Congrats on finally getting this set! I got mine when it first came out and my light up piece has since stopped working, along with some clip pieces spontaneously snapping.
Just over this past Christmas, I got to build the "Final Flight of the Desntiny's Bounty" set, and I didn't have any problems, it was even unopened, that stinks that you had some bad luck with this set though. I try to be extra, extra, EXTRA careful when handling my brown and dark red pieces. XD
I wouldn’t say you wasted your money… I mean $690 is a lot, but i hope it was worth it! (I changed my pfp background from orange to blue if you didn’t recognise me) Edit as I’m watching it: 5:15 Ohh I thought that was because the pieces got mixed up from older sets 😅 Edit 2: I just saw that you said it was not worth it lol 😅
I like the experience of opening a fresh set and building and applying stickers myself. As opposed to getting a used one with bags opened, stickers applied, pueces scratched etc. Plus I keep all my boxes because I think they look cool. but If the only way to get a rare set was used (NRG Jay for example) I wouldn't really mind too much, I just prefer brand new.
