    There's an important consideration many seem to miss. More PSI doesn't always mean better results or business cost savings. Typical hoses max out at 4000psi. The only real incentive for a larger machine is to upgrade completely to a hot water machine to make use of variable psi and temps to deliver a full range of service to make the best use of a capital investment in equipment. I'm actively researching cost benefit on higher pressures. It means duplicating or upgrading every attachment to handle the heat and increased pressure. It's a lot more complex than most people realize.

      I did get the higher psi hoses. All my hoses are rated between 4500 and 5000 psi. Also just upgraded to the 150 foot hose. There is a limit to hose length vs psi as well and if you're running a super long hose, you better have the psi to do it. Now, the hot water systems are quite a bit more in price so you'd have to look at your applications. If you're doing convenience stores then, yea. That'll get the gum up off the sidewalks. For me, eh, I just do residential driveways and pool decks and stuff.

      @@Something2LookAt I'm doing work quite similar to what you do. I routinely work with 200 feet of hose. I'm looking at high heat at low pressure for natural stone work, and the possibility of expanding my graffiti removal sales. I was looking at it from a cost of gear standpoint. Everyone has a personal choice. Merely offering a few bits of research. for me, the $5k is a good price.

    I might be wrong here Mike, but I believe that you still get the 4000 psi at each tip since the water is being split simultaneously to each side ie; the water gets the same pressure forcing on it from behind out each side, but it's the gpm that gets cut in half. Plus, the orifice size at each tip can be sized to make sure there is 4K at each one. Again, I could be wrong. Very nice attachment regardless.

      Aha, well this has become a very good question. Using a water broom in the past was always a nice safe way to clean painted pool decks because that one has 4 tips and it always seemed to drastically reduce pressure. I was assuming that it reduced it by 4. Um, I dunno? Anyone?

      @@Something2LookAt Yeah, I'm not positive I am correct, but based on conversations I have had in the past, what I posted is right.

      Your surface cleaner power/pressure is more based on GPM not PSI

    • @westcoast708
      @westcoast708 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not about psi most important thing on any pressure washer, is gpm more water means more cleaning u want about 300 gpm .

      @@Something2LookAt Good video, I've been doing a lot of research with the intention of upgrading my equipment.
      I'm pretty sure the water broom tips are 40 deg., most surface cleaners run 25 deg tips (nozzles?) standard. Results come from psi being mated to gallons per minute for the surface washer, if the surface cleaner wants 8 GPM and your pump only delivers 4 GPM regardless of psi it won't perform to full potential. Maybe installing 15 deg nozzles in that situation would compensate for the GPM being lower.
      The other issue I found through research is the sticker on the pressure washer often states its Max pressure, the important pressure is continuous pressure and most machine specs show that in handbooks or .pdf files online.

    Be forwarned these units will over time start to leak because some have two nylon washers attached to the spindle under the unit. Many do not sell replacement parts but they will not tell you that. I am still having trouble finding one with all revenant replacement parts.

    • @Something2LookAt
      @Something2LookAt  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have a local pressure washer shop, check them for parts. They usually have a wide variety of parts.

    Now seal that clean concrete up with good concrete sealer. Not Thompson's, that is just wax.

    Pressure doesn’t split… Gpm splits.
