I'm in my 30s and aware of a good bit of these memes. I find this hilarious because it is so digestible and foreign at the same time. I'm sure there are comparable examples from the past but I don't remember my friends and I doing this level of comedy in high school. We were giggling at Numa Numa guy but at no point were we intelligent enough to parody past generations in translations to what might as well be another language. I feel like to understand most slang or subculture you just have to participate in it a bit but it still feels self contained. Whatever cliche groups you can drum up from memory there wasn't too too much crossover. Whereas these kids are making Battle Bus, furry, and gooner references in the same bit that bring together different cliques from across their age groups while at the same time never intersecting with specific sub cultures like the Gen Z rednecks even though those guys probably understand every sentence. It's genuinely impressive they've all Ven Diagram'd to the point that it's almost conversationally unique to English. I was pondering on this the other day how the Brits got from "Kate, that's your name, is it not?" to "Kate, that's you name, isn't it?" to "Kate, isn't it?" to "Kate, innit?" and now "innit" is a distinctly unique conversational term which can mean "is not" "is it not" or just as a slang affirmation depending on the context around it.
@@DKF_olibut his point kinda how random it is what goes viral or what becomes a "thing" and what doesn't, considering how that wasn't his intent with the original clip
Bro nah the cutting shapes joke and the let’s go as you ballroom dance ain’t just some random clip, that’s GOLD. Don’t undersell that bit, shit had me dying
6:40 i saw the original on my feed, it was like a 50k like (at the time of my viewing) ad for the glycine with a bunch of filters overlayed like Chinese girls dancing with an extremely candid explanation of their industrial grade glycine, and then it was basically just people quoting that video bar for bar or ai edits of it.
that wasn't the original; the original was ads the factory made showing their production facility, how they meet ISO standards, etc but the ads obviously didn't reach the target audience of manufacturers internationally and just hit like a general audience on tik tok. Donghua Jinlong actually posted a video with the marketing director or whatever and she said that they like were not expecting all the social media attention at all lol
the let’s fkn go thing is so funny because i watched the cody video then like 3 days later my whole tiktok feed was that sound and people doing the dance thing. then cody makes another video and referenced the original let’s fkn go joke and did the let’s fkn go i guess one and then 2 days after that video people are using that voice clip on tiktok
It’s funny cuz Noel felt like he was so informed, but wasn’t even familiar with the “flight takes a smoke break mid video” meme, he just thought it was a flight video lmao
Noel calling out how even people in their early 20s are left behind nowadays was validating because I wasn't catching ANY of these references in that first vid
Im glad Noel caught onto the glycine trend early as Donghua Jinlong’s marketing is still strong and remains strong as a superior industrial glycine supplier. Unlike Hubei Jingfa who is unreliable because they stole my girl
I didn't know what munting was until a few days ago. Student asked me if I knew, I said no, he told me not to look it up. Looked it up when I got home and I'm just like wtf 😭. Like gooning edging jelqing SURE, but NECROPHILIA? JUMPING ON THE CORPSE? It def takes work to understand the brainrot now
Bro I'm in my early 20s and I don't get this shit. This is late zoomer lingo. Bigger gap between early and late zoomers than Boomers and Millennials tbh
Nobody should be worried bout not knowing. You and your dad didn’t know the trend that was happening across the country 20 years ago and that was ok cause who cares. The internet makes everyone involved with what was once just local or within a friend group
Kinda all started when tiktok was in danger of being banned in the US, leading to ironic tiktoks about loving china/Chinese propaganda, because that was exactly what scared the government about its popularity; that it was secretly brainwashing american children. Then leading to these ironic tiktoks about loving this random glycine manufacturer.
Getting older is giving less fucks about whats popular be ause you know what you like. Its not a new thing lol this isnt a social media side effect. Literally every generation has that experience at some point. My Dad for example stopped listening to anything newer than Creed😂 Said it was just noise.
Noel genuinely laughing and Cody just confused shows who consumes more brain rot
Its funny how this is the new version of saying "I don't get what the kids are doing" which happens to every generation as they get older
dawg they aint even much older like im 23 and only understood half of those

In short what I'm trying to say is, I cannot let gang know I fw this
Facts I'm 25 and I feel 70🤣
@@donywahlberg this is like the more ADHD fuelled resurgence of YTP videos
The flight takes a break meme has had me in a chokehold for weeks
can’t let gang know i fw this
Cant let flight break cotton eyed j
No im not doing all this
cody officially hit unc status, he's doing research on memes lmao
i’m 20 and i deleted tiktok a couple years ago. i feel like a grandma because of how many references i don’t get
I’m 20 n deleted it when I was 16 it’s much better
Never downloaded it all best possible way to go 😂
I deleted it last year at 20 too and I feel out of the loop for sure. Its worth it for the better mental health though!
I'm one of those guys in their early 20s that have no idea what's going on
i’m 21 and i did not understand more than half of these 😭
Same
Same😭
amen brother
it’s so over for y’all
Never felt more parasocially connected to Noel than watching him attempt to explain Donghua Jinlong to Cody
Noel definitely tapped into the algorithm 😂😂💯
"a soulmate that wasn't meant to be" playing in the background of the coopnoop video is too hilarious lmaoo
being on the internet i think has actually made me more dumb like i was smart but i feel my brain is deteriorating
“i was doing tricks on it”
It’s weird how Noel didn’t care of Cody talking about him being a meme recently and just kept saying “yeah..cool..”
Noel’s reaction was appropriate considering it was kind of irrelevant and cody was like big-upping himself.
@@DKF_oliwhy not it’s something to be proud of
@@DKF_olibut his point kinda how random it is what goes viral or what becomes a "thing" and what doesn't, considering how that wasn't his intent with the original clip
@@DKF_olioh you’re reaching even deeper than hell with this lmao how was he trying to one-up him with what he said ?
Yeah like Noel said, I’m 21 and this is my only exposure to this kind of stuff, algorithms be crazy
The industrial grade glycine was originally an ad from that company that’s been memed like crazy
24 year old, can confirm this shit makes no sense to me, and i still dont know who sketch is really
22 & same
i’ve watched a whole documentary about this guy and i still have no idea who he is
noel is locked in with the memes
Nonblack ppl really just found out what “gyat” means, used it wrongly almost every single time, and promptly ruined it in almost no time at all
Fr 😭
I’m gen Z but I don’t use tiktok so spiritually I already feel 87
My brainrot started with floptok
4:53 I’m glad I’m not the only one getting these too
I’m a boomer gen z (born in 97) and I don’t understand most of it but it’s still pretty funny ngl.
“I was W about us” took me out 😂
prime tmg would be in an unbuilt studio rn
the jinxy "barrrraim" was actually funy
Bro nah the cutting shapes joke and the let’s go as you ballroom dance ain’t just some random clip, that’s GOLD. Don’t undersell that bit, shit had me dying
Just wanted to appreciate how amazing the thumbnail looks 😎

The meme I keep seeing of Cody is the “it makes you think” meme
The glycine joke definitely started as a real advertisement on TikTok from the company you can still find it
3:19 I don’t think you’re old I think you don’t scroll tik tok and demo your brain
the let’s fkn go thing is so funny because i watched the cody video then like 3 days later my whole tiktok feed was that sound and people doing the dance thing.

Please watch the breaking bad and Dune 2 brainrot edits
Gune: Part 2
Bro if we saw the same edit from dune lol. They need to watch this for real
The snowfall edit too lmao
It’s funny cuz Noel felt like he was so informed, but wasn’t even familiar with the “flight takes a smoke break mid video” meme, he just thought it was a flight video lmao
im 21 and i understood like 5% of the references
Munting is absolutely insane!
imagine if noel stumble upon pull up stuntin' meme, cody's gonna start using coke immediately!
I dont use tiktok and this felt like a fever dream 😭 i had just enough to get some of the references

Been watching cody and noel since the that's cringe videos. Im 20 now bruh
I love Donghua Jinlong high quality industrial grade glycine
The rom com skit almost sent me into a spiral, what was that 😭😭
Im glad Noel caught onto the glycine trend early as Donghua Jinlong’s marketing is still strong and remains strong as a superior industrial glycine supplier.
Unlike Hubei Jingfa who is unreliable because they stole my girl
Back in my day, any old weirdo could be Sketch

They should have coopnoop on the podcast
As someone in the target demographic of prime brainrot, our generation is FUCKED

I just turned 20 in February and I don’t understand it either

Im 23 and I fully get it all. Am i cooked?
I’m 23 and the glycine thing completely flew past me
I’m 22 and I understood almost none of it😂
i feel blessed to have witnessed glycine realtime, however, I wish the moth memes would come back..
Why does old noel look like my grandfather? Is he Bavarian too?
Early 20s here, literally 21, this shits total gibberish to me
Who is sketch?

they should’ve shown some of the cody memes they’re so funny 😭
I'm 29 and unfortunately way too within the zeitgeist
Wait I’m high as shit watching this I’m 19 and I actually agree with them
don’t worry even I don’t understand (early 20s) this is 100% gen alpha 😭not gen z
