This is the problem when narratives build. Same happened with Aguerd last season, Check the numbers of the game, he was statistically the best CB on the pitch by some way last night. In a game we played with little to no outlet whatsoever and conceded 28 shots on goal (basically a shot on goal every 3 minutes) its unrealistic to expect every single defensive situation to be dealt with. He was the best CB on the pitch yesterday.

It's rarely going to be a winger or a forward getting blamed for goals conceded. Mavropanos is being treated exactly the way Antonio and Souceck have been in prior seasons. He's the new scape goat and anything negative gets magnified. If you check the numerical break down of the game he was head and shoulders the best CB on the park yesterday. Extremely aggressive in the tackle, high up the pitch with no silly fouls given away, made lots of blocks and was extremely good in the air. He was actually a contender for MOTM. You cant expect defenders to be faultless in a game your conceding 28 shots on your goal. Thats a shot practically every 3 minutes we conceded yesterday. All three of our CBs have excellent qualities.
I'm just hoping I'm not dreaming. I mean, in less than a week a disorganised, disinterested collection of players have become a team. OK, just having happy players does a lot for them. I'm just reserving judgment for a little while. I bought into the Lopetegui propaganda and feel stupid now. Once bitten and all that. I do have hope now though, and love seeing Scarles playing. Irvine getting time and the like. Let's get safe and build for next season using our own academy players rather than spending ott for names or panic buying. Striker yes promote his backup from the youth.
You can already see the difference Potter has made the team looks much better obviously with the injuries we have it's not been the easiest of starts for him...But when our players are back and Potter has addressed our striker situation the future looks bright .
We need a striker. The lad Troj mentioned to me yesterday (Troj, drop a comment if you see this) would be such a good signing, it's unreal. He looks like if he settled into life well at the club and in the PL he'd be totally unplayable.
Arokodare - 6'6, extremely mobile, good finisher, good hold up play has ability on the ground. 18 goal contributions in 21 games is a great return in any league. We have to sign him. If were making 40million bids for Duran, just approach Genk and dont stop phoning them until you get a deal done for him. You have 18 days; probably less as they will want to replace him. We had been grasping at straws with loppi now we have a beacon of light with potter its amazing what a change can do for the fans⚒️⚒️
