    Hi Bud, just set up my 1st Third Reality water sensor & it paired, as you have shown, perfectly with SmartThings. To test I set it in a little water & it immediately started its alarm & SmartThings set off a notification. One question is that I didn’t receive a metal bracket or wire probe with packaging. I’m guessing you don’t need it as it worked perfectly, just wondered if they now just don’t sent it along.

    • @BudsSmartHome
      @BudsSmartHome  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Dan. It’s an extra item that you have to specifically order if you want it. If you look on the Amazon page, they sell it device alone or device with metal bracket. As you stated, the device works very well without the bracket. So I wouldn’t worry too much about purchasing the bracket.

    hey Bud.. are you having trouble with the thirdreality door seson not working properly?

      Hi Jai,
      No I am not having issues with my door sensors. Get ready to pair the sensor within the ST app, but before tapping "Scan for nearby devices", open the cover containing the batteries and press and hold the reset button on the green circuit board until the light on the opposite side turns a steady red. When you release, the led light should be flashing blue rapidly. Now tap "Scan for nearby devices" and be patient. It may take a minute and 30 seconds for your hub to discover the sensor.
      Once discovered, go into the device screen and tap on the three dots in the upper right corner of the screen and see if the word "driver" is in the dropdown menu. Click on the word "Driver". The 'Zigbee Contact' driver should be assigned. This is from the SmartThings Drivers (Beta) channel. If the driver is not installed then:
      - Go here: tinyurl.com/34x56837
      - Login to your ST account and accept the channel invitation.
      - Click on available drivers and find and install the 'Zigbee Contact' driver to your hub.
      You will then need to delete and reinstall your door sensor following the instructions above to discover the driver. Hope this helps

    Hi Bud, pickup 2 of these ThirdRealty water sensors and, as you indicated, paired perfectly with SmartThings. I could not get Alexa to discover either device?, it shows other ThirdRealty sensors but not the water leak sensors. Do you think it is no longer supported by Alexa? Thanks.

    • @BudsSmartHome
      @BudsSmartHome  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Interesting. I just checked and my WL sensors are absent from Alexa as well. I guess I was never concerned because I see no reason to use them in Alexa. I have a WL virtual switch turn on in ST if a sensor is wet and I use the status of that virtual switch within Alexa to announce the water leak. I have the virtual switch turn off after a short delay and if the WL sensor still detects water the echo announcement will repeat.

    I've had the leak sensor for some time and have it connected to SmartThings. When I initially set it up, I was able to turn the built-in siren on via a SmartThings automation, separate from a leak being detected. But, at some point, that ability disappeared (even before I was switched to the edge driver). Are you aware of an Edge driver that would add that feature back?

    • @BudsSmartHome
      @BudsSmartHome  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you probably getting that feature in the SmartThings Home Monitor. If you go into the security settings, you should be able to trigger a siren, assuming you have a capable device, whenever a leak is detected.

    • @sheilamurphy3379
      @sheilamurphy3379 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BudsSmartHome I guess I didn't explain very well. When I first got the 3rd reality leak sensor, in smart things I could choose that device in an action in an automation and specify to turn on the siren that is built into the leak sensor. Or if I went to the device, there was a control on the page for turning the siren on and off. That is gone now. And then one day I noticed it was gone, even before the switch to Edge.

    • @BudsSmartHome
      @BudsSmartHome  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh I see. Thanks for explaining. I haven’t checked mine since it’s been converted to the edge Driver. I am out of town for a few days so I won’t be able to test it until next week. I would imagine that this is a feature that’s going to have to be added to the new edge Driver.
