I have already learned one song out of this book, and I can already feel my skills improving. The songwriting in this band is insane, I can only imagine what its like to play Inferi on different instruments.

I love these! Something else I would like to see is a series or just singel video on gear. Guitars, mics, amps, cabs, bass, drums... Everything Inferi has and uses gearwise to sound like Inferi!

Oh man, I feel called out by the “Do not upstroke” message towards the end 😅
The struggle is real. I think I played upstokes in the demo as well. Not the most efficient way to play it. That is for certain.
@@MalcolmPugh that "D-E-D-F" stretch is one of my favorites from that album for sure! Can I ask why you suggest not starting on an upstroke there? Also, looks like you're doing strictly alternate on section "C" - for some reason with those groups of 3 I keep wanting to go d-d-u. Just a personal preference or any thoughts on difference? keep up the awesome music!
@@RHRHRH101010 If you can nail it, do what works. I suggest nothing for the upstroke because after the last sus chord note you are already ideally hitting the upstroke. So it would be a double upstroke which is a bad idea.
I do a lot of unintentional double upstrokes the more I examine these riffs for these videos. So, these videos are helping me get better eith theory and technique, so I have to pass on all knowledge to help keeo us all on the same page.

this riff is so sick, its got big 'my arms your hearse' vibes, except on crack, if this riff was in that album it would be the best riff in the album.
Now that I've mustered enough courage to TRY and learn this riff, I'm noticing something ''Message In A Bottly'' in that tough section lol. Sick riff! If I can manage to play this I'll buy a tab book.

There's a stretch of 5 straight songs on TPOA that I can't get enough of. The Ophidian Form, Prelude to a Perilous Fate, Destroyer (favorite Inferi song), Onslaught of the Covenant, and Marching through the Flames of Tyranny. It's like 25 straight minutes of glorious riffage

I actually just found it after like 2 years!
I find it interesting then you wrote these big riffs you have sections in the riff. I could see the motifs and what’s being carried over from the previous section. Do you do this all the time or is it just when you’re explaining the riff you find it easier to break it down motivically like this?
I really don't think about that type of stuff when writing. I just write what I think sounds best while in the moment.
