First of all the reason they made sadness make everything sad was due to the fact Riley moves in the 1st film making all of her memories in Minnesota sad due to the fact she’s not there anymore also why they had to make new core memories because Riley isn’t in Minnesota anymore

the reason anxiety(anxiety in the dad's head) didn't appear until inside out 2 was probably because since riley is a lot older shes doing more risky things or like in showed in the movie how her family island is tiny she's spending more time away from her parents and pushing away from her parents so her dad is anxious
Don’t you understand if it was the “first” breath out of the body then if would be done by itself cause she was already wrapped in clothes cause she can’t just come out with clothes so therefore the first emotion is joy
Anxiety was not in other parents minds because the emotions left and after Riley went into puberty the parents are learnt to re know what Riley is feeling like by getting their emotions back

The crying when born thing:
If you notice, she is in bundles. Therefore, she had been born earlier. So i think that she had been born earlier, with no emotions, and her parents hadnt seen her face to face, because of the painful birth process. Rylie also didnt see them. Her cries were from pain, and almost instinct, not sadness. But upon seeing her parents, she felt a burst of joy. Then sadness comes along through the confusion.
I love how you are making questions witch are easily answered as they did stuff special or that emotion wasn't made yet but this is really fun :p
Guys did you notice that Riley is the only character with both boy and girl emotions but the rest of the characters emotions are the same gender as them
Yeah, its weird.
Maybe she’s genderfluid but that’d also not really make sense cuz she still had boys and girls in her emotions when she was little-
It's because for Riley, pixar designed all the emotions as whatever they'd be. For example anger's personality would fit better as a male, disgust's as a female, and so on. But for the other characters, there had to be a way to differentiate the other emotions from riley's, so Pixar gives those other emotions different features depending on whos they are. For example riley's mom's emotions have similar hair to her own and are all female, because that will differentiate them from riley's emotions. And it's the same case with the dad, and every other character. It's shocking how many people nowadays are trying to tie in an LGBTQ theme to a movie that came out a decade ago when there's clearly no sign of that being what they meant.

Another thing is when Riley hits puberty and she gets new emotions, why do the parents all of the sudden get it too? Didnt they already hit puberty?
The emotion had just backed out because they weren’t in puberty so they don’t need anxiety or the other new ones all the time

Anxiety not being in the first movie does make sense. They explained it with the nostalgia joke.The emotions come and go when they are needed and they come out of that little door.

Another thing that does not make sense is the fact that Riley is the only person who has the new emotions from Inside Out 2 and that her dad only has anxiety ( who never appears in 1).

For the baby crying thing. I was a relatively calm baby. I didn't cry so the doctor spanked me. My mom said I didn't cry then either. Instead I just looked at him like "what was that for!?" it wasn't until they pricked my heel and drew the blood test that I finally cried

My personal explanation for the second one or the one abt Riley's emotions not looking like her is that Riley is supposed to be the main character of the whole Pixar universe
To answer the first question the answer is that was disgust doing that because she was the OG embarrassment
I think why Riley showed embarrassment in the first movie is that in the second one anxiety made them look into past and future and when the machine closed embarrassment showed up and and set his hand on some buttons that’s why. 0:45

All of Riley’s emotions don’t look like her because the movie focuses on Riley’s emotions so they look more unique. The other people’s emotions look like them because I think the animators got lazy and didn’t make unique designs for the other characters.
If you think about it, you cant have negative without posotive. Let me explain, this works out 2 ways, for example with emotions, you cant stay happy your entire life without having sad moments can you? But also, when you think about magnets, for them to connect, you need a negative and a positive, but when you have too much positive or negative (2 positive ends or 2 negative ends together) they dont attach like they do when theyre together.
the thing abt sadness touching memories:
Sadness was the only onewho hadn't been accepted by joy and rylie, and i guess all of the emotions. she was finally (after she is has given rylie the memories) accepted by everybody

I think the reason the wagon was still remembered but not Bing Bong is because Bing Bong is where the memory’s go away and are forgotten but the Wagon wasn’t in there long enough to vanish. And even it did break you still can see the parts of the wagon. And for early in the 1st film you probably know the wagon fell in way early then Bing Bong and Joy but my guess is it fell on one of the rocks but deep down that Bing Bong, Joy and Sadness don’t see it, then later when Bing Bong and Joy fell in when they said the song to make the wagon fly it did and crashed in the memory’s. ( These are just guesses not they might not be the real answer)
when the workers sent the memory i was so confused. it makes more sense but i guess its more so part of character evolution

For sadness I think she can only turn old memories from Minnesota sad because she had to leave them behind but all these memories are new so there’s no reason for sadness to be able to turn them sad
Riley is adopted because in the start of the inside out 2 the parents hair is brown and there are eyes are brown and riley has blue eyes and blonde hair
The biggest thing that doesnt make sense to is how the emotions can feel different emotions than how theyre defined. For example joy became angry once

well some of these ones actually do make total sense in a way like the reason why Sadness is able to turn happy memories into sad memories but the others couldn’t is because in reality happy memories can turn into sad memories like if a family member or someone you love or like dies or if you won’t see something you love or like again then it’s like when you look back at happy memories you had of it the you can start to feel sad that you that it’s gone now
and perhaps the reason why Joy wasn’t getting along with Sadness but the other emotions is because they are not making any trouble or her job harder and also because Joy didn’t see what so positive about crying but what so positive about the three others emotions
Fear, Disgust and Anger are negative emotions but there are some positive things that can happen with this emotions and so Joy didn’t see what so positive about Sadness until the very end

I think disgust is NOT a negative emotion, because disgust doesn’t really affect anything, it’s my opinion,please don’t go anger mode on me
I think it’s to make her stand out more it’s a possibility that Riley is not sure what she identifies as since she is a tom boy they may have wanted her to have Emotions that look different to sure that change happens with time
