I don't understand why people make appointments to get their hair done on the same day that they have an event or something important! Don't schedule it on the same day in case things like this happen and your just left looking a mess! Plan ahead if you have any important event get your hair done in advance that way if anything comes up you can find a replacement. ❤
Thank you !! Like every time I see videos like this the women are always saying “I have somewhere to be in an hour !!” Like girl my anxiety could never I would be doing nothing that whole day until it was time for my appointment 😭
Seriously!!! Even if they have to get it STYLED the next day or right before their event. Don’t get an install, braids, or extensions on the “Day Of”, let alone HOURS BEFORE. Always take human error into account so you have time to correct any mistakes.
There’s no way I would EVER let anyone in , by, or near my head with scissors or any sharp object while they’re yelling hollering and upset. It’s mind blowing to me.
That’s why I learned how to do my own braids. They braid too tight and in the middle to the back of my hair, one shop made big parts! Now, they can braid they asses off but never again. TH-cam Hair University helped me. It saved me a lot of money. And plus I can take my time.
I'm sorry but y'all are not a victim......If your shop doesn't have mirrors, turn around and leave. If you can't regularly look at your hair, get up and leave.
I'm a hairdresser, not a braider. Even when I do my family and friends at home I have a little 'mini salon' set up- Mirror , basin, bench for their coffee/tea, phone charger...my hairdressing trolley for all my equipment/ tools. I definitely need a mirror to check the symmetry of my clients hair, to check that I'm flattering the clients face shape, bone structure (cheekbones, jawline) and their hairline when cutting and blow-drying. Plus, I need it when doing foils, baby lights and balayage, again for symmetry. Also, the client obviously feels much more comfortable being able to see what's going on as well. I thought that there were basic professional standards?
Sis is just like me. This Houston hairstylist wanted that smoke to be careful what you do to others because you will have them do onto you. You played it correctly, never let them get away with anything in 2025.
I wish everyone could just embrace their natural beautiful curls and stop supporting these disrespectful, greedy, aggressive salons with outrageous prices. If you stop going they will have to change the prices and how they do business. I've been to many black owned salons in my lifetime with relatives and never had a bad experience but it was hours on end and overpriced for everything. They get over on those they think they can. I always went with older black relatives so there never was drama but this was also back in the day! iykyk.
The only African hair braiders I go to are my momma and my cousins for this reason. But let us not pretend there aren't some ATL stylists and braiders with this EXACT level of customer service 👀👀👀
I cannot believe Peckham London made it on here 😂😂😂. The Call the Police one with the Blonde mohawk. Nobody with sense goes to those shops in Peckham. They stop to eat stew and have toddlers all around you in the shop. Its very rachet. 😂😂😂
The third dark skin lady when she had said when she said she’s having to pay the boho part was in knots and tangled when she said “ it’s giving birds nest 🪺 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣!!
@14:00 I will never understand how people walk into strangers houses to get their hair done, honey just pay that person their money and GET OUT don’t bother tryna negotiate with a person you don’t know 😶

Why would you book an appointment for individuals the same day as an event? & 7 hrs out at that...then it sounds like she's never booked with her before. Sorry, but she set herself up for failure lol
This is crazy. These young ladies can't find decent hair styles their are really good hair stylist out here, but they are far and few between. The best ha stylist I've ever gotten after redoing my locks were my nephew, who is a part-time barber.
Damnnnn what the actual fxckkkk?!?! I hate that y’all have to go through this…Especially with ya own ppl, who shouldddd know how to take care of y’all’s hair. I hate sooo much how everyone, community or not, money is so much more important than customer service and loyalty. I literally could neverrrrrr!!!!
Honestly....😂😂😂 She deserved to get her hair cut.Why would you go to someone's shop, sit your behind down for 3+ hours knowing you won't pay?uh-uh play stupid games, get your hair cut
I feel horrible for the people who get cheated out of good service. Now a days you should put everything single transaction in writing and get it notarized omg jk about the notary 😮😅
I was taught that you don't let just ANYBODY do your hair. I have extended this way of thinking to "service" in general. If your attitude stinks so bad I smell it without you saying a word. The place of business will not get my business. I have saved myself SO MUCH money and have gained SO MUCH peace 😂😅
Oh my goodness this is EVIL 😢 I understand if they can’t pay ok but being very aggressive on cutting her hair while chewing that butt . I’m lost for words 😶 1:53
That evil spirit over my head is an absolute no for me if it's that serious I will cut it myself that woman most definitely cut the clients real hair .
@@JodiTheIslandGirl same here sis I was also thinking that too . If you can’t afford the style you want then don’t go that’s simple bc that’s also wasting someone else’s time.
I don't understand why the woman who had the matted boho style didn't go to the braider who did a beautiful job the time before (that she showed a photo of). She'd previously found someone really good that did exactly what she wanted, why didn't she continue going to that same braider? I'm a hairdresser, not a braider... But my clients come back to me over and over again. I've got regular clients I've had for over a decade. I actually don't take new clients anymore as my regular loyal clients fill my appointment book.
Stop Stoo. Please stop going to these African stylists to do research and find a much better braider. Our better yet do your own hair, yall be better off.
The lady who’s braider claimed to have period pain. As someone with endometriosis. The pain is unreal. No pain killer can touch the pain. I’ve had IV tramadol given to me by an anaesthesiologist and it didn’t touch it. So if it was true she should give the braider grace she was willing to finish later.
Some people truly make things worse for others, $160 for that braid is very fare and to get more discount while she has explained what was going on with her. Let's be real Some people do take advantage of services and pretend to be victims.

Jodi you’re ignorant for liking comments that are disrespectful to immigrants all because of this video. If people don’t pay for a service obviously the reaction of the hairdresser can be volatile. That goes for any ethnicity. This isn’t a continental fight just stop going to get your hair braided if you’re BROKE. Just as well as hairstylists should know their craft to avoid customers getting upset.

There’s no way I would EVER let anyone in , by, or near my head with scissors or any sharp object while they’re yelling hollering and upset. It’s mind blowing to me.
Right? I would leave and take it out myself at home. I don’t mess with Jamicians and Africans. They don’t like African American women. I’m good.

Question… do they have like braid size swatches in salons? Wouldn’t that be easier if you could actually choose the braid size from a swatch of sizes?
Good suggestion but I’ve personally never seen it
I have seen and experienced it. It works great.
@ it seems like it could avoid a lot of the braid size issues ahead of time
16 hours on top of the appalling service... Sometimes cheap isn't such a bargin. 🚩🚩🚩
