When I was 18 in the Air Force and I got to my first Duty Station and the first weekend at Tyndall AFB I went to a BBQ party that I was invited to at the Chapel. It was a group of Navigators / Group of Christians that happen to be in the Military. This LT who's house I was at had a 73 Honda CB125 for sale for 60 dollars. It worked with nothing wrong but it was butt ugly. Painted in Primer red, mechanically sound. I paid the 60 and took it home. I registered it and I rode it around as it was my only method transportation, till I bought a CB350, then I got a Kawasaki H1 500, a Yamaha 64 YM250 and an XLH 1000. And Chevrolet Monte Carlo. So I had purchased quite of few bikes from guys that were getting rid of them for pennies on the dollar. The Grom seems to be a CB125 in street fighter clothes and the young kids who have gravitated to riding scooters are starting the graduate to the Grom and they have Grom Clubs. Underneath it all is't really not any different than the old CB125. Top Speed 65mph....

I love these little bikes! My first bike was a 2016 Honda Grom and after 2 riding seasons ( 5-6 months off due to Norwegian winter each season:( ) I had 35.000km on the bike! I lived on that bike, drove it for 5-6+ hours every day I could. I am 100% sure that I had more fun on that little thing than many others do on 600cc or liter bikes. I was scraping pegs, I was redlining it everywhere and just having an absolute blast. The bike was definitely abused once it was warmed up but it never missed a beat and started every time without issues, only did regular service as stated in the manual.

Funny steering was probably the steering head a little tight ( common ) . Chinese plastics ( especially the switch blocks ) fade crack and break pretty quickly and there’s always the issue of spare parts availability - the sellers will tell you the Honda ones fit , but try going into your Honda dealer and being asked for the vin number ( because even the Honda ones vary from year to year ) . Otherwise , they do go pretty good
