    charging the control on the handle bars was an eye sore at first, then I realized it only needs to be charged about once a month. I just completed a December challenge, riding everyday and almost every day indoors for 50-60 minutes and only plugged in my controls at the beginning of the month.

    The main/only reason I'm not going to buy one of these Zwift frames is that the crank arm length is 170mm. I've been using 165mm for over 10 years and is the perfect length for me. They should make them adjustable. Maybe that will be on the next model?
    Another reason not to buy the complete bundle is the Kickr Core. I did try a Kickr Core before upgrading from a Kickr V2 to the Kickr V5 I have now but it just didn't have the road feel I was used to. Saying that... I am thinking of trying the virtual Zwift shifting and the Core is one of only 3 trainers that work with the Zwift Cog system so might try a Core again although the Elite Direto XR might be better. The Kickr V6 works with virtual shifting but a bit too much to spend just to try it.

      I love the Zwift Cog upgrade. Almost silent compared to my old setup, and there is no need to worry about tuning up the 20 year old bike I'm using.

    • @2wheelsonline
      @2wheelsonline 8 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @@tonyd3049 A new Kickr Core with the Zwift Cog & Click was delivered today. I tried the Core first with just a normal 12 speed cassette just to get a feel for it compared to my existing Kickr V5 which I've had for over 3 years. Seemed a bit odd to buy a new lower spec trainer than the one I've got.
      I then rode Stage 1 of Tour de Zwift (B). The Core didn't feel too bad and better than when I last tried one.
      I then rode Stage 1 of Tour de Zwift (C) with the Click. I just started using the Click buttons with the 12 speed cassette on the 14T rear and 34T oval on the front. OMG! Why don't all bikes change gear as fast as you can with the Click! It has changed my thinking of what's needed on the bike so going to change things.
      I was a bit apprehensive as to how the virtual gears would feel compared to normal gears but it feels great and are smoother & you can change gear as fast as your fingers allow. I did get the Zwift Play controls in the bundled package I got direct from Zwift so will fit them ASAP and it will be even better! 😍
      I'll have to remove the front mech as the chain was rubbing and that was the only thing making noise. I'll fit the Cog tomorrow and that is supposed to be noisier than a normal cassette but I'm not bothered.

    The number of issues showing up on the Zwift Forum would keep me away from that montage of parts. If I want to try virtual shifting I would probably go with the QZ app that works with most/all trainers. For an actual All-In-One system, one off the Smart Bikes will be better integrated but will be pricier. Also the Elite system should be out soon...that system will work on any app...as the Zwift Ride will only work on Zwift.

    • @TheDustyDutchman
      @TheDustyDutchman  16 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @@chrisbenten9971 Thanks for the info. The only part of the Zwift ride package that won’t work on another app is the buttons for the hand controls.

    • @chrisbenten9971
      @chrisbenten9971 14 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@TheDustyDutchman You can use the Core and a regular bike (switch to a regular cassette) or you can run single-speed/erg on another app or use the QZ app. Zwift is a closed API and the package (using all pieces) is not compatible. The Elite system is. Will cost a bit more but the trainer (Justy 2) is higher level.
      People are dumping NEO 2T trainers, one of the best on the market, to get this package just for the Virtual Shifting. I am failing to wrap my head around that swap.

There's nothing I can do for the climbing or swaying back and forth. I mean it's a solid machine and I like it for what it is. @TheDustyDutchman My use case is pretty specific but I am using a mod for GTA V PC called GTBikeV so it would be cool if there was some small analog stick (even as small as the stick for the PSP handheld) for full 3d steering.
      And I watched a video of another guy with a much cheaper setup than mine that was using an actual bike with a front wheel attached and he has a smart sensor that works in the game mod. So for way less money he actually has more realistic/fun movement in the mod than I do. Like I said pretty niche case here

A Kickr Core (or used Zwift Hub), paired with your Synapse and the Zwift Cog + Play Controllers would offer you a very comparable experience for a fraction of the Zwift Ride bundle.
