I think it's that feeling that the stands are somehow filled with the spirits of those fellas who said thank goodness for you Bobby Parker when the title hoodoo was finally broken. Their mates who survived the trenches to watch Dixie Dean, and their kid brothers who told Tommy Lawton he wouldn't never be as good. Their kids who watched in horror when Eddie Wainwright couldn't save us, and then breathed again when the Cannonball Kid did. Then the new breed of teenagers who dared to believe Roy Vernon could make the club great again and then expected so much from Kendall, Ball and Harvey. The ones who booed the 0-0 with Coventry, and then, in the blink of an eye cheered by far the greatest team the world had ever seen. The ones who sucked the ball into the Bayern Munich net, and kept believing that Wimbledon, surely not Wimbledon, could seal our fate. The dogs of war, the nearly men of Moyes, the nightmare of Moshiri.............Turn the page for the next chapter.
I'm a Spurs fan but I have a lot of respect and admiration for Everton, it reminds me of Tottenham a bit. I'm planning on going up to Liverpool in January for the Spurs game at Goodison, as this will be my last chance to go. Can't wait.
I was a Evertonian the minute the midwife smacked my arse. But I never saw my first game until March 1969. Everton 1 Chelsea 2. But the score never bothered me. The ground hypnotised me. It was similar to walking into one of the worlds great cathedrals. I have many highs and too many lows but I could never imagine my life as anything except being a Evertonian. COYBs.
Great video! We must embrace the last season at Goodison Park and then look forward the future at Bramley-Moore Dock. With Evertonians as the ones in this video we can rest assured that the spirit of Goodison will be transferred to the new stadium! 🤗
@@andycole366 h hope so mate. Foreign owners eh? Hate modern day football I'm really enjoying the championship at the mo. No var etc! You had Alan Ball as managers years ago I remember. Dare I ask what he was like? Take care mate a thanks! Good luck this season ! 👍
@paulkendall7890 yeah true, we were shafted by our foreign Premier league owners, but the Premier League didn't help. We were docked points due to the league not doing checks on potential owners. They said they were legit billionaires but they didn't have a pot to pee in. You live and learn and our American owners seem to be investing well. (So far). Alan Ball was okay. Not great as manager. Slightly ahead of my time. I'm am 80s baby. Haha.
Lovely to see everton in this episode. I love to see ped sarah dave snd other fans talkiing about there love of goodison and everton. I cant waut to go and see everyon at bramley more dock. @@terratoffee cheers I will call them as I don't drive and can't get to the drop of point I will need a pickup from closer to me in Totnes. How much are the tickets normally please?
I really feel for these fans. I dread to think what would happen if they were gonna knock down Portman Road. I think the way forward is the white hart lane model and building on the existing footprint.
I wonder what the "Everton" song will be changed too? They won't be able to say get down to Goodison Park once they move, will be interesting what they come up with? I await that with interest. COYB
The theme park known as gobshite world! Our original ground, also known as anfield, don't mention Hysel, looking a bit dated now. Maybe we could lend them Goodison for a couple years
Close: Originally £500m budgeted for Everton Stadium, now expected to cost £780m. It's partly responsible for the financial breaches over the past couple of years, something the club has hopefully moved past now.
Not and Evertonian or a Scouser. Went to University in Liverpool 20 years ago and did make Goodison a temporary home for four year. Love the ground deeply.

Fucking hell, what a comment.
What a beautiful comment. One last page to write in the chapter of Goodison Park, let's hope it's a good one! 🏟️

The sort of feeling only your football club can bring!
Was great that. Really shows how people are torn. Shame we’re leaving goodison with a whimper but we’ll do our best to enjoy it anyway.
Thank you! Certainly seems there is a lot of mixed feelings

Not sure that was quite possible at Goodison, but it absolutely should be the way where possible!

Surely there has to be a multi Billionare out there looking at the new stadium and asking themselves "Who owns that? I might buy them"
Hopefully that's all sorted out soon! 🔵

Question do people still live in those little terraces houses next to the ground?
Yes they do 😀 me dad wanted to buy a house very close to the stadium years ago but was told by my mum not a chance 😂
Yeah ....Those people are the Salt of the earth!...I was born in a little terraced house just like them 75yrs ago....💙
The new ground should have cost 370 Million pounds and will now cost over 1 Billion pounds if they can afford it
