the goats to His left. Then He will say to those on His right, 'You are God's children because you are so much like Him. Come! It's time for you to receive you inheritance. You have cared about others, which shows that you care about me. When others were thirsty, you gave them water. When they were hungry, you gave them food, and when they were without a place to live, you took them in. When they had nothing suitable to wear, you gave them clothes. When they were sick, you visited and comforted them, and when they were in jail, you didn't forget them"_ Notice that Jesus didn't say, "You are God's children because you went to church on Saturday and judged those who went to church on Sunday. No. The Sabbath has never been a test for gentile Christians and it never will be. The final test will be whether or not a person has the unselfish and loving character of Jesus Christ. God is no respecter of men. Therefore there is no special "end time generation" that gets to have a special test that nobody else is responsible for. A test that doesn't even get to the root cause of our sinful nature and help abate the real sin in our lives. Again, it is the sins that are "common to man" that are the things that we all will each be tested on in the course of our lives. Not weathering through some Sunday law at the end of time.
