Found this channel when I started dreaming of buying a sky myself. But watching this video I really didn’t expect to see you park in the same spot I go fishing at in Hendersonville 😂😂😂
Hi Mike, I just purchased some red piping for my Sky and it is to thin, just asking if you can send me the product info you used for your car. Thanks much!
Awesome....and congrats. If it's the dark blue, I know that color and it does look really good. If you haven't done so yet, be sure to join the Sky/Solstice Facebook group. There's a lot of great people there. facebook.com/groups/107999612683303/
Just checking to see if you ever found a better option for your speakers to get a better bass sound? Looking to do a mod on mine with a head unit and new speakers but trying to find an option to get more bass.
bass is directly related to the surface area of the speaker. So you would need a larger speaker. Also, you would have to add sound isolation and dampening to prevent soundwaves from cancelling out the bass. As well as a proper sized enclosure for the speakers. Head to diyma. They do a better job explaining everything. They also use home audio speakers, cheaper and better, than car speakers. A good 1 inch silk dome tweeter, with the dayton audio rs180 will get you very clean and deep sound. You would also need a dsp (kinda pricey, but can be had new for 3-400ish with a mini dsp). of course you will need a sub as well. A passenger footwell sub is possible, but at a sacrifice to the lowest frequencies for bass. The first thing i would do is sound deaden the car. It will add weight and kill performance, but makes the audio much more enjoyable, and makes the car easier to live with, with less road and wind noise.
I do autocross and I needed a non-turbo Sky to be in a particular class. Plus, I've done some engine tuning and suspension work so it's not slow and will out handle a Redline everyday in the turns. Lastly, I got it at a great price so I'm able to spend money to modify it the way I want.
@@MikesHouseOfMods I have the same bundle on a GXP. No sway bar changes. Its a pretty stiff setup now as it is. I also added the famous "Budget Tune" for 23~24 psi boost by pressing the master cruise button. I drove it up on the Dragon and I was waiting for cars and motorcycles to get out of my way.
Hey Mike, I really like your videos, very informative. I did have one question - did you put in the wind deflector yourself? If you did in a different video let me know, but I think I watched most of them at this point. If you did put it in can you let me know how it was before and after, if it made much a difference? I just got my Sky last week and was doing about 70 on the freeway tonight and I think a wind deflector would be a great investment based off that experience. Thanks!
Hi Rod. Yes, I did put the deflector in myself. I bought it on eBay but I can't remember the price. I think it was something like $60 or so. It's held on by 4 existing screws. As for whether it makes a difference or not, I believe it does. You get a lot more wind turbulence without it....but the wind deflector doesn't get rid of all of it. Also, it works best with the side windows up. I'll try to make a video showing the difference with and without it this weekend if the weather is nice.
Again thanks for the response - I've tried to find info on these and there are a bunch of answers that all conflict with each other so hearing from someone that has one and uses it helps finally clear that up. I'd love to see a video on it if you get a chance to do one!
I have the GM deflector. It's bad in the sense that when you take the top up or down you have more work to do. But - ah I'm glad I had it installed. It's effective at keeping light out of the car if a truck pulls behind you at night . In the day you get a reflection of the emblem which is nice too. When it's cold you can still enjoy driving with the top down by putting on the header. A I like the way it looks on the car.
Great job Mike! I currently have HID on mine, what's your perspective on the LED - is it bright enough at night? Also, what's the link on those lights. Thanks!
Thanks man. If you're part of the Sky/Solstice facebook group, you'll see the black and red center racing stripe as well as the LED Switchback turn signals I added :)
Bro stop driving the standard and go get you a real redline. This should have been the first mod by getting the turbo redline package. I have the redline and sir you are really missing out it's like night and day my redline does 0-60 in 4 seconds so yea too bad you are upgrading the standard sky. The standard sky is really slow compared to the turbo so yes go drive my redline and tell me what you think.
Miles Agha. Oh don't worry. I'm planning on getting a lot more power out of her next year with either a turbo, supercharger, or LS swap. But I'm having lots of fun with her now even with the base engine.

Great video. Have you seen Norman’s side skirts? Can’t believe what a difference they make and not very expensive.
where did you get your seat covers
Ebay. www.ebay.com/itm/SATURN-SKY-2007-2010-BLACK-RED-S-LEATHER-CUSTOM-MADE-FIT-FRONT-SEAT-COVER/142435362443?fits=Make%3ASaturn%7CModel%3ASky&hash=item2129cf268b:g:s5EAAOSwvzRX0fjs&vxp=mtr
They can just go over your seats. You do not have to glue them down.
What seat covers are those. They look pretty nice.
Thanks. I got them on eBay. Just search Saturn sky seat covers. I think the company is igoo or something like that.
Why would you 'black out' the nice wheels? I think certain mods detract from resale. But if that doesn't matter to you then go for it.
I don't care about resale. I'll be keeping her for quite a while. Plus, I used Plastidip so I can easily remove the black :)
I really enjoy your saturn sky videos! i'm going to check one out today that I might buy!
Cool. Is it the base model or the Redline? The Redline has the 2.0l Turbo and the base has the 2.4L NA.
Mike Martin I just got it and I love it! It's the baseline. It is a 2008 and is a really awesome blue color!

Mike Martin alright I will do that thank you!!
Hey Mike! How's that wind deflector working out? Does it significantly cut down turbulence in the cockpit?

Why didn’t you get the redline turbo model?? U keep throwing money into a slow car lol

@@MikesHouseOfMods What have you done suspension wise?
@@2wrdr I have the DDM Works Brace bundle...backbone, pro beam and venom brace. I also have the pewrks adjustable rear sway bar.

Mike Martin thanks for the reply! Do you have to take it when you put the top up and down or does it stay in all the time?
No. It stays in all the time. The window on the roof sits outside of it when the top is up.

I love the LEDs. I also added LED Switchback turn signals so the white lights from them add even more light to the rod.
Luv you wheels
Notten not Thanks :)

Black wheels on a Kappa are so unattractive. They look good on a truck.
