Also, being denser doesn't necessarily mean being heavier, density is the amount of mass within a cubic centimeter of a volume, in other words it's the mass distribution. Cherno was more heavily built than both jaegers I previously mentioned. Tacit Ronin was built for lightweight combat and if it's that much heavier than the other jaegers and even the kaijus then it wouldn't be able to fight the way it was meant to.
The jaegers would accurately weigh upwards from 40K to 60K tons with slatterns big ass being 121K tons and considering he’s 596 feet tall and 900 ft long yeah Slatterns Just GINORMOUS
If only they let the original director do Uprising and handle the new jaegers then the movie would not have become another by the numbers Hollywood movie, I don’t care if Del Toro released the movie by 2025 or 2027 at least he got the time, the people, the vfx and the competent writers to massively improve the story and quality. One of the key issues of Uprising is the way the jaegers move, they don’t have the weight, the build up, the camera angles to give us that sense of scale and they didn’t utilize their weapons properly. Take these two scenes from Uprising for example, when Valor Omega was met with the drone hybrids, instead of firing both arm cannons to keep them distracted until reinforcements arrived to finish them off instead they do shoot once and make themselves an open target. Second scene is with Saber Athena, instead of finishing the kaiju off with their swords they instead spend the next few minutes kicking and kicking and no slashing out. Another key factor as to why Uprising was bad, is the way they handled Mako. Instead of her having brother and sister moments with jake, they instead wrote her off. As for Jake, they could have handled him better written him better but no. Lastly, I didn’t feel any apocalyptic vibes from Uprising. At least in the original, the older jaegers despite looking outlandish looked worn down and to the point where if you lose another jaeger, you start acting too drastically. My only hopes is that with Pacific Rim the Black they at least take the time and massively improve upon everything
I can't tell you how much I like this movie, This is the most epic movie I've ever watched and This movie is a masterpiece. The movie's special effects are cool, The movie's monsters are amazing and The movie's robots are awesome. 0:01 Slatter is the strongest of the kaiju and Gipsy danger is the strongest of the jaeger. Its a mark-8, i read somewhere, and the way it man handled Gipsy Avenger, do you think saber athena could do that? Athena might win at the end by doing hit and run but not in a full hand to hand engagement, that feels like it should be a mark 8

ever realize how unrealistically light the Jaegers are? Like they stand as tall or taller than most modern warships are long (besides carriers) and have greater shoulder spans than their beams (widest part of a ship) yet have a fraction of the weight despite warships generally being hollow so the crew can operate and live inside it while the Jaegers are almost all solid metal with only one compartment for the two-man crew. To put it into perspective, it'd be more realistic if their weights as listed were multiplied by 5-10x depending on the Jaeger. The only one that's really believable is Scrapper being in the 200-300 range due to it's size.

First of all, Jaegers in general are going to exceed 40,000 tons, some of the heavier ones (like Cherno Alpha) are over 50,000.
And based off of the model created the Kaiju would have masses as follows:
Trespasser: 34,600 tons
Onibaba: 22,350 tons
Knifehead: 33,200 tons
Mutavore: 32,000 tons
Otachi: 33,000 tons
Leatherback: 36,700 tons
Scunner: 42,700 tons
Raiju: 47,400 tons
Slattern: 121,000 tons
Uprising masses:
Hakuja: 19,700 tons
Strikethorn: 31,300 tons

Mega-Kaiju: 150,000 tons*
I included the asterisk next to Mega-Kaiju because this one specifically I found a little on the low end (I figured his mass would approach 200,000 tons).
