Point no. 4 is the deal-breaker. The rest are kind of 50/50. The women I've met all seem to be craving an emotional adventure that most contemporary guys either don't know how to or aren't willing to provide. Out of sheer curiosity I decided to do away with the other traditional stuff we hear: chivalry, kindness and empathy, emotional security, physical gifts... and decided to focus entirely on entertainment and providing a roller-coaster unpredictable experience. A good number didn't leave: regardless of how seriously I took the relationship.
This is of course assuming that you're already settled and stable in your life (not struggling with emotional, financial, psychological or physical insecurities). The other factor that people usually avoid talking about is the bedroom experience. You screw up on this, she leaves.

Jessica, I agree with you on most of the point, however, starting a relationship depends on the intent. Guys who want a short-term relationship normally do just anything to get the woman. With a long-term relationship in mind, I believe it's better to let the woman know who you are and be open for changes. In this case, the lady gets to decide whether to embark on that long-lasting relationship. It's not a great idea to forcibly subdue your true colors. It may work, but they will come out later. Also, suggestions that borders on safety shouldn't wait, especially if the guys truly care about the lady.

I disagree with the part of showing up for a date even when I'm sick. If I'm feeling sick or tired I'm going to cancel the date with a 3-4 hour advance notice. I cancel hang outs with friends when I'm sick. That's normal for me.
Besides it may be for her benefit that I cancel as I might be contagious.
A phone call telling her you're sick and rescheduling can work too.

A lot of women don't care about these things. Sure, most of them want the attention that these gestures imply, BUT when it is time to choose between the man doing these things and the guy they find attractive, whether he is actually abusive or not, they could very well end up with the latter. All those things you have done and all the emotional investments and even financial sometimes, won't matter! They care mostly about how they feel! And what they want! So, please, while these points are good, they definitely don't get or keep women. They like and want the attention, but you could be deemed a whimp by those same women enjoying those gestures. Women should actually figure out what they want, while men should not tolerate all kinds of trash in hopes of trying to get a woman!

If the woman's father treated his daughter well, that is what she'll expect from her partner, and on the other hand, if she weren't lucky and her father treated her poorly, well, she would attract men who aren't nice. This is a phycological fact, parents groom their children without even being aware of it.

Everyone has different experiences when it comes down to relationships but the most important thing in a relationship is communication. If a woman wants to communicate with you she will. No one wants to be told what to do. They want to understand what to do. No relationship is perfect and everyone can get better. You always should love yourself first but loving yourself too much can lead to a downfall of how you treat your lady. I was told when something feels off then it might be you can't think like that because that's a negative way of looking at it. If a woman does you the same way you treat her, then it's telling in ways especially if you forget what she says and try to change up what she says.

This is my take: make yourself a priority, advance yourself in your career or business, be healthy, stay in shape, have hobbies & friends, love, provide & protect your family. A relationship is mutual Jessica! It’s a two way effort and not one way. Treating your other half; either a man or a woman is equally important and deserved. This is a very subjective feminist outlook and bias perspective coming into a relationship. What you are saying MUST be applied by both men and women in a relationship. For instance; "listening" both parties in any type of a relationship should know how to listen! Your argument should not start from ‘how a man should listen’ it should start from ‘how men and women should listen to each other!’ Please; strive to have objective content!
