I sold my first Jeep Wrangler thinking it was a transmission issue. I’m now on my second Jeep and the same issue is starting to happen. I needed this video years ago!

Thank you for posting this video! I ended up dropping my transmission, replacing the clutch, and still had the same issue. Then, I saw your video and the recommended part number and it worked perfectly. Thanks again!

Glad I could help you out. it was a problem that I was racking my brain with for about a year and no one else on the forums of any kind had figured it out. must have looked through several hundred post all with the same problem and no answer. I just really hope this video can help a lot of other jeep owners ! Feels good to solve a mystery that has been plaguing so many jeep owners for years!

Thank you for this information. I’ve been having the same problem for the past 3 years, I’ve been getting the same part from O’Reillys. I’m definitely going to check out rock auto . Thanks again.

Rock auto doesn’t have that model anymore. I have a 93yj they have a LMC 209 wondering if you know if its the same or not?

Thanks for the video, I just bought a '99 and I'm having similar issues. What year was this on? Rock Auto is showing a different part number (LMC357) than yours. Of course, this is 4+ years later and maybe they changed the part number.

first gen XJ. Yours is a second gen XJ so it may be different. Even if it is a different part if it's from the same manufacturer I'm sure it's built to the same standards.

My ‘90 yj with ax15 is doing the exact same thing! Just finished replacing entire clutch kit this weekend and didn’t fix, have been worried ever since. I’m gonna try this! Do you know the part number for the hydraulic line you bought that connects to the luk clutch master cylinder?

Im having the same issue especially when shifting into R and 1st gear sometimes but i found that pushing down on the clutch 2x-3x helps

I’ll have to try this, mine works fine when you first turn it on once she warms up it gets hard to change, doesn’t grind or anything. Reverse grinds rough though,

@@pcbuys7281 yea my Jeep was doing that same thing, I couldn’t get it fixed, I got this same one he used in video and still didn’t help, I put new slave, still had a issue, new syncros, lines, everything still was doing the same thing, I ended up selling it cause I didn’t have enough time for it anymore.

I swapped out that master cylinder. Not very difficult. Worst part was getting the lynchpin back on the foot pedal. Also plan on pulling the seat to save your back. The results are very positive. We will see next time I get in a bunch of stop and go traffic. The clutch engages about 1 1/2” off the floor. Much better than before.
Note if you decide to swap out the line to the slave, that could be a pain getting the new one in. Very Tight. Glad I did it.
