    I read about dust inside of the sigma and tamron lenses. I never read something like this about the sony lens. Even it has no stabilization, I would go for the sony anytime. You can film with a gimbal, but not with a dusty lens.

      @@ジキシン You know what though? I had the Sigma and Tamron and even without stability Sony is still more stable. It’s hard to tell explain it. Sony lenses are built for Sony body.

    I keep coming across your stuff - we’re on similar camera journey’s 😊 I just need to actually vlog once in a while.
    Anyway, I was looking at the 16-55 because I find that my tamron 17-70 has a weird shake with active stabilization. It’s slight, but enough that I’m now looking at Sony native lenses.
    My question:
    In your footage, we’re you using active stabilization? Do you use it when you vlog on the fx30? I’m using the a6700, so very similar in terms of crop etc.
    Bonus question: do you shoot everything at 60fps and edit with a 24fps timeline? Or do you just jump to 60 for slowmo? Thanks 🙏

      Hey thanks for watching and commenting! I've owned a couple of Tamron lenses as well and have noticed that stability was an issue. I am using active stabe. It pretty much is the default. In regards to framerate. I shoot at 24p normally. When I shoot slo mo I'll use S&Q mode at 60fps.

    Yeah it's definitely a super clean lens, really ticks all the boxes for focal length on apsc.... but the price is rough. No OSS which is unfortunate but then again, I don't think we've seen a small 2.8 lens with OSS yet. Price : Quality ratio, the Sigma slaps, but misses out on that near 85mm (apsc) length which the Sony barely achieves, which is super nice.
    So far the go to is the Sigma 18-50 f2.8 & Sigma 56mm f1.4 (just gorgeous) for running around / B Roll.

    • @noisackda2564
      @noisackda2564  ปีที่แล้ว

      That setup you have is perfect! I have the sigma 18-50 as well. Amazing lens. The reason why I prefer the Sony lens is exactly what you said. Plus I self vlog a lot and the 18mm is way too cropped in. I also love the physical feel of the Sony lens. It fits perfectly on the FX30 🥹. Price like you said is gross though 🤣

  • @TimBrownTown
    @TimBrownTown ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Man, this one is another incremental step up from your last as far as overall production quality. I specifically noticed you are getting a good blend of "shaky" and super-stabilized footage when you change scenes. I'd love to see the 16-55 on APSC vs the 20-70 on Full Frame. Those should be very equivalent when it comes to focal length, bokeh and lowlight performance. Maybe...I think the full frame might do better with the dual-based ISO for lowlight. But, I'm curious. Maybe when you get back. Make some affiliate links and I'll definitely use them if I can when I purchase anything, although it might be a while.

    Great lens! I had to make the decision between this and the Tamron 17-70 2.8 apsc. I figured that one is better since it has more range and would match my Tamron 11-20.
    Fumbled it about 3ft onto carpet at a convention and now all the gears are out of alignment. Great lens but i guess that's where the lower cost comes into factor.
    Anyway great shots at Japanfest!

      Thanks man. I think you made the right choice though. The value to quality ratio is much better on the Tamron. Sony is a little overpriced but I find the quality of their lenses are a notch above third party lenses. Everything from build quality to performance is one touch above but at a cost.

    Learned a ton just reading through the comments on this one! Sure does look like a nice lens. However, the active stabilization is better on the FX30 than the ZV-E10? Just wondering... I enjoy how you basically mesh together a vlog, yet a review on a lens at the same time! Well done Noi!

    • @noisackda2564

      Thank you! I quite like this vlog actually. I think I have a pretty good formula of life vlog plus camera gear review but I get really bored really quickly. I can't do the same thing over and over for too long.
      To answer your question about the FX30 vs ZV-E10's stability. I think they both have the same level of stability but because the sensor on the ZV-E10 is so old it can't handle rolling shutter thus giving that camera a visibly worse perceived stability. With the ZV-E10 I always have to run everything through catalyst but for the FX-30, I just shoot with active and I feel that it's good enough. Still shaky but I sort of like a bit of shake.

    • @TravelingAhn
      @TravelingAhn 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@noisackda2564 Thanks for the clarification, I had a feeling there had to be something improved on the FX30 and you reminded me of how bad the rolling shutter is on the ZV-E10 :P
      I literally bought a gimbal just to avoid having to use catalyst! Maybe I'll just have to sell all my APS-C equipment eventually and dive into Sony ZV-E1 (or ZV-E2 if that comes out...I still have a way to go to gain knowledge on the mirrorless camera side)
      For now, I'm really happy with the Pocket 3 and the Action 4 combo. For me, since I don't have the camera knowledge (yet)...I should focus on the "Content"

    • @noisackda2564
      @noisackda2564  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@TravelingAhn The pocket 3 is pretty much perfect for vloggers. I thought long and hard about it but there's something about the artifacting in low light that I feel isn't quite there yet. Plus I love color correcting so much and it still looks like the log files on dedicated cameras are still a cut above in that regard. It's getting damn close though. Maybe two years away. Then I can ditch my camera gear and roll with a small set up like a pocket 5 or something like that :P I can only dream haha.

    hi, I was ready to hit pay order for this lens when I suddenly came across the fact that it's not in the compatible lens list for focus breathing compensation on either the a6700 or fx30. You think that matters? I plan to use it both for photos and videos.
