Little Blitz yeah, his X-ray vision as to what is going on inside the building is amazing. I'm surprised he didn't call for the deck gun like he does on most posts. He has a serious deck gun envy
Gotta love how he uses his pet phrase "Visible Burning Material" (or really trying to sound cool, VBM) on almost ever argument. He recently cut back on it after I called him out by telling him no firefighter I have ever talked to says it. (One of whom is a friend with LAFD that I have known for over 25 years.)
Great job, only comment I have is why didn't the FF at 3:30 take a few moments and shut down all the power to that building? The breakers were right there on the left of him. (Under the flap covers below each meter.) EDIT: Should have watched the whole video first, command does kill the power at 7:57... but I guess the question was still kinda valid. LOL
I watched the video and then read a bunch of comments. What the Average person doesn't get is amazing to me! The following is what you REALLY SAW and didn't recognize or comprehend. 1. The burning material is Visible at the top of the stairs and the porch to the apartment. With an officer in perfect view of both, the guy on the nozzle knocked down the stairway fire and That is where the fire fighting Stopped. The officer should have told him to hit the porch area to stop ALL Visible Burning Material. 2. While the VBM was left to burn, the officer went through a long drawn out Plan of how to stop this fire from spreading instead of focusing on Stopping it where it was. The soffit to the roof was being threatened while he was Planning. 3. The nozzle guy was told to wait for help which Never came so he SMARTLY took it upon himself to climb to the top of the stairs to make sure that area was extinguished. Then with no help forthcoming, he opened the door to the room and extinguished the fire inside. 4. At the far end of the building two or three guys prepared to perform the Braindead tactic of roof venting. Those guys are taken right out of the equation and the guy on the hose is left to fend for himself. 5. They needed Everyone to pay attention to this Obvious and Small fire to make sure it didn't spread. They were extremely lucky that guy on the nozzle took the initiative to get the job done instead of WAITING for help that wasn't coming. That, is what really happened here.
You're really full of yourself and have no reason to be. "VBM". That's hilarious. I've seen the same kind of commentary from you before and you just sound like an ass. Really. You're embarrassing yourself.
If it wasn't for the guy on the nozzle being aggressive the entire building would of burnt. Operations officer is not a firemen he needs to get back on a medic unit and leave the firefighting to the firemen.
What I've always preached in my dept. Move like molasses. Slow, thorough and cover everything. Great job brothers
this is my apartment , it was crazy ! but firemen did good at putting out the fire fast and saving our dog
Wow, glad you and your family got out safe. Hope you recovered by now. Your fire fighters were on!
Nice work, slow and steady wins the race. Great delegation by the officer!!
That was professional, nice knock down and control.
Excellent job by E1's Skipper and everyone involved!
That's how it's done. Great job, and the video proves it. "That's my captain right there!"
Good knock down guys. Early stage fire but effective/prompt/controlled response. Wish more were like that!
Great video, very professional. Nothing rushed; all well thought out. Great work
I have been in that young man's boots, the urge to "just do it yourself" is almost overwhelming.

The asshole trolls every fire video.

Great Job, Good stop
Just curious. Does the building code not call for staggered roof lines to indicate fire wall placements and ratings?

That, is what really happened here.
Oh, shut up.
The phony fireman strikes again!
You’re a joke! You’ve obviously never been in an attic taking a beating when the roof was being opened!
