Not only the raga's. The bgm is ditto NAVARASAM which is released 5 years ago.. Actually they're asking you just to give credits, and rishab itself agreed in a particular interview that NAVARASAM inspired him.. Then why can't you give credit. Actually Thaikkudam bridge has approached team kanthara n asked to give just a credit.but they're not ready to give credits. So court is only the remaining options for them n they filed case.. That's it..Bcoz they took an effort years ago

Those who says the people noticed Navarasam song only because of Varaharoopam. AR Rahman has shared Navarasam song five years ago.
I also didn't even know what the fcuk navsaram is. Navsaram band was getting free publicity but they decided to create hate for themselves from varah roopam fans.

Rishab, it's great that you're enjoying the success and it is truly a great song and movie. But please show some humility and acknowledge the original creators of the tune.
When it comes to creative art, nobody can 'copy'. It's easy for people to get away with copyright/stealing in creative arts.
Because one can easily justify saying that it was their hardwork, it's a coincidence and just sounds similar.
But so many similarities in one song? (The vibe, the beginning, instruments, drop, solo etc) I don't think that's talent, a coincidence, or 'copied'. It's heavily inspired by Navarasam. HEAVILY.
We don't need any musicians to tell us that. You're gifted with ears. Just make use of them.
Inspired and copied are 2 completely different things. For people who do not have music knowledge it may sound similar. At this rate we may have to ban every song by every music director, and movies will be without any songs as there will be some inspiration here and there even if you take any great music directors. There a few Raga's in Carnatic music

TB also knows that they will not win the case, they lost the case also. that's why they started propaganda in social media when the case is already in court. now court verdict also came in favor of Kantara.. TB created controversy so that they get more views and they achieved what they wanted i.e. 120% growth in views in 1 month comparing to last 5 years. Else when they went to court how can they say its copied before verdict in social media?
As Kannadiga...I feel ashamed when people say there is nothing wrong if song is copied.... only raaga is similar nothing bad..and all that...because of Kantara only Thaikudam Bridge song came to be known.
When next time any other language movie team copies any Kannada content..song, music.. story, screenplay or script...then that time we can't say anything. Aavaga naavu muchkondu irbeku.

And I am a Malayali and I am extremally disappointed the Kantara’ song had to be removed because of some random English copy right law. Also, if it comes to copy right Thaikudam Bridge also copied old Carnatic rangas and rythms. At the end of the day, we love these two songs because, carnatic Raags are deeply embedded in them, and not because of R&B and gitar play. Except the beats and gitar play Thaikudam Bridge owns nothing.
it's totally copied in terms of bgm but the lyrics and some other tune is added in varah roopam. He should have given credit for that bgm, which is a hard work of band. Other wise both the songs are awsome.

Karnatic music is the base for any music in the world....the raagas come from swaras and it is karnatic music even from the era of dasaru.....the raagas can be same with slight variations with different words...people understand this who have learnt classical music...

Copying means sampling.. but notes are different in both songs they haven't taken any sample from Navarasam.
Only the lyrics are not copied otherwise everything is same. If you mute the lyrics and listen it's the same song except for one or two places.

Team should acknowledge that Varaharoopam Song was inspired by Navarasam by Thaikkudam Bridge , They should be given Due credit.
Ajaneesh has already admitted that Navarasam inspired him. But thaikkudam bridge is alleging that Kantara team has copied their song. If one listens to it closely, there are many differences between the two. When a layman listens to it for the first time it sounds the same, not even due to the confluence of ragas, but the tempo of drums and guitar which kick in. This will be very hard to prove in court as a copy. Will be interesting to see if hombale settles with Thaikudam to manage public perception or fight it in court.

I’m a Kannadiga but the music is heavily inspired from Navarasam by Thaikkudam Bridge and due credit should be given. No one is saying don’t get inspiration but only to give credit where it is due. Thaikuddam people are an independent band who have worked super hard to get to where there are. Kantara is an amazing movie.
