    *More info and other stuff!*
Since I wanted this to focus on being a ratings and rankings video, I left out the usual info and advice you'd normally find on my "Watch This Before You Go" series:
    *Zoo Map:* assets.speakcdn.com/assets/2849/sept_printed_map_2023_web.pdf
    *A Wilder Vision:* www.fortworthzoo.org/a-wilder-vision
*Forest and Jungles of the World:* www.fortworthzoo.org/forests-jungles
    1. Fort Worth Zoo opened in 1909, making it the oldest continuous zoo location in Texas (Dallas moved to a different location).
    2. The zoo is home to 500 species from 7,000 animals.
    3. The park is known for breeding a butt load of flamingos, having one of the largest collections of reptiles in the world, fast tracking new stunning state of the art projects, and are proud to be an international leader in elephant conservation.
    4. It's open 365 days a year and Wednesdays are half price admission. The zoo accepts both cash and card. My ticket was $20.
    5. Remember, Dallas World Aquarium and Dallas Zoo are an hour away. If you only have time to choose one of them, go with Forth Worth.
    6. This visit took place on a Friday in October. The weather was fantastic, I had the entrance to myself for a bit, but 5 minutes before closing and it became just as crowded as Disney's Animal Kingdom. The crowd only became an issue in MOLA.
    7. The entire park is 64 acres (same exact size as Indianapolis and Cincinnati Zoos), your visit will be at least a couple of hours and you'll only have to walk 2 miles.

Well done, Zach! The Fort Worth Zoo is one of my Dad’s and my favorite zoos we’ve visited in the last few years. I can’t wait to go back sometime to see Elephant Springs and the Predators of Asia and Africa. I can’t wait for the next tour!

Hey, local here. I'd say you rated the Zoo pretty well. I'd only change the placements of Elephant Springs and Texas Wild.
Fort Worth Zoo is in my top 10, but I still place it lower than Houston. Houston is a top 5 Zoo in the country. I still have yet to find a better exhibit than the Pantanal and I've been to zoos like Henry Doorly, San Diego and Columbus. I've also been to around the same amount of zoos you have, so I like to think I have a little bit of experience too 😅.
But my favorite part of Fort Worth Zoo is the themeing and Education. Imo no Zoo does better education than Fort Worth. No one. But that doesn't mean Fort Worth is perfect on that front either. Every single Zoo has room for improvement at all time.
For the zoos future you can find various articles and interviews that talk about what's to come. If you thought the Zoo was stopping at Forests and Jungles, you'd be wrong. Forests and Jungles though is said to be moving the Jaguar, Gorillas, Orangutans, Bongos and Ocelot, from everything I could find. Not sure what will happen with the Bonobos, Mandrills, Gibbons and Colobus monkeys but I have heard rumors that the Colobus Monkeys will move over FJOTW as well, but nothing concrete. Ramona Bass has also stated a 2026 date is being eyed, most likely Spring to early summer like the other projects.
As for new species the Okapi will be joining the Zoo for the first time, as well as Giant Otters. Tamarins are likely to join the lineup as well as the Zoo previously had displayed them at MOLA, but that's just my hunch.
As for what's to come after Forests and Jungles, Ramona Bass has said personally that Texas Wild will be getting a major face-lift. She said Texas Town will be staying which can only mean the animal habitats will be getting the face lifts. Nothing official is known besides that, but I have talked with people who say that the main priority is to give animals like the Cougars, Coyotes, Bobcats and Black Bears more space, which they are in desperate need of. The cougars I have heard will be moved to the old Jaguar space when the Jaguar leaves for the time being until this face-lift of the exhibit happens.
All in all I'm super excited for Fort Worths future. It won best Zoo in 2020 and has received many awards. (Though I am not a fan of the USA Today's system as its easily rigged). But this Zoo is what I like to call the biggest Cinderella Story Zoo in the United States. It went from a top 10 worst to top 10 best in a little over a decade and they're not even done. I can't wait to see where they go from here. I hope to take my kids one day to see the finished product with a renovated Texas Wild, Forests and Jungles and hopefully a revamped World of Primates. With how fast the Zoo is making changes, I think it will easily be a contender for best zoo in the States within the next decade. No zoo makes me feel more at home than Fort Worth. (:

@ggrarl really? If you could give me a source I would really appreciate it! The last official word I've seen was in an interview with Ramona Bass that said Texas Wild will be receiving a much needed face-lift.

I went to the Fort Worth Zoo as a kid for a field trip. I didn't end up going back until 2022, but I had a great time. It was neat to see everything that had changed, although I was disappointed that the African and Asian predators wasn't quite open yet. I plan on setting up another trip soon with my mom, since she has never been and really wants to go.
