Maitland is not unsafe. Like everywhere else you have good and bad. Depends on where in Maitland you go. I live in Altamonte Springs just the next town over. By Crane's Roost. Lake Eola is really nice. I remember when they first started building in the area. One plus from the view you had there would be the 4th of July fireworks. Please stay away from Pine Hills.
