    Great use of space. You managed to change a tiny space into a luxury retreat.

    Love this - calm, sleek, and unfussy, but warm and welcoming at the same time. This must be a lovely space to begin and end your day in. It's the opposite of my own personal bedroom space (very dark walls, lots of layered greens, at least three prints...) but works perfectly in your home and it seems to suit your own vibe very well also!

    Love your talent, speaking style, and video format, reference photos and tips Reynard! I'm so glad my favourite design guru lives in the same city as me! I usually don't post comments but it's wonderful to know that your tips can apply to Australian homes and you make note of suppliers that we can access in Australia.

    This looks quite great for being a budget friendly project. I have drawn a lot of inspiration from this because currently I am trying my hand at renovating my small room! Thank you, Reynard! ❤

    Regarding the roughness of your sanding job on the scones, a light sanding between coats of finish will knock down the bumps and leave you with a smooth finish.

    I really like those side tables! Great choice. I would use cord covers for the sconces too. (I bought mine on Amazon. I like the kind that snap shut and keep the cord secure.)

    Reading the comments was interesting. I had no idea perfect strangers had so many opinions for other bedrooms. I actually like your linens. I like the curtains. They let you focus on outside and don’t distract you. Plus your weather is warming. A big fluffy set of linens would be awfully hot. You made beautiful, cohesive choices. You and your partner’s comfort and happiness are what really matter.

      What a weird comment. You’re baffled people are giving their opinions on a video uploaded to TH-cam? And then go on to also give an opinion… lol

    Reynard, your bedroom looks cozy and relaxing. One question: the chair back looks extremely close to the wall. No breathing space or perhaps that is just an illusion in the videography?

    Hope it works for you and you are enjoying your space but definitely a design not in your usual level. Those windows urgently need your sheer linen curtains layer trick!

    Thanks Reynard. Beautiful job and it still looks masculine, except for the lamp shades. I like the "no-frills", but cozy result. The colors are great. I didn't want to mention that your old duvet cover was thin linen and just looked messy, this bed looks very neat.
    Your drapes could have used a little texture, not so flat of a weave. Some nubby fabric a little like your rug would have given the drapes more interest and look lighter with organic character. Very small criticism but the drapes look boring and are a focal point. Maybe in real life they don't look like that.
    Sconces look fine, but if it bothers you, you could still very lightly sand, then use tack cloth and recoat. How about a long very narrow console for the TV? Great TV, I have never seen those, but it just seems to float in space and easy to kick it over. Every piece of furniture is perfect and high end. Congrats on your new house, wonderful view.
    Thanks again. I haven't seen the other rooms, I didn't know you moved. So have to see them all.

    • @reynardlowell
      @reynardlowell  หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Re curtains, it looks a bit better in real life, but I do agree they're a bit boring. Good news is we did it on a budget, spent less than $250USD on it (all in), so I'm quite happy with it considering the price. It's not meant to be permanent yet so don't want to spend too much for now 😅
      TV is actually sturdy, but there's definitely better panels out there if picture quality is of importance.

    • @rockshot100
      @rockshot100 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@reynardlowell Hindsight is always 20/20. The color of the drapes is perfect but that is the only thing that slightly bothered me. It is a small thing and considering the price, WOW, the room is excellent. I could leave comments like all the rest, "gorgeous", but you are a serious designer, and I thought you might want the feedback. Since the drapes look like a blank wall, maybe you could put a tree in front? You have plenty of light and that might break it up visually. Maybe you could hang some things from the ceiling? I would give you a big tree but I am in Florida, USA, LOL.
      It is hard to tell what the TV looks like, but if you say it is "grounded", I believe you. I was thinking a light looking console like with cane doors and legs might balance that side of the room better, since it is opposite the bed. I cannot really see, but I am sure you've done that already.
      WTF? 250? That one chair is worth that. Amazing work as usual. I really enjoy watching your vids above all the other ones, I learn a lot and you never try to force a big fake personality on the viewer like the rest do.
      Thanks. 🤩🤩🤩

    What is the height if the wall sconces above the floor? We want to put some into our bedrooms but dont know what height is ideal.

    Wow, I think this is my favorite make over yet! It gave me a lot of inspiration especially incorporating some green in my bedroom. So far my bedroom contains earthy tones like beige, brown, oak and only neutrals otherwise (black and white). I have a question regarding curtains. The window in my bedroom covers only on one half of the wall and directly below the window there is a radiator. In the sense of asthetics I would love ceiling to floor curtains, but it wouldn’t be very practical because of the radiator, right? I would love some insight! :)

    • @anaalves3658
      @anaalves3658 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Have you considered Roman blinds? Do you need/ want curtains for privacy? Or just for aesthetics? If the latter then you can hang them past the edge of the radiator so that it doesn't interfere with it's function.

      @@anmol1964I like hotel rooms however they tend to be quite similar. If we are talking about most hotel chains, very clean, minimalist and contemporary but lack character - not homely/cosy . I think that's the reference here

    I like everything except the bed linens. They look like something a teenager might have. The bed needs more texture or luxury, as it currently looks too flat. This will complement the beautiful headboard, rug, chairs, and wall sconces.

      We lived with those in Fiji, the cockroaches flew around the ceiling upstairs at night. The big noisy fan wobbled the one time it was switched on, I have just purchased a home which has these fans in the bedrooms plus floor to ceiling mirror doors on the wardrobe facing the bed. Your ikea suggestion re replaceable wardrobe doors hopefully are tall.
