@John Martain Sentry broke the 4th wall. And accomplished a feat not even Thanos comes close too. If we're gonna get into an actual fight Sentry blitzes Thanos and will do what he does most and that's tearing you in half.
To be fair Tony had him in an even fight, but lost once magic (Plot device) happened. It's actually bizarre that Tony, Reed Richards etc don't study magic at some point. They even have Strange on speedial.

But either way sentry has no physical weakness for doom to exploit, no mental illness, his magic cannot do any lasting damage to the sentry, he has nothing as far as technology goes to hold or depower sentry, sentry has returned from being destroyed at a molecular level by molecule man, sentry cannot even be banished to other dimensions for long, he is faster beyond's doom comprehension. Unless doom can gain access to some object of insane cosmic power doom has really nothing to use on sentry that will work for long or do anything other than piss him off. And that by excluding the scenario sentry won't just rip doom's head off before he even utters a word.
Comics change so much (lately, the changes have been capricious), but this particular issue confirms what I've maintained since Doom mastered magic to Dr. Strange's level of adroitness. There's NO WAY the Fantastic 4 could defeat Doom in battle: the Avengers only won because of the Sentry. Great vid, by the way.

What I love about doom is that he always gets stronger everytime. Like this this he was defeated by sentry but next time he will know how to deal with him.

I'm 100% sure sentry is just a plot device, because he's so powerful. There would probably be a way that doom could DEFEAT sentry, but I don't think you can put him down for good. Robert reynolds asked thor to kill him while he was in his mortal form, and he did. Sentry still came back.

This was a crappy fight. Tony wouldn't have gone into a fight with doom so half-cocked, and doom couldve really wrecked them. I'd love to see a story where doom takes the kid gloves off and just explodes their heads without all the nonsense fighting
I don't know what you're smoking. Luke Cage, Terrax(no herald powers) and Invisible Woman have beaten the crap out of Doom. According to Marvel Dr.Doom is on par with Ares and Wonder Man and far inferior to Sentry. The Mighty Avengers put together is an overkill. Secondly, Doom has literally beaten the likes of Galactus,The Silver Surfer, The Beyonders(This one is especially impressive considering these guys were able to beat the Living Tribunal), and the Marquis of Death(A universal reality warper). Quite frankly Doom with prep destroys the avengers.

I actually keep with me a moment of Doom's fictional life with me in real life. In the 80s during secret wars, he is trying to steal the Beyonder's power. He has to reach this one button to push to siphon the power, but the Beyonder is vaporizing him, Doom, never gives up. He is at the moment of complete annihilation, He says something like; " I am Doom." and reaches out with the tip of his finger and gets the power!

Sentry's a Telepath on Par with Xavier. He wiped the entire planet of his existence for years. It wouldn't work, plus do you really wanna be stuck in there with the Void?

Not really gonna do much since Morfan Le Fey used her magic to travel back in time and kill sentry before he ever got his powers and he still somehow manage to come back to life after that.

I dunno. I think Dooms Armor wins out tbh. Iron man's suits do some cool stuff, but in one glove doom can launch missiles, teleport, make force fields... Iron man may be the third smartest man on earth, but Richards and Doom will always be tied for first.
@@spiffygonzales5899 Tony has some amazing gadgets in his armor as well. There is a reason doom could not win just with his armor in this fight. Tony is constantly upgrading his armor just like doom. And I am not sure about who is smarter since they have both outsmarted each other more than once but they each have some advantages over the other as far as howthey think and the way they operate. Tony is constantly fighting armored opponents and makes his armor better and better each time. If they both prepared for an armor to armor fight it will probably end in a draw because they are just too smart and experienced with their armors.

the funny thing is. in 1986, Dr. Doom was the most powerful entity in the entire marvel universe. Do you think he could not have written some kind of cheat code into it? O r made himself emporer in perpetuity? Silly mortals. Dr. Doom may have smeared himself across all of comicdom. And, he may just have been the right man for the job. Sounds kind of similar to the world right now.
A few problems: 1. Osborn and his armor are absolutely no match for Doom, and to suggest so is ridiculous. Doom wouldn't have engaged in fisticuffs with a lower-level life form. 2. Doom being taken unawares by a clod like Sentry is unimaginable. He'd have some kind of energy siphon or other device ready to deal with Sentry's predictable attacks. This is a man who took down the Beyonder and stole his power for himself.
That was Stark, not Osbourne, at that's what the comic says. And there is no Energy siphon whatever that could take Sentry's. Absorbing Man tried and failes doing it because there was too much. He could only take a bit of it the next time. He killed the Beyonders by using a Bomb made by MM. MM Molecularly dismantled Sentry and he came back and wiped him from existence. There's nothing Doom could do to Sentry to take him out permanently, he Can't Die. Antimatter is Sentry's only Weakness and that just makes Void Stronger. If Void came out on Doom, He'd have NO chance. What could he really do to someone with Nigh Immeasurable energy and Strength without the help from someone else. And how would he not be taken unaware? Sentry is much faster than any of his machines can detect in a reactable time
Just so you know, read the editor's claim in his interview about secret wars and time runs out: basically he said that the beyonders dying moment was pis because the beyonders were supposed to be omnipotent but they had to end time runs out and start secret wars somehow so they went for that. In short Doom, Strange and MM killing Beyonders was pure no sense but they had to do something for the sake of continuing the story
He may not have earned his power but he is one of the most tragic characters in the MU who constantly has to keep himself from going on a rampage. He has the power to save everyone on the planet but by doing so, the Void will respond by killing an equal number of people, and by doing nothing, it's practically the same as he protecting everyone so the Void will still attack. The only thing that works for now is for him and everyone else to forget that he exists. He is just a guy who somehow managed to tap into Marvel's greatest source of power, a primordial entity known as Lifebringer one also known as the first Sentry. He can't ever be free of the Void.
Kinda pathetic of Iron Man to get Sentry to save him, beat up Doom, and then spouts, “Recognize my authority now?” Come on dude…that was all Sentry…stop flexing on Doom…

This was a crappy fight. Tony wouldn't have gone into a fight with doom so half-cocked, and doom couldve really wrecked them. I'd love to see a story where doom takes the kid gloves off and just explodes their heads without all the nonsense fighting
I don't know what you're smoking. Luke Cage, Terrax(no herald powers) and Invisible Woman have beaten the crap out of Doom. According to Marvel Dr.Doom is on par with Ares and Wonder Man and far inferior to Sentry. The Mighty Avengers put together is an overkill. Doom MUST have a really big fanbase for this stupid comment to be liked that much.
@@alissa6 Firstly, that story was decades ago and is probably non-canon. Secondly, Doom has literally beaten the likes of Galactus,The Silver Surfer, The Beyonders(This one is especially impressive considering these guys were able to beat the Living Tribunal), and the Marquis of Death(A universal reality warper). Quite frankly Doom with prep destroys the avengers.

@@alissa6 The reason I labeled it as non cannon is because its from the silver age where comics cared more about wacky stories then they did powerlevels. Secondly if you're gonna discount all of those previous feats as "bs" then logically so is Dooms loss to Luke since Doom consistently fights opponents far beyond him. Also I agree Doom loses to Sentry without prep in a straight fight, thats obvious. But the thing about Doom is, with prep he can become one of the most dangerous people in the marvel universe(Provided his ego doesn't get in the way). Anyway at the end of the day these are just comics, lets just agree to disagree and go on our merry way.

I actually keep with me a moment of Doom's fictional life with me in real life. In the 80s during secret wars, he is trying to steal the Beyonder's power. He has to reach this one button to push to siphon the power, but the Beyonder is vaporizing him, Doom, never gives up. He is at the moment of complete annihilation, He says something like; " I am Doom." and reaches out with the tip of his finger and gets the power!
That is huge!

Armor to armor doom and ironman are equals but his magic is a problem. Tony certainly has some counters but not enough in his standard armor.
I dunno. I think Dooms Armor wins out tbh. Iron man's suits do some cool stuff, but in one glove doom can launch missiles, teleport, make force fields... Iron man may be the third smartest man on earth, but Richards and Doom will always be tied for first.
@@spiffygonzales5899 Tony has some amazing gadgets in his armor as well. There is a reason doom could not win just with his armor in this fight. Tony is constantly upgrading his armor just like doom. And I am not sure about who is smarter since they have both outsmarted each other more than once but they each have some advantages over the other as far as howthey think and the way they operate. Tony is constantly fighting armored opponents and makes his armor better and better each time. If they both prepared for an armor to armor fight it will probably end in a draw because they are just too smart and experienced with their armors.

...if they both prepared than Iron man would have no chance at all... the man has siphoned powers from Gods. He has an entire nation who not only fears but almost zealously follows and supports his rule. He regularly builds doomsday weapons that can destroy planets or even Galaxies.
Iron man is a badass dude don't get me wrong, but there's a reason only the fantastic four or the Avengers regular fight him. Hes that big of a threat.

the funny thing is. in 1986, Dr. Doom was the most powerful entity in the entire marvel universe. Do you think he could not have written some kind of cheat code into it? O r made himself emporer in perpetuity? Silly mortals. Dr. Doom may have smeared himself across all of comicdom. And, he may just have been the right man for the job. Sounds kind of similar to the world right now.
A few problems: 1. Osborn and his armor are absolutely no match for Doom, and to suggest so is ridiculous. Doom wouldn't have engaged in fisticuffs with a lower-level life form. 2. Doom being taken unawares by a clod like Sentry is unimaginable. He'd have some kind of energy siphon or other device ready to deal with Sentry's predictable attacks. This is a man who took down the Beyonder and stole his power for himself.
That was Stark, not Osbourne, at that's what the comic says. And there is no Energy siphon whatever that could take Sentry's. Absorbing Man tried and failes doing it because there was too much. He could only take a bit of it the next time. He killed the Beyonders by using a Bomb made by MM. MM Molecularly dismantled Sentry and he came back and wiped him from existence. There's nothing Doom could do to Sentry to take him out permanently, he Can't Die. Antimatter is Sentry's only Weakness and that just makes Void Stronger. If Void came out on Doom, He'd have NO chance. What could he really do to someone with Nigh Immeasurable energy and Strength without the help from someone else. And how would he not be taken unaware? Sentry is much faster than any of his machines can detect in a reactable time
Just so you know, read the editor's claim in his interview about secret wars and time runs out: basically he said that the beyonders dying moment was pis because the beyonders were supposed to be omnipotent but they had to end time runs out and start secret wars somehow so they went for that. In short Doom, Strange and MM killing Beyonders was pure no sense but they had to do something for the sake of continuing the story

Reminding me why I love Doom and can't stand the sentry. Doom's power has been earned. Sentry is a Gary Stue I can't stand.
Earned by what? He basically solos 90% of Marvel heroes effortlessly. Without help. Even when they group up. Foh
He may not have earned his power but he is one of the most tragic characters in the MU who constantly has to keep himself from going on a rampage. He has the power to save everyone on the planet but by doing so, the Void will respond by killing an equal number of people, and by doing nothing, it's practically the same as he protecting everyone so the Void will still attack. The only thing that works for now is for him and everyone else to forget that he exists. He is just a guy who somehow managed to tap into Marvel's greatest source of power, a primordial entity known as Lifebringer one also known as the first Sentry. He can't ever be free of the Void.
Kinda pathetic of Iron Man to get Sentry to save him, beat up Doom, and then spouts, “Recognize my authority now?”
