Thank you this was a very good video not only did I learn a few things you made me laugh. I am getting ready to take mine apart for second time. your guitar playing was great. What was that first song you played called? I heard it years ago. Thank you
I just got a Cube 60 Bass in really nice condition. It sounds great just a few crackly pots and a dodgy input jack . Thanks for this though it gives me an idea of what to expect. Good save and nice fix up 🙏❤️🙏
I have a Cube 60 Bass. So much natural gain! Love it! I lost a bid on a 40 recently. I had the idea to patch them together to see how they would sound LOL. And you both play very well by the way!
Amazing mod. Want to keep the reverb I have though, trying to figure out a way to add an extra knob for that gain. It sounds so filthy useful. Maybe add a dpdt throw switch in between to toggle on and off. Can add a push pull knob as the switch so I don't have to drill any more holes. Did something similar on a fender champ tube amp, although way different wiring but same result, more gain, something this amps lacks.
Yup can use a dpdt switch or a 250k A taper push pull pot on the bass control which is 250k according to schematics. Jumper the bottom two poles connect the in and out to middle poles and connect top poles back to pcb. This enables you to toggle the between fuzz and reverb. Also cool is the external foot switch that can now turn the fuzz/reverb on and off. This simple really makes this versatile. Thank for sharing the mod!
@@AmerikkkaGuitars Yep a pushpull pot would be ideal for this, and if reverb is the pushed in setting nobody would know the mod is there until pulled :).
@@netman69 Forgot the rca plugs have ground also, you'd need a 4pdt switch, not sure if they make push pulls for that, but I can fit regular 4pdt switch on the back plate.
@@AmerikkkaGuitars I believe it's a shared ground and thus doesn't need to be switched :). Shielded wires are likely a good idea with the high gains and all though (I often use RG174 and connect the ground on the source end only).
Dude that reverb mod is the filthiest fuzz noise ever. That's amazing.

It's "Windy and warm" by John D. Loudermilk, Doc Watson and Chet Atkins did great versions of that tune.
That reverb mod seems useful. Even on a working one, a switch to bypass the reverb and get fuzz would be cool

You did a great job on that cleanup.
Brilliant video! And a great job on the amp - looks like the chipboard inside had ben chewed by mice!

This is a really good amp from the 80s with very tube like tone and it works also well with OD pedals. Great finding.
Agreed, it has a very nice character.
Cool video, you can use a standard vinyl cleaner to clean the tolex, alcohol can react with the softeners and dry out the plastic.
@@BrotherBrownMusic I didn't even know something like vinyl cleaner existed, thanks for enlightening me :)
@@netman69 no problem man, the most common are those used to clean car interiors and can be found cheap in most hardware stores :)
@@BrotherBrownMusic Yes, it's not hard to find when you actually know to search, it hadn't even crossed my mind to check :P.
@@netman69yeah got to get it from some where, I learned it from a video about cleaning old typewriters :)
You don't have enough subs dude. Keep at it!
Once I owned one. It was a fantastic amp...

I just got the same amp and it has all the problems you just fixed. I don't know if I'm up for the job to be quite honest. How much would this cost?
Where you at tho? If near or in Belgium find my email address on my channel page and hit me up. I don't work fast tho.
@@netman69 ohh bud that would be great, but I'm out of California in the US. :/ thank you 🙏
Neat! Goe gedaan!
WHere did you find that rare Fender Antec?
This is actually my very own signature series guitar for which i collaborated with Fender, Antec and Stagg. They don't know that tho.
In a dumpster? This is a $300 amp 😂
I know right xD. Maybe not $300 in the state I found it in, but it's a very fun amp.
Who's that girl? She's cute! 🤭
Haha, that plot twist
