The son was late returning home from the shooting range, and the dad heard about the Trump shooting, so he called the police and told them that his son and gun were missing. That’s very odd. If my brother were late returning from the range, I would just assume that he got a flat tire, or ran into an old friend and they decided to go for a burger. It would never enter my mind that he was out taking shots at the former President! I’m thinking that there must have been discussions in that home about a hatred for Trump so extreme that the father immediately suspected his son when he heard about the shooting.

Diagnosis doesn't mean cure or effective treatment. Do not conflate the 2 to blame the parents. Having issues also doesn't mean you think your son is going to try to hurt people. It is far more complex than the layman logic you are trying to use.

Everything I have heard doesn't make any sense. There is no way the 20 years old pulled this off by himself. How did he know this building was not going to be covered. Now some are saying he took the ladder there, how is that possible???.
20 yrs old is not a baby. The only shocking thing is the poor security detail.
Have a feeling he scouted the area first + had the ladder at that time because nobody seen him carrying it in, not only that but the building was supposed to be the Temp. Security Headquarters of Operation, how they didn't know he was above them is also suspicious.

I’ve heard two conflicting things; 1) the dad gave the son the gun to go target shooting (shooting range) and 2) the dad called authorities AFTER the shooting because his gun AND son were missing. Both can not be true! What is the truth!?!?

Legal to loan. in my state south Dakota a kid can have a firearm and use it for work at age 18 but they can’t buy one until age 21. In that case, law-enforcement specifically told me I could loan one of my firearms to my daughter. And she carried it for work for a year or two.

His father is a behavioral therapist and apparently not a very good one. It appears he has an eating disorder by the looks of him and has a son that became a murderer. His father's phone and computer would devulge much of what his family is about. Why was it that his son had a college degree but was working in a nursing home cafeteria? Why are no current pictures of him showing how different he looked now. When on the roof, you can see his hair is longer and his body is that of a man, not a little boy with braces. We're not getting the truth.
Are we to believe, they have no clue, he was mentally off? One news article said he lived with his parents until he was 18, had a fight with his dad. Moved in with his grand parents for a while, they confronted him for doing drugs.

🤔hummm, So here’s what I ask myself , Self the kids parents are counsolers and didn’t notice the kid was three fries short of a happy meal , yet the ole man let’s him barrow his AR to go to the shooting range , others , neighbors say that Thomas was quiet and kept to himself, important question for the father was his son politically motivated did he talk about anything to his parents what triggered Thomas to do it , he definitely planned it as he made a bomb and had things planned to go there to the rally , I don’t know if it was legal to kid use the fathers gun , but the father finding out that your son was just executed for trying to assassinate Trump has got to be gut wrenching for him, still trying to figure out the FBI goes to the parents house for questioning , why weren’t they brought in, this isn’t a bicycle theft , his kid just tried to kill trump wounded him and killed a supporter and wounded another, the FBI in plain clothes not uniforms, something isn’t clicking , how did Thomas get on top of the building ? Not Only did this kid’s mom and dad just find out that their own son was just killed. They also found out that their own son just committed murder and attempted murder on others with their own firearm. This is a horrible horrific situation that no grieving parents could ever imagine going through. You are a fabulous investigator. His family are victims too. They lost a family member. As bad as what he did was, he was still loved by his family. I doubt very seriously that the father knew he was going to try to assassinate Trump or he would have tried to stop him. I encourage you all to pray for his family as well as the innocent man's family who lost his life.
So strange both parents are counselors! They were out of touch with their own kid: that he had been bullied throughout school. He ate alone in the cafeteria, and he favored wearing camo to school. That, to a counselor, should be a shout-out that their son didn't fit in at school or seem to have friends! Why had they not been in regular touch with his guidance counselors? What did they make of him being more than a loner, but rather someone with no friends?
Just think...if their son had been a client of one of the parents, he would have gotten more attention!!
I'm not talking about being legally liable: hell, he had never even had a counselor/therapist! How out of touch are his parents? Now if he had been diagnosed as having anti-social tendencies or someone gave a damn about him not having any friends, well then his parents at least would have recognized that he doesn't fit in, and either encouraged to lock up firearms without him having access at all, or a diagnosis where firearms wouldp not be allowed in the house, or at least under double locks.

No matter what they might have suspected or not suspected ... it's a very stressful situation for them any way you look at it. They can't even grieve normally right now for their son because of the investigation and all the suspicion and finger pointing. Just think even their neighbors and friends must be looking at them funny. They have to feel very alone. This is all still unfolding. Time will tell (maybe) if any of it is warranted or not.

First of all, neither parents will be charged or arrested because he was considered to be an adult. He was 20 years old. He may have told his dad something and did something else instead. meaning he lied to his dad. Had he come out and said, I need the gun, I'm going to see Trump...His dad wouldn't have gave him the gun to use. So even tho he lived at home with his parents, he is considered an adult. Now because this was an attempted Assassination and an assassination happened (firefighter dad who lost his life) and 2 others were critically injured...I'm not sure what may happen. But the parents have no involvement in the actual shootings other than owning that actual gun.

There is nothing on his phone, nothing on his social media, no id on this young persons body, authorities only ID him by DNA/biometrics but this only took an hour. Something doesn’t make sense. The parents shouldn’t be charged in any way, shape, or form. This 20 year old ADULT often would borrow his father’s gun or guns, as both of them were members of the gun club. It wasn’t out of the ordinary so the Father probably initially thought nothing of it when his son asked for the gun to go to the range. It’s also been reported that the father immediately called police after the shooting. Doesn’t seem as if he has anything to hide.
Thomas had no criminal record, no disciplinary record in school, no record of mental health issues to my knowledge. We can’t just say, “well his parents should have recognized something was off about him over the years if he didn’t give off any major red flag concerns

Totally legal. Federal laws state 18 to purchase rifle and/or rifle ammunition, 21 to purchase pistol and/or pistol ammunition. Loaning rifle to family is legal if over 18, pistol if over 21. If firearm was permanently transferred it might be viewed as a straw purchase (ATF are experts at that). Purchasing 50 rounds of rifle ammunition is odd. It usually is packaged in a small box of 20 rounds. May have been a bulk purchase by weight if from a range that reloads. Suspicious is the van appeared to have AZ tags. You have to be 21 to rent a vehicle. Please do your due diligence prior to reporting instead of tossing innuendo. Separate yourself from MSM. Investigate the vehicle that came in the night. Look up the plates on the PA DMV website. As Joe would say "C'mon man!"

FFL holder for years. Big question is where's the accomplice. Needed help to at least get to the rental agency. He may have had fake ID to rent, but I know from experience that they checked pretty thoroughly. Maybe dad or accomplice set up rental online? I know U-Haul has AZ plates on all of their rentals and they gave small passenger vans available. The more answers we get, the more questions we have. I pray the family of the FF killed will be able to eventually find peace.
