- There is currently a sale on the Gem Store featuring Infinite Gathering Tools and Black Lion Glyph Selection Containers. I'm going to talk about how good these upgrades can be for your account, and what are the best glyphs for your gathering tools.

Some things that I think should be noted as well is that some of the other glyphs go up depending on things you are farming in the game.
For instance, if you have a home instance and have even just one crop plot, the glyph of bounty value really goes up if you are harvesting the ascended cultivated herbs. Having a chance at harvesting extra herbs that have a value of (Currently as of 9/3/2023) around 20+ silver for some of the cheaper ones really adds up.
Another one would be Guild Halls. If you are a part of a guild that has a lot of synthesizers then sure you could use reaping to insta harvest all the "harvest" nodes (berry, veggie, cloth, leather, etc.) at once and that would up the value of reaper but all those nodes together might have a nice impact on Volatile as well.
So it really just depends on what you the player is doing with their gathering. If you know you are only going to gather when you happen by something in the open world, then volatile glyphs are really really nice. Maybe you have a dedicated character to harvest your full home instance, then maybe watchknight on a pick for the candy corn and bounty on a harvesting tool for cultivated herbs might be better. If you have alts parked at high gathering spots like flax spots or the tree farm in Malchor's Leap then you might use even different glyphs.
Whatever you do though, volatile is currently a nice and safe bet for gathering glyphs though.

yeah I always assumed we had to wait for unbound or volatile gathering tools (which I have seen in the past) to roll into the gem shop. Finally gonna get me some unbreakable tools.

I had no idea that Mesmer Scpter Trait would give you 20% off the cast time of your Glyphs, that's pretty handy!
And thanks for the math on Volatile magic vs the rest. I like the Glyph of the Watch Knight but the price of those fluctuates a lot and doesn't tend to get as high as your Volatile magic value.

/AGREED. Although they ARE the CLASSIC "Create a Problem - Sell the Solution" Cash Shop con and even though they aren't soulbound, I went ahead and bought a set for every one of my characters. The single best QOL purchase you can buy.
Such a great point about being able to gather unlimited Volatile Magic without worrying about the normal cap on materials. Probably the most important point to make.
This video would be really helpful for new players who have a bunch of gems to spend but don't know what items to buy.

Thank you!! I got the Eldirch tools because of pre-order and now I wanted to know which glyphs are the best. I chose exactly these three glyphs and it's great, everything is much faster and better.
I would add Glyph of Bounty to your list of valuable glyphs, specifically on Harvesting Sickles. Think Flax farms and other, higher value plants, like Varietal Seed sources.
People was telling me to wait for the volatile magic tools but they didn't know you can buy any bundle and just choose the volatil glyph, so no need to wait for the volatile tools any more, thanks a lot!
I agree other 2 not worth it, its why the only set i have is full Voletile set, another tip to farm faster, when you use normal tools and u mine, the second and third hit are slowed down by a lot for the next strike to start number 2 and 3, these Gem store ones do that a bit faster.
You can make both of them continue without delay simply by doing a weapon swap and spam the use key.

omg I was waiting for the violation magic tools n was disappointed its not part of the sale right now, I had no idea the sets include 3 glyphs so I can just pick the volatile magic glyph! cthis is even better cuz I love my r trons n was sad that once I get the volatile magic I'll have to switch my r trons out. now with glyphs I don't have to! yay!
Some things that the game doesn't make evident is that that all tools can be skinned like almost anything else in the game. So say you had the volatile tools and but really liked the Job-o-trons you could skin the volatile tools to look like the Job-o-trons and they would work the same. Another thing is that all glyphs are removable for free. So again using the previous example, you could take the volatile glyphs out of the volatile tool and put them into the Job-o-tron tools. Just for future reference. The game doesn't make these super clear for folks.

I think it mughtve been more clear when glyphs first became a thing, I played like 7 years ago when there were no glyphs and bought the job-o-trons, so after restarted playing again a few months ago I totally didn't think to even look at it lol XD I don't think game could've done anything if I wasn't even looking at the gathering tools or reading any tool tips related to it XD thx for the heads up tho! just bought one of the packs for the glyphs, happy~~

Glyph of the watchknight seems to yield a higher copper per strike yield for Axe and Pick.

If the T6 mats for legendary crafting change then those trophy shipments' value would go down. But that's not gonna happen!

What about Glyph of the Unbound if you already have a set with Volatile? I'm just thinking that collecting Unbound Magic every now and then would not be a bad idea if you want to buy ascended jewelry for your alts or for other builds.
Reaping is good for the toxic spores and flax. However you hardly ever get bonus strikes. Like with bonus gathering with a normal sickle I would get 9-21 flax, with reaping almost always 9-12. For wood I like to use the 50% faster one. For Pick either volatile or watch knight.
I wish the tools could be used by every character at the same time like the legendary weapons. I do dailys and log on different chars which are at the end of jp´s or in gathering zones. Other than that I play alot of wvw and switching chars based on what is needed atm. I would have to put the tools everytime I switch a char back to the bank... Would be a huge quality of life If they would be account wide usable. And I still think that they are quite expensive. I think like round about 25 EUR.
For that reason i have 3 empty shared inventory slots. Just put them there when you lock out the character and any other char can get it at log in anywhere on the map 🙂

Did buy them myself, for the first time since 2012. But I'm going to keep it on my main I think. Not going to juggle gathering tools back and forth.
Might get a perma vendor for gathering tools to my other characters.
@@JD-ls6exthats true, but so far it works for me. i have like 8 alts that i logged at a flax farm. i log them all in at the beginning of my daily play session and make like 5 gold a day for like 5 min of play that way with my bounty sickle.....
btw. a good spot for that is daconis mons.

Did debate having one set on my main but at the same time buying the limited volatile tools is one of my main karma sinks.

the 6969, 69, 69 is the best thing I've seen this year.
The big issue I have with unlimited tools and glyphs is that it kinda only works if you really main a certain character. If you're switching around a lot and play multiple characters/day, you're simply not going to keep moving your tools around all the time and the whole investment becomes useless. For me with like 50'ish chars and playing like 10-20 actively, it simply doesn't work. For me to be useful, they'd have to work from the shared inventory slots or become account wide unlocks but as they are now, it's just easier for me to have a spare ori tools set in my inventory for when I run out and just buy new ones when passing a merchant after I've used my spare ones, than moving around my unlimited set from char to char all the time.
If you're at that point, you have other things to worry about because you're representative of like 0.0001% of the playerbase.
Doesn't change anything cause I've always been playing all of my chars since the beginning. Getting one of every prof (8 instead of 9 at that time) was the first thing I did after only 3 months in and within the first year I already had two of each. As I said, it all comes down to one thing: is there one character that you really main for over 50% of the time or not.

@@nacaicon1593 Hey, thank you for your reply. I checked again and still can‘t find them. I only find them individually for 1000 gems each, but not in the bundle. I guess it‘s because i am on a f2p account and don‘t have any expansions yet and maybe they are only available for full accounts?

Been playing this game for 10 years.
Nothing in this game is Pay to Win. He's gotten all his resources by dumping an absolute massive amount of time to farming that.
It's Pay to Convenience and the convenience is mostly saving some time. You can Pay money to buy Gems Then buy Gold with those Gems, but none of that is going to get you "Better".
This game is a skill based game. End game stats are stupid easy to acquire. If you're bad you cannot play the hardest content in the game. If you're skilled you can do whatever you want.
@@senorduck384 Yeah, I got mine a couple months ago, definitely not p2w, as most of the things I have I bought with gold>gem conversion.
Sad however that you need multiple expansions (like 4-5 DLCs, that you buy with real money) to have access to all class builds, that part I didn't enjoy. Buying 2 or 3 and still not having access to everything you class can offer is dirty business imo, especially with the meta shifting towards new expansions rather than old ones.

Yea its gonna cost something. How can a company fund new content when they have no money to cover the employees? I'm ok paying 25$/year for a new expansions va WoW or FFIV on a monthly pay model

Unless you consider farming achievement points as content.
