If they won’t add guns they could at least add a pillager with a cannon. I want a reason to reinforce my walls besides the aesthetic. And raids simply aren’t challenging enough once you have the late game gear. Perhaps the difficulty could scale up with the age of the world, like the pillagers make advancements over time

A system similar to this would be great for vanilla. Improved raids, raid defense, raid rewards, etc. Not the exact mechanics as this but something built on top of the existing raid system to make them challenging, rewarding and something you can do as your main game. They should be less frequent so you have time to rebuild and do other things but frequent enough that you’re challenged. With increasing difficulty levels of each raid.
well if theres like 100 plus villagers registered in a village there would be higher pillager patrols nearby spawning in, as the pillagers would be prepping for a bigger raid, it gives you a hint that the illagers are coming too, then they come in after a certain amount of days since the first patrol,

Mojang needs to add flintlock firearms. The parts should be gotten through piglin bartering like a firing mechanism and a stock. Musket balls can be made via smelting iron nuggets, and will be used up as ammo along with any gunpowder in the inventory when loading the gun. This system of requiring gunpowder and musket balls along with needing piglins to barter certain gun parts, could perhaps create a slower, yet more effective variant in the ranged class.
Would be quite cool, and give piglins a useful purpose outside of pearls for the portal, cause right now they arent really useful for anything but the first few pearls to get to the end, and even that is useless if you find one of those blue nether biomes

I do personally hope that mojang/microsoft adds some form of ranged weapon balance, you have your lower damage, higher firerate. Then you have your slower firerate higher damage. But, currently crossbows and normal bows do about the same damage. Crossbow is slightly more accurate, and a hell of a lot more expensive, so it really isn't worth it.
Maybe an arrow quality/ type update. Arrows, Barbed Arrows, Diamond Arrows?. Maybe the crossbow uses bolts, and does more damage "Like a considerable amount." And the crossbow can actually be enchanted with something USEFUL. Multishot is cool, and I think the shoot through mobs with one shot sucks. And quick reload just turns your crossbow into its already better counterpart.While the bow gets. POWER V. "A one shot kill in some instances" FLAME and Infinity. The OP bow is just too OP, we need a serious ranged weapon. with some serious damage. And some OP enchants.But even then, what else is there, guns are surely a no go. I doubt cannons. "But we already have cannons. TNT cannons are pretty easy to make honestly" So what else is there, maybe a dart pipe, "Bamboo pipe, made for shooting poison darts" Even then, it would be expensive, and would need potion effects to even be remotely useful, But oh wait, "99% of mobs are undead. and immune to poison" and bows and crossbows have it too. Long story short, I doubt ranged weapons will ever be able to overshadow the bow and arrow. Yes, what we need in Minecraft now is an arrow turret thing that will shoot arrows at any hostile that comes within range. Maybe even a fire arrow upgrade later down the line.

Any gun designed before 1898 and that uses black powder is legally not a firearm in the US, therefore by that logic, minecraft should be fine with colt navy m1951s as well as Winchester 1873s
