Also, I’ve been told that the Dallas Zoo is going to revert their monorail into a walking trail attraction called Safari Trail, and will include new species such as Leopards, Hyenas, and Rhinos (they also plan on having them share an exhibit with Cheetahs!), they are also going to relocate the Colobus Monkeys, De Brazza's Monkeys, and Lemurs over there from Zoo North, as for most of Zoo North, they plan on turning most of it into an Asian themed area and will include new species like Indian Rhinos, Sloth Bears, and Orangutans, also, another fun fact, I used to volunteer there
I remember when they used to have rhinos. Last time I went, i went to their dinosaur attraction which was fun and surprisingly large I always liked how the Herpaterium has artwork of extinct species on the outside
I agree with the ratings here, since I went to Dallas Zoo in September 2020. If you need extra footage for your videos, I’d be happy to provide you some. Great job as always, Zach!
We’re travelling from Aus to the US in September and I’m trying to squeeze in as many zoos as possible! We’ll be in Texas and I think we’ll go to Fort Worth and Dallas zoo there. Appreciate your videos to help us choose!
Bug U was open as of June 2023, and I personally haven't heard any mention of the building being closed, it can be easy to miss if you didn't know it was there.
I remember when I was young I used to love the bug attraction. I believe it’s still there. It’s just hidden because of the other animals that they have at the zoo. It’s still one of my favorites.
Yowza! Ever visit the Dallas World Aquarium yet, Zak! And here are just 2 zoo trivia questions for you & your girlfriend.... 1) What is the name of a rescued female common marmoset that was brought to the Oakland Zoo from a private residence in Southern California? 2) How many calves does the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium's African Elephant herd now have so far this year? Pumping Datousaurus!🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘
I like the herpetarium well enough, but it definitely has a dated feel to it in my opinion. While the exhibits have changed a lot over the years and I do think that the species there have perfectly adequate environments, the building itself could do with a face lift. That said, I think that the Dallas Zoo generally does a great job with habitat design.
Thank you so much for watching! I thought it would be tough to choose between the two, but after seeing both for myself, I recommend Fort Worth by a long shot. Even though Fort Worth is smaller, it has two times more things to see than Dallas.
@@blockheadbrat4239 I live closer to the Fort Worth Zoo, and when people ask me, I always recommend it over the Dallas Zoo. A lot of people really don't want to drive to Dallas, lol

I recently got approved to volunteer at the Dallas Zoo. I live in Dallas. It’s great hear there are new species coming to the zoo.
why would you put cheetahs with rhino,s?
those cats getting their asses beaten.
@@rexyjp1237 apparently it's been tried at other zoos and has worked, but I agree, it doesn't sound like an ideal combo.

Oh wow, looks like Dallas Zoo has a fine amount of unique Animals I've yet to see! This makes me even more excited for my 2025 Zoo trip.
Great video, Zach. I can't wait to one day visit the Dallas Zoo. BTW, those baby elephants were too cute. Keep up the amazing work.👍

I was there last October. It was open then and I haven't heard anything about it closing.

That monorail was definitely a great attraction. I’m glad they’re trying to make something of the space. I hate seeing it turn to dust
Cool, you checked out my hometown zoo!
The best scene with the Hippo pooping is blocked 😂

hey!! just wondering what the usual turnaround time is between you visiting a zoo and the first video about said zoo releasing?
I live in a small city 6 hours from DFW. Which would you recommend to take a 1 year old? Dallas of DFW Zoo? And would taking a 1 year old be worth it?

How old is the little baby Africa elephant? I went to the Dallas Zoo last year and thought one of the was preggo but didn’t hear any mention of it.

Can you do this format, but for Omaha?
I’d love that
The southern part of the Dallas Zoo is superior.
It’ll get even better with the Safari Trail.

I’ve been to this zoo but in my opinion it wasn’t as good as the Oklahoma zoo in Oklahoma City.
