This short group of films from the U.S. Office of Emergency Management presents patriotic military songs from WWII. It begins with THE CAISSONS GO ROLLING ALONG sung by Robert Weede...over hill...over dale... At 3:18 is the anthem of the U.S. Navy, ANCHORS AWEIGH sung by Conrad Thibault...anchors aweigh my boy, anchors aweigh...Finally, the MARINES' HYMN (6:30) ...from the halls of Montezuma ....to the shores of Tripoli..we are proud to claim the title of United States Marines. At 9:45, "Keep 'Em Rolling", a WWII work productivity song by Richard Rogers and Lorenz Hart, and sung by Jan Peerce. The song combines an appeal to buy bonds and put up with rationing and sacrifice, with a call to produce material for the war effort.

Yeah, when American imperialism was really getting good. Committing war crimes by splitting atoms over civilian Japanese populations. Not to mention the horrible way non whites were treated during that time in America. Yeah, those were the days 🤡

Yeah dodging bullets and watching good men die so you have to send the mother her soldier sons dog tags and tell the Father his only son, and the only help her had on the farm is gone forever

@@illmerica322 I always keep that in mind when listening to such songs. I think we owe that to them.

Back when people sacrificed for their freedoms instead of knuckling under when a government looks at you crooked. Those were the days. Yes, it took sacrifice because of other evil people in the world.

Is the audio for Anchors Aweigh! captured properly? It doesn't sound like a flaw in an analog source

The audio is captured digitally from an analog print. Of course, the audio quality can vary wildly depending on how that analog print was created.

Sounds just like North Korean military songs. Similar melody.
