This song makes me feel at peace with the fact that times get really rough and that you can only do so much and at a certain point you just gotta take your demons head on and keep it going. That’s what life is really about just going on and pushing through and living for those happy moments that you never forget and help mold the story of your life. Keep it pushing and accept the absurdity of this universe in a world where we try to keep our lives as organized as we can while we exist in such a chaotic place.

Victor Moses split the holy waters during the freeing of the Jews and in most depictions carries a large staff. Earl is saying with his "makeshift staff" he will split you like the Red Sea.
Actually he was saying that he’s the messiah of this generations rap and that with his makeshift staff / (the mic) he’s sending ripples through you parting your mind away from wack rap to see the truth
LYRICAL BREAKDOWN: "moses with a make shift staff sending ripples through ya, and in the land (and)bend the river been the plan but, when I go to grab it, it slither out my hand" this scheme is in reference to the biblical tale where Moses is challenged by the pharaoh who wont let his people (moses) leave Egypt. In the tale, pharaoh summons his best black magicians who turn their staffs into snakes with black magic, but they are quickly defeated when Moses throws down his staff and it turns into a giant snake that swallows up all of their smaller snakes. This reference could be interpreted as earl saying that while his plan is to split the river and set us (his fans or whoever he considers his people/ the water being our minds) free, his staff (his mic, or a reference to the music industry/ people around him) become snakes and wont allow him to. Thus leading into the next bar: "so on the other hand I been handling business (taking back control of his music and what he wants to do with it) momma told me man up, so now im Pop-eye(both a reference to the sailor man cartoon and having crazy eyes) with the anchor (saying he's holding us/himself secure to land) tatts and the spinach, finna spazz on a nigga if I have to". “I listen to my past when it whisper to me, half of it make sense, my nigga half of it riddles to me, Moses with a makeshift staff sending ripples through ya”
Pretty sure it's not an Alchemist beat. The beat is the same as 'Children of the atom' by Captain Murphy which is produced by Flylo and Madlib. Alchemist may have slowed it down slightly but more or less sounds the same
May currently be absolutely wired, however the point remains the same. Really is a 10/10 song. The alchemist X earl album was great but so hard to beat a song like this. Could be a perfect tune. 7 years and gets better with every listen.

Under the account Thebe Kgositile. The name is different (Ease Up, Off) but the song is the same.
There's only 1 EP on the account (Hubris) but it has a few unreleased (to my knowledge) songs. Not sure if this is Earl or not but it's pretty unknown so i figured I would share it with fellow Earl fans!
is it on apple music
Not there anymore.
every morning before my Junior year in highschool, I'd listen to this while taking a shower. I get flashbacks every listen and i can feel the concrete under my feet and the rain pushin on my back. gd to think these mems will only become weirder and weirder and more distorted. And its crazy how one song can let you time travel. ty Earl
Your shower has a concrete floor?

“I listen to my past when it whisper to me, half of it make sense, my nigga half of it riddles to me, Moses with a makeshift staff sending ripples through ya”
By far my favorite Earl song, and I can't figure out why it resonates the most.

This is the alchemist? Had no idea! Makes sense why i love the beat so much
This is the alchemist? Had no idea! Makes sense why i love the beat so much
Pretty sure it's not an Alchemist beat.
I remember where I was when this came out
I agree but Geb was close enough. Too bad it isn’t going to be included in the official release 😢
that s good music man , when you can repeat it and not get bored
man he went deep on this like nobody gets the message.... sad world we live in and a young fucked up generation but we need to educate ourselves and live a decent human life my nigga shout out Swamp Vermin doe.....

“As far as I can see I done confronted all the shit I couldn’t walk around”
The intro might be the best part. It just sounds so depressing and it sounds like a person that is constantly feeling the Intro is in pain. Earl is rap’s The Caretaker
Now that I think about it the rest actually is better
Fuckin beautiful all of it
The first time I heard thing song, I was 16. I’m not going to blast the store but, the codeword was “I’m 18” and we would get packs and packs of Marlboro black 100s listen to this and hang out in random hallways around the city whilst skipping school for 3 years. Wouldn’t trade it for anything I’m 24 years old now with children. Good times 🥲
Earl needs to make his songs longer! It's not a coincidence that his best song is 10:00 long
stairwell for kids and which song is that?
solace
Prince Tufon Huey is so amazing I wish it was longer.
If anybody is wondering where the beginning comes from? It’s a movie called CoonSkin.. check it out.
Taking this song into 2020, a true underrated classic.

[Intro: Eugene McDaniels]
They landed at Plymouth
With a smile on their face
[Verse]
My whole disposition like fuck who told me to sit
Ten toes on the cement, lil weed in my socks
Sin - do songs to repent, clean up my thoughts
We in a box, see a lot of niggas talk on the bench
A lotta father figures followin' trends, I ain't involved with 'em
Lemmings like to fall off of cliffs and bring they squad with 'em
I seen God in the mirror drinking, I tee off when the spirit hit me
And I don't fear the ending, I feel the envy
I listen to my past when it whisper to me
Half of it makes sense, my nigga half of it riddles to me
Moses with a makeshift staff sending ripples through ya
And through the land, and the river been a plan
But when I go to grab it, it slither out my hand
So on my other hand, I been handling business
Kinda shabby but my momma told me "Man up, my nigga"
And now I'm Popeye with the anchor tats and the spinach
Finna spazz on a nigga if I have to
Risk takers know Satan knew dance moves
It could be your last move
Hard to see the glass half full, when you don't have food
Wrist dangling like black fruit, nigga
[Outro]
Crossing all my T's
And I'm dotting all my I's
Gotta watch out for debris
When it's fallin' down
As far as I can see
I done confronted all the shit
I couldn't walk around
Keep a piece when you on the ground
Leakin', you hard as Hell
Keep some wind in my sails
Walkin' down La Brea
Name ringin' bells like we got some mail
earl stay with the bars
I see God in the mirror drinking,
I tee off when the (Holy) Spirit hit me

What kind of artstyle is the image???

Crazy bars and flow. This song is just as good as the first time I heard it.
This is, in my opinion, one of his best songs. I wish it was on Apple Music.
you can find it in the trash can. with the rest of earl songs.
