My favorite stage of the Swiss part of the Via Alpina was from Kandersteg via Blüemlisalphütte, Gspaltenhornhütte, Sefinenfurgge (Bivouac with looking at the Jungfrau) to Lauterbrunnen - Kleine Scheidegg - Grindelwald the next day. But honestly - I liked all stages…
Those areas around Griesalp and Kandersteg are magnificent! Unfortunately, my bivouac was full of clouds, so there was no Jungfrau view. There was something so special and peaceful about this Surenenpass hike with the dramatic clouds and no other hikers. But agree - the whole Via Alpina is such an experience :)
Thank you for your kind words ☺️ We do try to stay mostly above the when possible. Switzerland has a lot of wild camping rules, e.g. no camping on nature/wildlife reserves etc, near water sources etc. Check out the Swiss Mobility app - you can add different layers to make sure you're setting up camp in an acceptable place. Otherwise, you can camp on land if you ask the landowners permission. It's also best to pitch your tent just before it's dark, and take it down first thing when you wake up. A single overnight stay is usually unproblematic - if it is done considerately. :) Happy camping! Feel free to ask any more questions. I am thinking of making a video on this topic soon to help more people when hiking Switzerland ☺️
I did this stage the last week and for me it’s near off the hell and one the hardest for this part Sargans to Grindelwald. I did Altdorf - Engelberg is a longest stage whis a lot of height
One of my favourite stages along the Via Alpina! Which one is yours?
How beautiful! ❤
Amazing 👍

My new favourite channel. Heading out next spring/summer. A little worried about wild camping on the trails. Any advice?
Thank you for your kind words ☺️

It definitely was a big effort to ascend the 2000m, but the views were breathtaking. Have you finished your via Alpina from Sargans to Grindelwald?
@@InWilderPlaces yes in 7 days and in 2021 i did Montreux to Grindelwald. For me it's the best part of via alpina between Kandersteg to Grindelwald.
