- Hey All! What can I say... This film matched the hype in my opinion. Loved this one, and the atmosphere. I think Longlegs is one of th emost unique horror villains I've seen in awhile. Great watch!
This video is NOT a replacement for the film, and is solely for commentary purposes. If you want an experience that is not modified and includes all dialogue and footage and does not include my whiny voice, please watch the movie where available.

Something that can really only be realized on a rewatch: the shot starting at 1:47 is from the passenger side of longlegs' car; this is from the dolls perspective. Also you noticed the devil shadow way more than anyone else Ive seen react to this, good eye!
Thanks for your reaction and it was nice to watch it "with you". Loved the atmosphere aswell and the more you think about it, the darker it is. "Cuckoo" (like the birds who put their wrong eggs into other families but here it's a doll" etc. 🤐 And you are as smooth as the film by the way, just saying 🙂 😁
One of the most intriguing movies of the year. The acting was amazing. Seen it 4 times by now
Amen to that! Although Kobble would frown on my figure of speech
It's so great when artists of various disciplines can still find ways to creep up on us, pull the rug out, surprise us, or show us something new or different or strangely entrancing. And it's great when a marketing campaign is done so well....the marketing of this film is up there with Blair Witch and The Matrix. Looking forward to more from this director.
Well said! And that is a great way to describe the film, entrancing. It draws you into its darkness and you don't want to leave. Also thanks for subscribing!
9:10 so far, so good. You're like only the second or third reactor out of almost all the others to notice the shadow of the devil in the back corner. So I have HIGH HOPES for all the other appearances the devil makes, because SOMEONE IS paying appreciate attention! 👏 👏 👏
!!
32:33 missed another devil right in the upper-windsw of the front door.
Mike always does an amazing job at paying attention and being insightful. This is one of the best reaction channels on TH-cam imo.
Oh man, I did totally miss that one at 32:33 devil-goat-man eluded me. Thanks for pointing that out!
Pauline: You're too kind!
I didn't even notice that when I saw it at the movies!!
I appreciate that you were willing to react to this instead of seeing it in the theater lol I absolutely loved this film, I've seen it multiple times now. It's super uncomfortable and disturbing, but I can't help but crack up every time Nicolas Cage sings 😂 I really appreciate the retro vibes and cinematography in this film. Check out The Blackcoat's Daughter, which is also by Oz Perkins.
His singing is so intriguing to me! I wonder how Perkins came up with this guy. I think I'm right about French aristocracy being part of the inspiration for the look, but after I've spent time editing this video I'm also getting Marilyn Manson vibes. Which would be another little easter egg seeing as Kobble is compared to Charles Manson
I missed you and Anna =^_^= of course love this reaction as per usual! One thing about Lee that I hadn't noticed until it was pointed out to me is that she doesn't move her arms when she walks. Until she's freed, of course, she also finally starts showing more emotion after that point as well. Basically, the cycle with Lee was broken with her once the doll was dismantled, now she still needs to save Ruby.
I love how nuanced this film is and of course, all the things you picked up while watching it and again while editing.
If you enjoy these types of films check out any A24 films and a bunch of Neon films, sometimes Blumhouse as well lol Those 3 are pretty great. So far I've seen the most A24 films and I've only not been too fond of 1 which was Bodies Bodies Bodies (everyone else seems to love it though). I think the music was the main thing that made me rate it higher because it was done by Disasterpeace who did the music for It Follows actually lol And I adore Lee Pace and Rachel Sennott.
Another Oz Perkins film that people enjoy is The Blackcoat's Daughter. For more trivia Oz Perkins is the son of Anthony Perkins (Thee Norman Bates from Psycho) he has also acted in films besides directing them. He's mostly recognized as David Kidney from Legally Blonde with Reese Witherspoon. And lastly, Oz Perkin's daughter was the cashier at the store having to serve Longlegs.
Hey I hope you've been doing well! And wow, I didn't put those pieces together until you mentioned it as well. It makes sense! I think I even said something in the reaction near the end about how 'this is the most emotion I've seen her show the whole movie'
When Longlegs is on his bed there is a poster of Marc Bolan of T-Rex on the wall above him. Cool feature considering the apparent idea of the Longlegs character.
I think the only reason Clinton's portrait was in the office is to set the time that the movie takes place.
I allowed the movie's marketing to scare me into not watching it in the cinema initially. My teen went to watch it with her friends and convinced me that the movie is fine, I don't have to worry since my birthday's not on the 14th. I finally went to watch it with her and she got upset that I was laughing when we left the cinema. 😂😂
It's not scary like most supernatural movies, just the jump scares and the background music is creepy.. We've seen watched it many times. 😂
Aha, you're not scared to watch horror movies! 😉 A highly unique horror movie (not a slasher though) is Midsommar with the amazing Florence Pugh. Please watch it with us - looking forward to your stunned silence when the end credits hit the screen!
Hey thanks for dropping in! So I saw Midsommar when it came out. Ari Aster is one of my favorite horror directors! I did however film a reaction to that with my girlfriend who hadn't seen it. It's been sitting on the shelf and I need to edit it and get it on the channel. I'll try to do that soon
@@mikewatchesstuff Looking forward to seeing it! 🤩
Bill Clinton is in the picture because the movie takes place in the early to mid 90's
Yes, but the question is why director Oz Perkins placed it in deliberate spots recurringly. There's a thread of people on reddit discussing their opinions on what that's a metaphor of, but I'd be interested in hearing from Oz himself what this symbolizes.
please react to black swan !!!
you should have your gf and brother react with you!
It's like pulling teeth getting my girlfriend Anna to do a reaction haha. She isn't as comfortable doing it as I am. Same goes for my buddy (I don't have a brother)
