Glad ya had a quick and fun brewday. I brewed a winter warmer recently for a homebrew club competition in December. I'm like you with my extra hops, I've got alot too. 😆 cheers 🍻 👏 ✌️
Cheers Finn, glad you had a great brewday 👍 i myself had a great brewday 2 weeks ago and yesterday for the 1st time drain poured the FV, made a starter and didn't treat my tap water and oh my the chlorine came through in the FV in aroma and taste, my mistake but a frustrating one 👍
Oh no, that's a bugger. I often forget things like that ans i need to bring back the brew day check sheet. We have only had chlorine since the earthquakes but fortunately it not much but still needs treating. Cheers mate.
I like fuggles! Beer looks great! 👍 love messing with my water profiles… so interesting… PH definitely important, no doubt! Great hops there! Thinking about getting US - 04 and US - 05 just to have some on hand in case I ever need yeast… like if I ever wanted to do a smash or somethin with stuff layin around around…great you hit your OG 👍 cheers mart! Happy brewin!
Ay up Finnroo great catch up I love your chats to camera. Record brew day for time fantastic, I’m terrible for making it up as I go along recording is great advice indeed. I did a motueka SMASH and I got loads of tobacco from it and really enjoyed the beer. Cheers from over the pond 👍🍻
Good job on the brewing front, Im getting to think it might be that i have done my last brew for the year, getting old and getting cold in the garage aint fun anymore. Yopur right about making time for yourself and get some breakfast down. Cheers Finn. 7% Phew
Yeah i know, the reason for the very low gravity FG would have been my drop in mash temp. Its strong and wont be silly about it. Come winter ill be brewing kits inside in the kitchen lol. Cheers Mark
Nice that your getting in brew days , I need to brew soon hope this weekend . I ordered some things and will write some recipe with the wife and then brew it. Cheers
Great chat, mate. Glad the brew day went well and that you’re looking after yourself. I love the information about water chemistry. That’s something I’d really like to explore if/when I move away from kits. Do you use much EKG or do you prefer using your home grown Fuggles? Cheers!
I only grow enough fuggles and cascade for a couple of brews and its well worth it. I love EKG hops for sure. I will use different hops from time to time and as you can see got alot to use up. Moutere is also a firm favorite. Cheers mate.
@@hefsbeerreviews4127 High alpha acid but also a great grapefruit rine and aroma. I use it in my dark and it works very well. Not traditional but i really like it. Cheers Hef
Good catch up! I prefer West Coast yeast like US-05 and BRY-97 for ales because it gets out of the way and lets the ingredients shine through, whether you're doing a hoppy or malty or balanced beer. Although I did recently use S-04 in the Toast Pale Ale I brewed based on Hop Cartel's recipe, since that's what it called for. Glad to hear your latest brewday went well. Looking forward to seeing the final result. Cheers mate 🍺🍻
Yes , its a good solid work horse for sure. I dont mind 04 infact i have a pack i need to use at some point. Yeah a good brew day. Cheers mate, hope your well.
Awesome brew day 👌 keep up the great work 🙂🖐️
Cheers mate, good to get that one wrapped up. Thanks for watching.

@ I don’t think I’ve ever had a beer that uses Moutere hops. I’ll have to check them out.
