    Nooooooo! That pebble!!! Great test and video, but the expensive motors did only as good as the Sport Tuned. Interesting data! Fingers crossed for the next one! 😎👊👍

      Thanks 🤝 Yeah result was unexpected (but on par with RPM). And the tested Sport Tuned was a vintage one, far from new. Next run, most iconic Tamiya motor (and one of his "brother") 😁🤝

    More and more people in this speed run. I really like the motor teating. Great work.

    Awesome I like your scientific aproach. Although the results might be not the ones you had hoped for. Best wishes for your next runs

      Thanks 🤝 Well, while more expensive, the Superstock ?Z are rebuildable (easier to clean, can change brushes and true the commutator). Also, they may be more suited for dirt track, than speedrun. I wonder what the RZ would do, but I don't have one. Next vid will be very vintage... with the most iconic Tamiya Motor... ever 😁🤝

    Interesting......
    I'm actually quite suprised by these results fella.
    The GT tuned was a little quicker than I was expecting, and the superstock a little slower!
    The GT tuned in my Avante 2011 is absolutely gutless, it was so slow I removed it after just one run.
    The Superstocks however are a firm favourite of mine, and I have many RZ, TZ, and BZ..... I was expecting closer to 30mph with the TZ in all honesty.
    I highly recommend changing out the bushes on each end of the rotor to proper bearings on the superstocks.... It's a fiddly job but well worth the effort.
    These motors run very hot stock, the bearings help keep them a bit cooler, more efficient, and give a slight speed increase to!
    Enjoyable upload mate. 😊
    👍 👍 👍

      I'm with you. The GT Tuned was bland on the rpm bench, but performed better than expected. As for TZ, I was disappointed by the rpm, so much that I dug out the BZ and RPM were the same ( this almost eliminate a so-so ) motor 🤝

      Adding that I will probably add bearings in them. I was not impressed by them (1 in Super Astute, 1 in Egress) but let's not forget these are 23 turn... not 14x2-17x2 like we used for example in late 80's 🤪

      @@coygtrc
      Bearings definitely help the overall efficiency and temp..... and I gained 1mph speed on average by fitting them.
      The RZ is the best of the three, slightly quicker than the BZ and TZ.
      Like you, I found the BZ and TZ equal.
      And yeah, I miss the sheer choice and variation of the eighties brushed motors for sure! 👍 👍 👍

    I cant say I have ever laughed at a crash but I did. Way to make it interesting and humorous. Great data to be us a later date for me.

      The bumps and pebbles have haunted me since the 2023 TT02 Poor Boys RC Speed Challenge 😫

    Well shit.... Sport Tuned motor just as fast as the Super Stock and half the price..... Great runs and this was a real eye opener... Time for the more exotic, vintage motors..... Bummer that it went belly up, I know how that feels.... Great runs and again, awesome dyno tests...

    • @coygtrc
      @coygtrc  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We have to take into account that they are fully rebuildable, contrary to the Sport Tuned. Next run, most recognizable Tamiya Motor. We'll have to wait for the crazy motors 😁🤝

    • @UncleBobsRC
      @UncleBobsRC หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@coygtrc Agree and was going to mention the fact that the brushes can be replaced and the motor is "serviceable" opposed to a "sealed" can motor... I am getting ready to add ball bearings into my BZ motor to see if I get any more performance over the bronze bushings, rumor has it you can get from 300 rpm to 800 rpm more (I need to double check this).

    • @coygtrc
      @coygtrc  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I will probably add BB, too, in BZ and TZ. With the right tool, it's "easy". I'm a bit lazy these days and too many motors to prepare 😢

      @@coygtrc I hear ya Gabe, can I call you Gabe or do you prefer Gabriel? A hair dryer to warm up the can at the output shaft end and they almost fall out, as for putting them in, (heat also) a wooden dowel 8.25mm really helps seat them back in, could use a brass or alloy punch too, the endbell is super easy..

      @coygtrc  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Gabe's fine 😁I used a Muchmore bearing removal tool (not Tamiya motor, but similar 23t type), without a sweat 😉

      @@JoevsRc Nice 👍 Got the dyno on Ebay but not common. Not the best as there's no torque value, but here, we want to be the fastest, not the most efficient around a track 😁
