    Very talented man. Imagine going in with no rehearsal in front of 15,000 people playing for Elvis Presley live !!! And Elvis has a good ear & is not afraid if he thinks the engineers have not set up the sound properly or if the band should speed up or slow down...I always felt the musicians & backup singers were a very very big part on Elvis's success. They worked as a team, & were dedicated & they loved Elvis. Bond or kinda like a family.

    This is great. You can bet Elvis knew a new guy was playing in the band. I’d say he was paying attention to the intro with focus on the new guy. Elvis saw musicians in a acute individual way. He admired them in their own individual right and what they could bring or add. The fact that he stopped to shake his hand I believe was Elvis way to let him know to relax and don’t be afraid to apply what you feel fits. I have worked with many musicians that play with top artist. Recording & live. It’s how they make a living. Some make enough money and busy enough to not take up side work. But many will come in the studio and lay tracks in a heartbeat. Can’t wait to see the rest of this interview. Thanks Billy for being the gift that keeps on giving.

    You have so much new informatin on Elvis. If you could put it in Chronicalogical order, you would have a new movie with scenes no one has ever had. Man that would be one great movie, and I'd love to see it. Look how many people listen to these stories, after all these years. And how many people visit Graceland each year. I saw an Elvis concert in 74, and visited Graceland in the early 80's. It would have to be a long movie so nothing would be left out, lol. He was such a fascinating man.
    That's probably wishful thinking, but it would be awsome.❤Thank you spa guy.

    Billy I have said it many times here how important the work you are doing truly is.
    I love seeing you in the comment section of other ppl’s videos too! You’re always doing your homework. This isn’t work for you, as much as a passion and as cliché as it may sound, but true, when you find something you love to do...I feel your passion with each video you make and I think it’s safe to say so does all of your other fans!
    Today I’m going to raise the bar and say that EPE should hire you to be a part of their PR team as well as many other things you have knowledge on and can bring to their table!
    Tonight I went by the Paramount Building, here in NYC and thought of you! It’s where the 30 foot cut-out was unwrapped for all to see for the premier of “Love Me Tender.” I took a few pictures but then the cops asked me to leave because I really wasn’t supposed to be parked there. He saw my badge I left in the window as I was leaving and said whey didn’t I mention that sooner. I thanked him and told him why I was there and even though a rookie cop said man that’s cool!! I will have to go back in the day, but with the bright lights of Times Square you would think it’s daytime. Lol.
    I was trying to just envision what it must have been like. I wonder what became of that cut out and if it even still exists today?!
    I am going to do a little research about the old RCA Building recoding studio and see if the building is still there and if so, will do my best to film some stuff for you and send it your way.
    Elvis really didn’t spent much time here in NYC, except for the MSG concerts and the ones ( was it even more than one in LI?) in Long Island, ( I think I mentioned my friend who sings a lot like Elvis and how he got to see him first row at both concerts, that’s a whole story in itself.) along with the early parts of his career with the Steve Allen show which was produced by Jackie Gleason. I also happen to be a big Gleason fan and many people don’t realize he is credited with many hit albums, while he never even played an instrument. Gleason would hum melodies he heard in his head and he tighten up! There are some stories about Gleason and Elvis and how Gleason knew he was going to be a big star.... Along with the Ed Sullivan shoe, really big shoe lol.. with his traveling via train with the army! I know he was in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, as well as a few other train stations here in the city.
    So any places you can think of Elvis being in NYC, just leave a comment back here. I am fortunate to know a lot of fine people here in the city and will be able to get my way in any buildings of importance you see fit.
    I’m really hoping the old RCA recording studio building is still there. I know it was on 28 or 29 street on the West Side of Manhattan. Elvis only recorded there one time.
    Then there is the photographer who followed Elvis around the city and took some very intimate photos of E that I felt captured the essence of what Elvis was feeling during this time!
    I would like to find any of these spots here in the city and see if and how they changed.
    I feel with all the joy you have done for me it’s the least I can do to repay you back.
    I have some good video equipment and if you give me what you think would be good for a video I will tighten up for you
    Last thing is I have a very good friend who is a higher up at MSG so anything there I can get definitely get a green light on!
    Thank you again for all you do and I’m sitting like glue for the next follow-ups to this video!
    Great work as always!!

    • @SpaGuy
      @SpaGuy  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Starlite, What I would like to do is when I am able to get to New York to film you help meet into the places I need access to like MSG.. I do plan to film there it may be next year before I get to it but it is a must film area..

    • @starlitekaraoke113
      @starlitekaraoke113 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Spa Guy awesome. Out of all the places MSG will be the easiest for me to get you into as I stated I know one of the higher ups there.
      Let me do more research on the RCA building and if you could think of any places I should know of, don’t hesitate and this way I could take a lot of the leg work out of it for you, so you could actually enjoy New York City!
      Dinner is also on me as I promised! It’s the least I could do. I will also show you some cool spots if you’re into history, which I think I know the answer. Lol

    What an amazing career Mr. Ogdin had in the 70's and 80's playing for some big talents. I never knew he was part of the TCB Band. Boy, I haven't heard Charley Pride's name or the great Tom T. Hall's name in years! I especially loved Charley Pride! The big hit / gold record - song by Sylvia I believe was "Nobody'" which was a great song and I remember it well. Great interview and looking forward to parts 2-4. Thank you Spa Guy. Question...Did David Briggs leave the TCB Band because he started dating Linda and Elvis found out about it?

    Billy I love your videos, I’m from the uk but me and my dad are huge Elvis fans and we’ve been to Memphis a number of times and loved it. I have a question for you about Elvis that’s really bothering me and my dad and it came about because my dad just happened to say he didn’t think Elvis was actually buried where his grave is! Which got us both thinking that there is pictures of Elvis everywhere and video footage but we cannot find a single picture or video of Elvis being moved from Forest Hill to Graceland? I mean you would think that there would be something like from one of the houses overlooking Graceland or a fan at the gates when he’s coming home or even if his grave at Graceland being dug but there is absolutely nothing. Do you know of anything? I have my suspicions that he’s actually in the underground vault that’s apparently somewhere at Graceland. Please help so me and my dad can stop arguing about it haha tighten up friend 👍

      Hi!! I know Elvis was moved from Forest Hills to Graceland after someone attempted to rob his grave, I dont think the attempt was successful. I believe Vernon Presley (his father) had to get a special permit to have both Elvis and his mother buried on Graceland grounds. Keep in mind, at that time, Graceland was not open to the public- it was Vernon's home. If I think of it now; they are always doing burials or other work at every local cemetary- so, noone probably noticed at the time, and I am sure it was kept secret until it was over and done.Someone could drive anything through the gates without it being known.Also, there used to be a security guard stand in front of the pool,so noone could have seen in back at the time. I do believe that Elvis is buried at Graceland. They even moved Gladys's tombstone there also. There is a picture of Vernon kneeling by Elvis's grave after it was moved to Graceland, and he wrote what is written on it. I hope that helps a little...

      Also, i believe the vault was put in when Graceland opened for tours. When it first opened, they had vehicles parked on the lawn,and his things were more accessable- but once it became a huge success they realized things had to be preserved much better. i believe it opened in 1982.
