- The first mission of the 4th Syphon Filter! The only mission without a par time, and it isn't necessary to beat this mission if you want to get to T4, but it is necessary for 100% completion as it does unlock several weapons for your loadout. They include the Scorpion auxiliary weapon, the Smoke Grenades, which are very important, and your first knife, the K-Bar.
I believe this is the first legitimate HD let's play for this game on TH-cam? Correct me if I'm wrong. Very excited about this Let's Play!

Well now it is. They stopped making games in the series and it's for the old consoles/PSP
I believe the game ended when Logon (forgot how to spell his name) died.
Syphon filter is a sick ass game..
If they ported this to ps4, same graphics with working online, I would pay $60 today. I wish Sony Bend would make a sequel.

To this day, this is still my favorite PS2 game I ever played, even more than Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2. The amount of customization felt endless.
My dad use to play this game when i was a kid, too bad we don't have it anymore.
I remember back when I used to play Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror all day online on my PSP on that desert stage 4v4. Was so much fun xD
This was the very first shooter I got on my Ps2 and it was hard as hell. I could never get past the first level when your looking for samples until this year. I guess I was too adolescent to know what was going on but finally understanding it the game is very fun and awesome.
Roll under that if it gets to dark use a flashlight but be carefull they will be able to spot u easy shivi across that u can interact with that i remember those lines a lot from this Training level
Thanks for this walkthrough. I loved the first 3 Syphon Filter games and when I picked this up shortly after it came out, the control of the character seemed odd. I tried to play it on 2 different occasions and just got frustrated at the controls and difficulty of just the first level. After watching your walkthrough and following it step by step during my 3rd attempt at trying to play, I managed to beat all the levels. I walked away with a sense of accomplishment and actually ended up enjoying the game.

This game had some cool secondary and bonus objectives... i was only frustrated at the fact that you need to completr every mission under par time for better rating and rewards... but the levels are made for you to explore..
Explore first rush later. The par times are pretty hard to beat without preparation anyway

You don't even need a PS2, it's available for cheap on the PSN! I still have my disc copy from 2004, but for those who don't, there's hope.

+Randall Flagg game is much harder to complete without the PSN capabilities. It was meant to be an online multiplayer title but they got shorted on budget and had to scrap together a single player mode to recoup finances

I'm surprise that they still haven't HD remake the original Siphon Filter trilogy on the PS One. I will be checking out this playthough though.
Its just not the same as the original trilogy. Looks and feels like a totally different game (not talking about graphics). The PS1 games are still among my favourite games ever, but from this game on the Syphon Filter series ceased to be just that, and became a generic 3rd person shooter. Saying all that, I would be ecstatic to see a full remake of the original trilogy, so long as it was done right and tried to keep the feel of the originals.

Agreed. Everyone seems to like this game and praise it for being one of the best but honestly it's lackluster compared to the first and second game. I like the soundtrack and all but the game's a mess and the controls are god awful when you want to do stealth. I feel like it's better with online play, though.
I never played the originals cause i wasnt alive lol, but i played the ones onwards after this and i fell in love with the series. I wish i would have played the OG trilogy.
I remember I would play this level just to see how far I could get where all of Imani’s voice overs would overlap from the beginning of the level to 5:42 before it stops lol.

It’s kinda ironic how Imani tells you that you have to move bodies while under fire seeing as you have to do the same with hers in Myanmar

Fun and interesting gameplay, the story could have been the worst but the game itself was great and I still would have liked it.
This is biased but I'm a sucker for personal customization and this game was heaven for me in that aspect. I'll even say that's what made this game awesome.
Some missions were stupidly difficult to fully complete solo because of the need for multiple players (oh my goodness, the Imani retrieval stage had enemies every couple seconds while trying to lug her back...) but still it lenient in lots of aspects and still so much fun to play.
I really may consider getting a PS2 just so I can play a whole lot of the older games I adore or maybe I can find a whole bunch of good stuff on PSN.

Dude i wish that this was on steam i rly miss this game portless games of the past Full charactor customization Hard to unlock guns and non lethal's.. i say no lethal but the tazer was anything but if i remember right :D

I played this game all the way thru to the end of the first mission and gave up on it because of the save feature for some reason.

I like the game. By the way, do you find it odd that the training course isn't actually a training course? Because if it was, the guns wouldn't use actual bullets.
Well, you're actually using paintballs in the training course. It just seems like bullets because there's no paint ball mechanic in the game, but all the enemies in the training course are actually IPCA operatives.

I used to play AS Logan. Suddenly playing as Logan's field agent feels weird.
Mission 17 gives you Logan back.
So if I've made par time on every mission, can I redo every mission without worrying about my mission times being overwritten?

yea i have tried the emulator and it works. However, my pc has a lack of memory and vga T_T so when i try to play it with emulator, the FPS are so unstable T____T
I would buy this game if this was ported to ps4. The U.S Region has the game on ps3 for digital download. It would be awesome if they did that for Australia Region or all over. I really think alot of people will play it.

I don't understand the whole hatred for this game, I think this one was the best version of the whole series, syphs 1 - 3 didn't punish you when you failed a mission, you just restarted at the last check point. Here if you failed a mission, or took to long "to bad" for you. Though my only spite with this game is that it is like you said impossible to complete offline. Who thought that was a good idea to cut split screen?
they probably hated the fact that you have to play as nameless agent instead of logan.
and since logan is a sideline in this game, story is just boring.

i'd ask you to play again on ps2 hardware, but in composite video or ps2tohdmi.
PS3 sucks to send the best images on PS1/PS2 games to nowadays TV.
I did play this again on composite video output via my ps2 into the hdpvr, and the image quality is about the same (see my full play through of this I uploaded last month). The only way to get proper top HD footage is an emulator on PC, and I don’t PC game ever. This is still 720p, though. So that’s solid
@@The_Buff_Guy I get it, but somehow the brightness from this campaign gameplay (the dark/night ones) is pretty low comparing to the others ones I watched. I get it when you said you play on PS3 and I ran some tests to see which is better to play. PS2 composite made my HDMI PS3 to eat dust.
