  • Jordan Walker Ross plays Little James in The Chosen, but his disability in the show is no act. Born with cerebral palsy and scoliosis, Jordan has sometimes questioned God just like his character. But in this video he answers, “If you had the opportunity to be healed this very moment, would you?” and it may surprise you.

I enjoy the show, but I realized there is something you may want to address. Matthias was said to have accompanied Jesus from the time of his baptism through the ascension, and he replaced Judas as an apostle. You might consider somehow writing Matthias into the show to be consistent with the Biblical narrative.
God Bless your work and those whom it reaches!

When me and my mom both saw this scene in theaters, we were both touched by it. Being someone born with conditions like ADHD, Autism, mild Celebral paulsy, hydropcephulas, etc. It was hard at a young age to learn how God could use me for his glory and honor. But PRAISE GOD I am currently a sophomore in college studying Theology and wanting to use my degree to show people how God can do ANYTHING and use ANYONE

Amen!! :) You are truly a blessing. A friend of mine used to say over and over and over again to me “You’re a blessing and not a burden”. And after many years of satan trying to use people to make me believe I was a burden, that broke through, and I still hear his voice in my head sometimes. satan knows we are actually powerful BECAUSE of what God has allowed and is doing through us, so he wants to stop us by trying to convince us we aren’t a blessing. he is a liar. We are a blessing, because of God! Amen! SO grateful for God and for you! Much love to you! :)

I cry every time I see this scen. Having CP I can relate to everything he has said. Dallas choosing him for this role is a life changing experience for him & others. He's right, finding acceptance of himself & sharing with others opens doors & heals wounds you don't even know you have, because you've hidden them so long. Thank you for this - it reminds me & inspires me to share "my gift" with others & be proud of who I am just as I am.

Mr. Ross, don't you EVER let others determine YOU. That one scene was so impactful for me (60 and feeling like I'm falling apart). I want to be healed and pain-free, but know I am exactly how I am for a reason. The whole cast has been so inspirational. Please don't ever stop because you just don't know who you are actually reaching. May God continue to bless you as you bless others through your "acting" (you're a natural and it isn't acting). Thank you.

This is my all-time favorite scene followed closely by the scene in Clean where the woman was healed by touching Jesus' robe. I suffered with illness for several years, and so the woman's story in the Bible has always resonated with me. I prayed for healing, and it was a long time coming. Her faith was uplifting for me. My healing came in the form of an ostomy, which was NOT my idea of healing. However, it saved my life. This is where the scene with Jesus and Little James' comes to be my favorite scene of the show. This scene was so so so so powerful to me. God uses our weaknesses! He is our strength when we have none! Thank you for this scene. I cried like a baby when I first saw it. I get goose bumps every time I rewatch it. God is so good! All the time! Thank you!

Little James’s condition makes the series feel more homie too, because it’s real. It’s human. What’s more human than struggle? I love that they don’t portray these perfect people with the perfect looks because that’s not whom the disciples were. I love the honesty in the frustration and the anger because it’s human! I have those moments with God myself and my Lord never turns His face from me when I am upset with Him. What Father abandons His kids because they’re angry at them?? None! We have all been frustrated with our parents at some point and God is no different. We just have to look past and through the anger and frustration and remember that He is still God and that no matter what is happening, we are His and He is ours and nothing will separate us from each other ❤

God has really been faithful to me and I was very impacted to watch this scene with Little James and Jesus in season three. Thank you so much Jordan. Yes, I have noticed you from the beginning and admired your abilities and courage, especially during the times disabilities were brought to the front. I've had "invisible" inabilities for years but have started using a service dog in the last year. This has brought many different attitudes and perspectives into the forefront; at times I was to the point of not wanting to be in public with her [which highlights my inabilities]. But she has a purpose and it gives me more freedom to handle life with her by my side. God has used many situations to show me how He is using my 30+ yr missionary journey, with inabilities and abilities, to empower others to walk with courage, in spite of problems. At times, it is tiring...and then I see His glory in it all. I say, YES LORD, use all that I am and all that I'm not, to bring Christ to others!

You Jordan gave us a stunning performance which I saw had so much of your personal influence, & touched me in a way I can't believe. The Chosen has touched me in many ways in my life but having my own physical ailment, which hinders my ability for doing things, has a new light because of you sharing your struggles. I've had a long-standing nuisance medical issue that doctors have never been able to figure out. I used to get angry while I prayed for healing. I still pray for healing. But God has been healing me in a more important way: I've been learning to lean on God and include Him more in my life. I've a desire to be close to God and to accept His will that I never had in all the decades of my life. This has given me peace and even feelings of gratitude.

Thank you so much, Jordan for this! I was born with a cyst in my spinal cord and as a result am paralyzed from the waist down and have scoliosis. I too had to have a spinal fusion at a young age (8). Unfortunately my fusion didn’t hold though and my rod broke and so I had to undergo a second fusion when I was 11. There was no medical explanation for this and for the next two years I was angry with God. When I was 13, I began to realize that God allowed me to born with a disability for a reason; that He would use me for something great if I would just trust Him. Since then I have seen how my disability is really a gift and has given me so many opportunities to impact others. At 33, I still don’t fully know why God allowed me to be born with my disability and I may never know this side of heaven. However I’ve also learned that all I need to do is trust Him and He will use me for His glory!!

Today I cried sooo much, giving thanks to our Lord for your life. He didn’t heal you for He had an eternal purpose, for His glory. My little granddaughter, my only one was born premature and had cerebral palsy. She went to stay with the Lord when she was 11. The Lord chose not to heal her. I am so thankful He chose you to give others hope, confidence through your life. Thanks to God for your life. Glory to His name. Thanks to brother Dallas for the show that has made us become closer to the reality of the Word in our lives. We have a completely different view of the Gospels. I know this is true for many Christians and non-believers. We needed this for the times we are living nowadays. Love you my dear brother. Elsy González.

That was one of the most powerful, impactful scenes I've seen on screen.
I've lived with infertility for 17 years and the heartache and pain has at times been almost unbearable. Remembering that He is with us in our pain brings the greatest blessings. He so often uses our pain and story for His glory and to bless others. He also shows us His love and Grace through the most difficult time and struggles in our lives. I've certainly seen that more times than I can count.
I'm really thankful The Chosen created this scene. While it may not be in the Bible, the understanding of suffering it provides is very Biblical.
To hear Jordan lives with that particular disability himself makes it even more impactful. I can only imagine the deep emotions he was feeling throughout.

I relate to Little James the most! I have been confined to my home for over a decade due to a devastating and extremely painful Neurological Wasting Disease. The scene in 2 by 2, where James asks Jesus why he hasn't healed him was a scene I needed to see, I HAD TO SEE! I swear to be patient in my suffering because I will live in Heaven for eternity!

I really appreciate your terrific contribution to The Chosen, through your acting and encouraging others. I thoroughly enjoy your podcast and the title is so apt because it is true we all have a limp. Your story will continue to have a great impact on so many. Thank you, Jordan.

Such a beautiful moment in time! Too make it easier for others with a disability and that is a gift so much more than words can say because you can reach out to someone who has a common of self worth and insecurity in life! It only takes one person to believes in you and understand what you are going through to make it a little bit better!!! Just knowing that can change a person outlook on life! Lift up and support love is the key ! God bless all!!!

Love this! Thank you so much for sharing your journey. I love that you said our differences can be a super power to use in God’s work. You are certainly showing one way to do that. In my experience, many of the hard things we experience become blessings if we look at them through this lens! Thank you for demonstrating that.
My husband also has a limp from a disability, and our kids, like yours, think it would be weird if their dad walked ‘normally.’ His perseverance in his disability inspires me to be strong and keep moving forward when my life is hard.

So this was such a moving and so touching scene. I got teary eyed watching. I was watching with my sister with mental and some physical disabilities. Sometimes, I don't think she is picking up what we're watching, as she goes off in the Spectrum. But when it finished of this scene, oh she loved it and said "how pretty!" My sister is a very devoted Catholic and her rosary to our Lady of Guadalupe is who she intercedes to. It helps her fight the demons in her head. She is schizophrenic, and then some.

I connect with his story so much!!! People don't tease me about my disability (I have the exact same physical disability), but I still feel the hard times. I felt God speaking to me in love.

It was the most beautiful scene. It's for sure my favorite one yet and seeing Jonathan talking as Jesus, telling little James he's not a burden at all, made me love Jesus even more. I cried so much, I felt ashamed for beeing ungratefull to God this whole time. I wanna thank The Chosen team for showing me that. :)

Gracias x tu testimonio.

This scene is the most impactful it’s stuck out to me and just seeing his perspective is the actor coming to this conclusion help me because I have been in those dark places before upset and angry wondering when am I going to be healed and I saw the scene and it brought me to tears because sometimes you feel like What’s wrong with you will define your story And who you are because most people look at the outward appearance and they judge For so long I would hide I was depressed and I felt alone in my struggle I knew who to turn to but my mind was so clouded and I was so overwhelmed by my situation and I didn’t remind myself of who God is in my life and what he can do he is still the God of Wonders Jehovah Rapha Jehovah Nissi and Jehovah Shalom.

@Jordan Ross, I grew up with CP as well. The bullying is horrible especially at middle school. Just so you you are not alone. I became an artist. I found my people later in life. I like how they approach the curiosity, without alienation.

Thank you. I love that scene. I have been sick all my life, and doctors can't find a specific diagnosis, and it seems that as I get older, my buddy is getting worse. I realized that I need to live with all my "illness" that they are real and won't be hiel in this life. ❤

I was born with some birth defects that were obvious immediately and some began to show up when puberty began (scoliosis) and I am now 69 and I am experiencing some things that aging is creating so seeing this episode from the perspective of Jesus really has been powerful. What I see as a handicap is a good tool in His Hands. I identify with Lilith/ Mary and, now, Little James and I am very thankful for the whole Chosen family.

I was born with cerebral palsy also but grew out of it it affected my left side. However as grew old I have become handicapped again and I struggle with dealing with my limitations while praying for others to be healed. I relate to you feeling pain but still having faitb and determination to follow. I do watch the healing at the pool often though because I believe in healing I really do. It makea me hope and cry every time.
