How about making the players fulfill their obligations for the ENTIRE season, including bowl games and playoffs? If they’re getting paid, that should be an obligation.
@ I’m all for the players having control over their destiny and financial futures. There’s a lot of money at stake now for the players, which is great. But you don’t see professional players opting out of playoff games because they’re gonna be free agents at the end of the season.
These are student athletes. Not professionals. They have the right to leave whenever they'd like. Breaking some kind of NIL contract might have predetermined financial consequences, but it's absolutely absurd to suggest that they HAVE to stay on the team.
When Marshall brings in the kind of money those other schools bring in let me know and we can have that conversation. It's okay to not like the fact that money is all that matters but it IS all that matters.
As a die hard Nittany Lions 🦁 fan, I totally agree with you buddy, it's the ridiculous way this transfer portal bullshit works and timing of it!!! WE ARE
@@kevinchandler179 PENN STATE!!!! Agreed, something needs to change - it's not fair to the student athletes - at least change the timing. College Football is getting ruined by the NIL and the transfer portal rules.
Imagine having a shot to win a Natty and saying, "No that is okay I have better things to do.". Opening the portal before the end of the playoff season does not seem good for college football's popularity
Respect the Ducks, obviously as a die hard Nittany Lions 🦁 fan, we are meeting up again in the national title game, hopefully a different result though 🙏!!!! WE ARE
This is the problem with opening the transfer portal nearly immediately after the regular season is over. Changes need to be made with the portal. One of two options should be done to make the changes. One option is to not open the transfer portal until after the bowl games or the playoffs,. The other option is to open the portal like they do now, but require the players entering the portal to remain with the team that they are leaving until after bowl games or playoff games are over.
One of these days someone with a brain will take over the NCAA commisioning. I think someone should do an EEG to check them for brain activity. I’m pretty sure it’s flatlining.
Used to love betting parley cards college and pro football, made games more fun. Until saw a pro game, QB dove for a fumble , his fumble a yard away, must have not known moved camera angle shortly before. Never bet since.
if a player enters the portal but doesn't enroll elsewhere that player can still play at the school he's transferring from until the season is over, right?
Another point of view might be that a lesser team may figure they will pull an upset and thus get a shot in the arm in recruiting the next season. The lesser bowls just got a smidgen more interesting, right? A team that figured to lose and finish 7-7, wins the upset over a bigger named team and goes 8-6.
Pribula leaving worries me. It could me a lot or it may mean nothing. PSU does have a quality backup in true freshman Ethan Grunkemeyer but that would be a lot of pressure on him if he needs to take over in a playoff game. WE ARE
Bama guy: dude this type thing has about turned me totally off of college football..ridiculous, no reason for it..its a simple fix but the ADs, Univ Pres, HCs DO NOT want to fix it, for some reason the WANT the chaos..I don't get it..when players leave you dont get the true teams, you get whats left..until they do NFL type contracts, salary caps, stricter rules im done with it..we fans should organize a '"no watch strike" until this is addressed..
As for the Penn State situation: This is why Michigan didn’t do so well this year because they were on the path of winning the national championship and when they won it- the transfer portal was closed. Thus, Ohio State was able to pour money into the transfer portal and tried to beat Michigan- well you know what happened there. GO BLUE!
What is bullshit, is the way this transfer portal and timing works??? I understand Beau, but why can't the NCAA change the timing, my Nittany Lions are losing a key player going into the playoffs, because of their incompetent rules!!!! WE ARE, still going to the national title game against the Ducks in a rematch!!!
When Indiana gave Coach C his new contract, was it the the next game they lost to Ohio State? If so let’s hope that curse follows the Notre Dame team 😊
And don't think so, you don't know much about people and $, any player finishing game, then goes to portal, you can bet he got paid bigtime to finish that game, or was love for their university ?
Pretty clickbaity there.... Lol! 😜 If the quarterback just needs to go out a little bit.. or even in a worse situation.... They probably would just line up the tight end!
Why in the heck is the portal even open right now. fix it NCAA or can you?? you seam to keep letting men play against women and taking their sport away from them. Get real and man up!

They can put a contingency in the contracts.
I'd like to see the transfer portal to not be open until the season is over

What team use's a player who doesn't want to be on the team?
Why would any team want a player that abandons their team mates? @@DuckRon626

Go Ducks 🦆🦆🦆
Quack, quack! 🦆🏈🦆
Wanna see Ducks beat up on PSU again in the Playoffs. That Team Out West, is the only undefeated team in the country. #1 & #1 seed🎉
❤🎉Go Ducks🎉❤
You aint gotta worry about it Buckeyes are gonna spank you in the 🌹 bowl game kidd@@alapaticornell4391
Ohio State can get a rule changed in a week, but Marshall gets cheated out of a bowl pay. And no one blinks an eye. THINGS NEED TO CHANGE.

Just another thing the NCAA gets wrong 🙄
Coaches leave players for a better job all the time.
You play with what you got. Simple, you win or lose with the players on the field. No excuses.

Michigan guy here, hoping the Hoosiers pull it off, I say 31-21
Me too. Tired of ND fans snotty attitudes.
I'm torn.
I too am a UM fan that always cheers for the B1G (except for that one team of course) but my Dad is a die hard Golden Domer.
The latest mid season change was in like 3 or 4 days. No more 12 men penalty runoff.
The college football world can turn on a dime when Ohio State has a grievance.
🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆 go ducks!
Careful as you brag. Your team is not winning past the Rose bowl
Not bragging just supporting my team 😅

Don't steep on Penn St. They gave us quite a game! Would love to see a rematch

Expect players worth a bunch of $ to fake injuries during playoff games.
