A book that disappointed me, eh? Tragically, there are several. I think the one I'm most disappointed by is Tempest of Tea. It sounded so good: people in dapper clothes having vampire tea parties? Sounds like my aesthetic. But tea ended up being too small a part of this book and it was also very confusing and had a ridiculous cliffhanger ending with zero resolution. I love We Hunt the Flame by the same author, but I've lost faith in her.
Oh man! That makes me sad for you, especially because you loved We Hunt the Flame by them. This was actually one of my anticipated reads of the year because of the premise. It definitely sounded like my cup of TEA (punt intended) and I wanted to give this author another chance. However, now I'm scared. Then again, who knows, maybe I'll like it. That would be funny. 😂
@@ginniereads I think you should give it a try! It has a few elements that reminded me of Six of Crows 😍😍😍 and there were some intriguing romance/dark dealings that had potential. The first half of the book was a bit of a mess IMO, but it picked up near the end. (Only to stab me with a confusing final scene and a cliffhanger tho)
