On the new X3 i hate the electric car design language because i just hate electric cars. On the exterior(front and back only) i give it 5/10. Interior 9/10, drivetrain 10/10. Given opportunity, I would still choose the outgoing X3 20d ///M sport and ///M40i. Good review bro. Thanks.
Great first impression review and congrats for being the 1st in the country. Looks great to me, adequate power, interior looks solid buuut! I know I'm not comparing like-for-like here, id take my 1.2 bar and get an Everest Platinum. As much as im an avid BMW fan but its a miss on price. and thats 1.2 on the Vanilla version, imagine the spicy one🤐
As an owner of the 520d I approve that small engine in that body is strong in many ways and performs véry well and it's light on fuel cos I easily do 1000kms in one full tank. And driving at 120kms/h constantly increases that range.
The thing that put me off buying this was that the plastics and cloth made the interior feel very cheap. Well built but felt cheap to touch. Otherwise what a beautiful car this is, the drive was also good as you'd expect. Great first impressions review Kumbi
Agree with your assessment, back looks awesome but the front still grows on me. The alloys is not my choice. I love the iDrive controller but have to get used to the gear shift switch. Love your review!
The problem is that I'm a BMW super fanboy so there's no way that id look at this car and say its not beautiful. As for the diffuser its there for aesthetics and it doesn't have to be accompanied by the exhaust pipes,its just that we listened too much on the European car journalists that always acts as if they know better than the designers of the car. Some diffusers weren't meant for dynamics but for added overhaul looks of the vehicle,so there's no need at all to feel otherwise only because we've heard the so called car journalists feom abroad.
That's not a diffuser........it;s just part of the rear bumper. Diffuser is something totally different with a specific function in terms of a car's aerodynamics!
You don’t mention anything about the excessive use of cheap and plastic materials in the cabin. BMW is taking short cuts. The door handles are terrible including the panel to the control the air vents. There is a lot of plastic on the door panels. Car looks super outside - inside you can feel the cheap materials. For this price point - you would expect better quality materials. I saw and drove the new X3 M50 in the USA a few weeks back.
One of the biggest disappointment with this car, is that big non-opening glass roof and some choice of material use is bit plastic. Anyway Good review.
Hayi personally the front and rear are grotesque. I hate that electric car designs made manufacturers think that all cars should look like this. Everything on this car is chunky and nothing about it says “luxury” to me. The brand identity is fading with the drastic change in the headlight design. I have no doubts about drive quality and performance but the exterior?! Its a no from me
