Precisely... if the US says jump, the UK and others ask...How high? This new strategy of advising citizens not to travel to Jamaica, is all part of the USA destabilising ...Let's punish Jamaica plan! Their inability to accept that Jamaica is making up its own mind, as opposed to bowing to uncle Sam is just too much for the US to swallow.

    • @Headonwriter
      @Headonwriter 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@christopherg.creary8708 Anyone that believes the US is safe is either dreaming or in denial. Their border with Mexico is crossed by thousands everyday. I'm not a fan of Trump but his idea to build a wall was their best defense but for several political reasons they haven't done so.
Don't get me wrong, their main reason for putting out a travel advisory against Jamaica is the crime. However, moving it to a level 3 is strictly a political move.
Crime is everywhere, the tourist coming here are in no more danger than they were when it was at level 1.
The Biden administration is using every trick in the book to force Jamaica to abandon our religious standards. They allow same sex marriage we don't. Moving Jamaica to level 3 is their way of saying to their citizens be afraid of Jamaica be very afraid.
More tourist gets killed in Manhattan than in Jamaica over the last 20 years. However they're the one telling people not to come here.
No one would listen to Holiness if he placed an advisory against traveling to the US. Even when nine eleven took place, the mayor of NY was still telling people that NY was safe. The president traveled to NY to prove to people it was safe.
Jamaicans are so scared of Jamaica, so regardless of what is happening in America, if they're offered a green card no one would turn it down.
There are ways Jamaica can respond to Biden that would make him listen but our leaders are snakes, they don't have back bones. Same goes for both pnp and jlp.
Every year the USA retires more teachers, nurses, doctors etc, than they recruit. Jamaica is one of their recruitment centre. They're ways our leaders can use that as a leverage but as a said, no backbone. So they sell us and very cheap too.

I don't think anyone can truly blame Jamaica for the decision it is making geo politically! I see once Jamaica was to get some loan, America cancelled the loan and gave the money to Poland, those are things that are hard for the Jamaican people to forget! The United States one year told its citizens not to travel to Jamaica and most of Jamaica hotels became empty! Now Jamaica has decided not to put all their eggs in one basket and that is very understandable because of its pass with the United States!

However there is the Monroe Doctrine.
      Monroe Doctrine.
Replace " European " with China, Russia or whoever else.
Be careful. The US is vindictive.

As a Jamaican, I fully support the decision of the GoJ as far too long our country has being held down by the colonizers without much economic investment and development. It is time now for our leaders to make decisions that will result in a win win situation instead of being dictated to. Our country could have and should have been more developed had it not being for the colonizers and oppressors who suppress our advancement. We as a people need to support our government's decisions and work for the better of the country as we aim to become a developed country and not a state of any country.

@trapmuzik6708 every country has something to trade.
The problem is that he want China to take his country, but China does not want to take any country.
China is willing to trade with countries not to colonized them. China is only willing to invest in a country if it's investments will result in benefits to both the country and to Chinese economy.
Unlike like the western countries that practice the policy of colonialism under every name that they can use to fool the countries China does not do that.

With China, you actually see results, mainly the infrastructure that is "springing" up in Jamaica. Trade/business between Jamaica/China and other nations have also risen. You can see why Jamaica again, took the deal with China to do business.

A dozen poor countries are facing economic instability and even collapse under the weight of hundreds of billions of dollars in foreign loans, much of them from the world’s biggest and most unforgiving government lender, China.
An Associated Press analysis of a dozen countries most indebted to China - including Pakistan, Kenya, Zambia, Laos and Mongolia - found paying back that debt is consuming an ever-greater amount of the tax revenue needed to keep schools open, provide electricity and pay for food and fuel. And it’s draining foreign currency reserves these countries use to pay interest on those loans, leaving some with just months before that money is gone.
Behind the scenes is China’s reluctance to forgive debt and its extreme secrecy about how much money it has loaned and on what terms, which has kept other major lenders from stepping in to help. On top of that is the recent discovery that borrowers have been required to put cash in hidden escrow accounts that push China to the front of the line of creditors to be paid.

The consistent cycle of debt, and IMF is not sustainable , and is only a short term solution, not to mention the interest rate paid on that , benefit only the loaner, whilst the poorest bears the burden of oppression, from people who clearly care nothing about Jamaica or its people !!

This is the result of lack of education and the eroding of Jamaican produce. Much more can be said but let this suffice for now.

Jamaica economy is extrinsic linked to the USA as the bulk of our export and import are with America. That is also obvious when we look at our tourism industry where 70% of tourist comes from the USA and along with the large Jamaican diaspira of over 1 million and Jamaica continues to trade in USD dollars as a foreign currency and is not likely to change anytime soon. Despite the fact Chinese people have been a part of Jamaica since the late 1800 and makes up a small portion of the population and has contributed significantly in all spheres of national life such as Byron Lee, Micheal Lee Chin, Ferdinand Yap who was a politician and was instrumental with moderning the electoral college or his wife the late Collen Yap who was mayor of kingston who cleaned up kingston under the slogan clean as a whistle and othhers are part of what makes jamaica out of many one people. Jamaica trade with China is very small as we export annually about 320 million USA and import about 1 billion USA according to the bank of jamaica data and our national debt to China is very small of about 2 billion USD and its money borrowed to finance infrastructure projects. Currently Jamaica has no agreement for new money as in the last visit to China the Prime Minister went there looking to the Chinese to invest and not to borrow money to make Jamaica more indebted. The focus of the government is to grow the economy to get revenue to fund the daily running of the country and not to borrow money to fund the budget of the country as was practised by the previous government which resulted in heavy tacation to repay the debt. So Jamaica is expanding its trading capacity and not replacing its historical trading partners such as the USA, Canada, UK or Europe as the bulk of jamaica trade are with those countries and the trunk of its disapora resides in tjise countries

The West imports all their stuff from China, because they know its the best option. So if they do it, why not Jamaica?
The US and EU have a huge trade deficit with China, because they import so much and sell very little, because they don't really produce anything that china needs.
Jamaica cant do that, because IMF and Western nations force you to do business with them, if you don't you'll get no loans, they punish you or they might even try to destroy your economy, this is how modern day colonialism works.
Unless you free yourself from the Western stranglehold, you will never truly be free and most likely be poor, the West is like a parasite. They never changed, they only pretend they did.
Just look around you, South America has been (forced to be) in business with the US for decades, how did that turn out?
The imperialists never changed, don't let them fool you, brother...
Jamaica made a smart decision, they chose freedom.

@@phillyyardyvibes808 You are serious are you. Did you know that Jamaica has a trade surplus with Canada as we export more to Canada than import. In 2019 we export 290 Million USD to Canada and import 230 million USD. At basic if you were to walk into any Jamaican store in Ontario or even BC or Montreal as I have traveled there you will find Jamaican ground provisions. If you were to go into any international section of major supermarkets you will find Grace Kennedy products. Jamaica export bauxite and Aluminum to Canada, Russia and USA . Jamaica export white marle and last year earned 350 million USD and Jamaica export Blue Mountain Coffee. So it's ridiculous for you to even to have commented

From what I’ve seen in global development involving China’s BRI, including Singapore and ASEAN, where I’m from; China doesn’t interfere in the sovereignty of each nation. China only cares about trade and assisting countries in the BRI to develop their infrastructure, because without infrastructure, a country’s growth and development will be hindered. The U.S. and Europeans in the other hand, always interfere in the social and political processes of sovereign nations from Africa, the Mid-East, South America, the Caribbean, the Pacific and Asia. It’s the ongoing Neocolonialism and hegemonic dominance of the U.S. and its European allies. But, the unipolar world dominated by the U.S. has come to an end. A new and hopefully, FAIRER and more equal multipolar world order has begun. Thanks to China, Russia, India and the BRICS+ nations. 200-500 years of White people dominance of coloured people is finally coming to an end.

The US operate as a free market economy, and the government does not have or operate an engineering/construction company that would do those kinds of work. Nothing fi nutthing. Here is a country/government owning swats of land in another country, given for development. There is all these other concession. Show me another country on the planet who does this?
