    Wow... what beautiful composition and visually stunning shots! 14 thumbs down?? What's not to like? Great drone work and voice over narration. I drove from Los Angeles to Cabo San Lucas many years ago and have been to Todos Santos more times than I can count. Job well done, if I had a Vlog award I'd give you the grand Prize, stay healthy.

    You should watch the documentary Patrimonio which you can find on iTunes. It shares the history of how this hotel was created and how it was built on stolen land from the local fishermen that you showed in the video. For this reason I will NEVER go to this establishment because I don't want to support crocked people who bully their way in. I advice others to do the same and stand with the locals in Todos Santos.

    The architecture of the hotel is beautiful and the food looks delicious! How all the boats work together to get out to sea was cool to see too!

    I admit that I have become a self - professed vlog/TH-cam junkie for travel with an emphasis on Mexico. Your production quality is the gold standard - this is what I come to watch, this is what all travel vlogs/TH-camrs should aspire to - KUDOS! Of course I subscribed - keep 'em coming !

    Amazing video guys! Great shots, perfect editing, we loved when the pelican was flying behind the boat! The hotel looks very very nice, and the food so yummy.

    Those drone shots are so nice. Maybe next time connect with a fisherman and join them during fishing. Your hotel looks luxury, should have been a great time.

    Most of Todos Santos does have many swimmable beaches. Cerritos is our favorite.

    I live in Todos Santos. San Cristobal needs to pay you for posting this very well done video.
    Need to remember there is a history between th life-long fishermen & San Cristobal, all of it not pretty.

    This hotel is in such harmony with the ocean and landscape❤️❤️❤️❤️ it seems the hotel was born out of the ground there! Your narration is just sooo lovely and Serene; it went so well with your visual journey❤️❤️❤️❤️. Is it hard to get a room there since there's only 32 rooms?

      We booked quite a bit in advance…and didn’t have too much of a problem. When we were there, it didn’t feel like it was sold out or anything…but maybe it’s gotten more popular lately. Thanks for the kind words! ❤️

    I'm considering a trip, but worried that we would want to swim in the ocean. We are familiar with Bunkhouse properties since we are from Austin. Just not sure if we would miss the ocean.

    • @TheNearAndAway
      @TheNearAndAway  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, the rip currents are supposed to be pretty rough on the beach there...I'm extremely comfortable around the ocean, but they made it a point multiple times not to go in. There are some beaches (surf spots) south of the property where you can swim though...but mostly we just hung out in the pool and hot tubs!

  • @Mindy-s-channel
    @Mindy-s-channel 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why can’t you swim there? And is it just that particular beach or all of Todos Santos?

    • @TheNearAndAway
      @TheNearAndAway  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe there are some beaches where it’s safe to swim…but I remember the locals warning us quite a bit of the riptides and undertows that are present at a lot of spots there.

    What an amazing hotel! Hotel San Cristobal has everything, the look, the feel, and top service by the look of it. I love the color grading from the airport all the way to the end of the video. It just gave the video a great vibe. This is not from airbnb, is it?

    Have to admit, some of the views of the Hotel San Cristobal remind me of El Guapo's palace in 3 Amigos! The beach views are incredible, especially the sunset views. Wonderfully edited/produced guys. BTW: bonus points for using the word "oblation" in a vlog. #VocabularyFTW

    Beautiful drone shots. I love the mix of the Cinematics, Brolls, and the informational bits of the video. The hotel looks very homey and amazing and yes, cool, just how you've described it. And the pool of the place looks stunning. I can imagine that I would also go dip in the hot tubs. Good thing that you can fly a drone there too, eh? No restrictions?

    Lovely video! This hotel is now added to my life bucket's list. Just one question about the music: What is the name of the song that starts in minute 3:47 to 5:42? Is not in the list of the description ):

    Why can’t you swim in that portion of the pacific?

    • @TheNearAndAway
      @TheNearAndAway  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There a really serious current and riptide on that part of the beach. We were told tourists get swept away all the time…so we didn’t want to find out ourselves 😂

    First, what do you record with? Every shot is so beautiful! Second, you make me want to visit Mexico so bad right now. That sunset shot was just killer. I wonder how they are able to attach the second boat to the one in the ocean seeing as they get dragged in separately?

    the landscape looks intriguing, love the shots along the road. wow what a beautiful hotel that you stayed in! the room looks beautiful wow the patio?? looks insane with those views outside. love the vibes the hotel brings where you can honestly just relax and have a good time on your stay there. looks secluded and not too crowded which is perfect to relax. oooh great to learn and see the fishermen on their daily routine, the drone shots are equally stunning. the shot at 5:55 got me in awe. amazing! the pink skies look pretty too. would love to be able to stay there in the future!! thanks for sharing! c/t

    I love the phrase of how some of the best things in life are at the end of a dirt road. In this case it is the beautiful ocean. The resort looks so serene and yet magical. I loved the shots of the fishing boats. It makes you appreciate the true existence of the people that have lived there for generations and the harmony they share with the modern world. Great job!!👍😊

    What a beautiful place!!! It's stunning in the video so I can only imagine how wonderful it is up close. That view from your balcony too - wow! Right out to the ocean but also the community areas of the hotel. I can see how it would feel like a very social place. Those hot tubs look cool. What is the reason you can't swim in the ocean? I love that the fishermen pull each other out into the sea too.

    • @TheNearAndAway

      Hi Karyn, thanks for the comment! You can swim on the Sea of Cortez side of Baja, but on the Pacific side, there is a steep drop off and a very strong tide, it's better for boating!
