I'm surprised that the 7 Tails didn't have Lightning Release. Because Rhinoceros Beetles in Japan are also known as the Thunder horned beetles.
Interesting, instead of tailed beasts bombs, I would've thought the tailed beasts would've used a chakra nature as their strongest attack

Kirin (Qilin) are legendary chimerical creatures form chinese mythology actually having some chinese dragon-like features (as depicted in Naruto), being later associated with giraffes after the voyage of a chinese diplomat/explorer to Africa (he though they looked similar). In lue of that to this day both creatures share the same name, not only in chinese but korean and japanese too!

Yep. In this case, the Kirin came before the giraffe.
Im pretty sure it is the other way around.
Qilin is a misinterpretation OF a giraffe when it was described and drawn to the Emperor of ancient China after a visit in Africa. Take a creature with stubbed horns on its head, a veeeeery long neck long hair running down its spine and stag-like appearance with dots that could very easily have been drawn badly and over time looked more like scales overtime and you have a Qilin a few years later. I mean it adds up, both a giraffe AND Qilin share these traits.
Dragons are almost always based on a exotic weird looking animal from another place and then misinterpreted into a dragon.
While Qilin is not a dragon, you could understand why a giraffe that was described like above would be influenced into looking like one by a dragon oriented people and place in a piece of ancient art.

I still look it as foreshadowing of him eventually using it, we've only ever seen him use it with thunderclouds in the sky
highly doubt that’s the case since, i don’t watch boruto but i saw the sasuke vs urashiki fight and i don’t think he’d waste time trying to hit urashiki with a fire style jutsu, he purposely aimed it in the sky to summon kirin, i don’t think he’d make unnecessary movements fighting someone who bodied him ergo wouldn’t waste time using a fire dragon if he could just immediately summon it.

Great list except you forgot about Gale style light of fang, which although it's technically a sage/senjutsu style, it has lightning release. It's widely considered one of the strongest attacks Madara used

From what I have found this is actually a storm release not lightning.
I thought for sure that Mabui's heavenly transfer ninjutsu would make the list because of the instant cellular disintegration it can cause by teleporting people, but then I realized that it wasn't a lightning release and was just some really obscure, non elemental ninjutsu.
You can’t really use that on humans tho unless you can somehow repair the body…

Weirdly I think lightning cloak (or whatever its called) is the strongest when it comes to likelihood to win you a fight. As the ones above use loads of chakra or can only be pulled off with other OP abilities. In those cases you would be better using the other OP abilities and the lightning cloak. It basically makes you better at everything you do.

I thought Vanishing Rasengan was a Rasengan with Wind Release added to it, not Lightning... Hence the whole fan upset when Boruto could throw it without Sage Mode (I know, because it's so small, that's why he's able to without Sage mode, but at the time, the fanbase was furious) Also it makes more sense being Wind Release with being Naruto's son.

My take on it is that the Kieru Rasengan(Japanese name) is actually Boruto accidentally using both Wind and Lightning Release: the Wind Release makes it throwable, the Lightning Release makes it invisible...

Sasuke can use Indra's arrow whenever he wants. It's just it would be far weaker as he doesn't have enough chakra. But even post losing Rinnegan, a weak version of this jutsu can be used.

Indra's arrow is a lightning release arrow which requires WAY too much chakra... more chakra than even Naruto could ever hope to have. And Sasuke realistically could enter that form again... just it would exhaust him immediately.

Earth release is my all time favorite release. The techniques are awesome, it’s incredibly versatile and the characters that use earth style are awesome

When edo itachi fought edo nagato he very quickly used the totsuka blade to seal Nagato!
If Itachi was sirious about fighting Jiraiya, the fight would be over very quickly.

Sasuke came up with Kirin after seeing Kakashi and Zabuza fight with water dragons.
Kirin being a dragon is what happens when ancient people get gifted exotic animals(giraffes) then having that person describe that animal to an artist who is also not familiar with that animal so thats why giraffes became some sort of mystical creature to anyone has never seen one before

Sasuke was going to use Kirin on Team 7 early in shippuden. I don’t think he needs to make storm clouds I think he can use his own chakra. And I’m pretty sure during his fight with Itachi he doesn’t have that much chakra left, that’s why he literally tells Itachi “this will be my last jutsu” he made the storm cloud so he wouldn’t have to use as much chakra, the storm cloud did probably make it stronger tho
I find this man’s hatred for Sasuke extremely funny also just makes him for like a actual person. I have mixed feelings about Sasuke but just hearing him yell about Sasuke or try to put him down always makes me smile for no reason
What I don’t get about the chidori is why Kakashi didn’t just slow down. The chidori doesn’t amplify your speed, that’s just Kakashi running as fast as possible. So why not slow down? It’s not like it’ll reduce the cutting power that much.
Well they’ve used it while standing still when they’re in close quarters combat, but it’s most effective when they’re mid-long range. The anime doesn’t do much Justice by allowing us to see them move but it’s all supposed to be something that can happen within the blink of an eye.
It gives you a tunnel vision of sorts, they could only control the direction as much as they could because of their sharingan , that's why he made purple lightning

He told Kakashi that he had the destructive force (the chidori) and the speed needed for it (Kakashi’s actual speed) but running as fast as he does gives him tunnel vision. It’s never stated nor implied that chidori amplifies speed. It’s just that most shinobi don’t run full speed in a straight line like the chidori requires you to.
But it seems like the running is done to increase the piercing power, which makes no sense to me given it’s a lightning style jutsu.
Actually, the chidori doesnt increase speed but since its a assassination technique, it is best used at full speed so they use it at full speed, otherwise if they use it at slow speed, then itll be kinda trash

I'd argue in the Jigen fight, they never got a moment to really prep for that. He'd have to find time to use chakra to make thunder clouds, while managing his chakra to avoid chakra rods that were pinning him. He was also trying to juggle enough chakra in case they had to retreat. There's also the weird planet or dimension they ended up might not even have the same atmospheric conditions like Earth to create thunder clouds the way he wanted.
And even if he could form it, while Jigen can't absorb it or shouldn't, he could either shrink himself to avoid it's path at a well timed moment. Or shrink the lighting itself with sukunahikona.

I think you shouldve put Chidori and lightning blade in different sections. Chidori and Lightning are essentially the same but the users make it different. It is shown that kakashi's have more destruction power which is why its called lightning blade do to slicing through lightning. Its also shown different in the game. When sasuke uses chidori he just palms the users body while when kakashi uses it, its called lightning blade, and it actuallly pierces through the opponent instead of just touching.
If I’m not mistaken that’s half of Kurama chakra plus Naruto’s, plus some from all tailed beast plus sage of six paths chakra also with a huge amounts of sage mode chakra amped up to equal Sasuke’s indras arrow

When Giraffes were introduced in china, merchants sold them as kirins (the mytical beast) thus the namw for Giraffe in both chinese and japanese is Kirin.

That's not correct, He said that Sasuke as a 12 year old only had enough chakra to use it twice, If you run out of chakra you die in Naruto, Kakashi at the same time had enough chakra to use it 4x.

What is the difference between purple lightning and chidori? It’s said that purple lighting is a “slower” jutsu, but what’s stopping the user from just… moving slower when using the chidori? What does the speed of the user have anything to do with the jutsu itself.

If there is a Genjutsu equivalent to Shinji's Shikai from Bleach it would be a devastating combination with Tsunade's Dearangement Jutsu. You wouldn't be able to move properly or see properly.
Thought Lightning Blade was more compressed and had more Chakra put into it than Chidori. Basically a hole put into you by Lightning Blade would be smaller than Chidori but a greater impact.
They are literally the same technique the only difference is who is using it. Its chidori when its anyone other than kakashi and lightning blade when it IS kakashi. Thats all.
What about the heavenly transfer technique that throws the raikage#3 and #4

Black characters in media with lightning abilities are copies of the original chacter know as Black Lightning. For a long time DC comics refused to pay the creator for the chacter of Black Lightning so instead they just kept making more characters with the same abilities, and Marvel followed suit.
