    Thank you for sharing numbers (.700 bore, .697 barrel diameter). For a DIY it's super helpful to know what an experienced builder likes to see. Again, thank you.

    I have 7 Fusion barrels I hand fitted to my personal firearms. I have no self interest in promoting Fusion. They are solid, proper Rockwell hardness, and if properly fitted- accurate. The lands and grooves are nice, and will give you a very long service life, I would imagine at least 25,000 rounds if treated properly.

      Thank you for the super comments!! Yes, 25K is a good number for a quality barrel, Maybe more depending on the shooters requirements and treatment of the pistol.

      Fusion Firearms yes, it’s always subjective based on “nature/nurture” principles, didn’t mean to get all Freud on you but it’s actually true. My brother owns nice guns but neglects them for example. So when his begin to jam, he blames the manufacturer. He is not mechanically inclined. He should stick to stainless revolvers with Duracoat coated springs.

    Yet another Awesome video from the Fusion Team! Loving all this information. Look forward to more episodes on this subject. Some pictures up close of the different type plugs and barrels and guide rods would be a treat on the subject.

    Bob...Does a bull barrel have more longevity than a standard bushing barrel? In average terms for FMJ medium loads how many rounds can I expect before the firearm starts losing accuracy? How much more wear and tear do FMJ rounds create compared to Copper Plated or Lead bullets?

      @fusionfirearms  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Harry, No a bull barrel will not give you any more longevity. And as of the topic of barrel wear, there are so many variables depending on what the shooter is shooting and what type of accuracy is required. Such as accuracy requirements for a Bullseye shooter will be much different than a combat shooter. But I have seen over 20K rounds though our barrels and they were still good for the combat shooters we build for. Again, Accuracy will be a personal objective and each person will set the bar for where they need to be and when to change a barrel. Some cheap pistols, right out of the box, Accuracy sucks, other well built pistols 20K or more. Like a bad "Hang-nail" you will personally know when it is time to change the barrel out if you work with your pistols enough. ... Thank you.... Good Question..

    I have a quick question right now I'm converting a 45acp 1911 government model into a 6in variant with a bull barrel I have all the parts I require except for a proper 6-inch guide rod I've ordered two separate 6in guide rods and neither of them fit apparently after some research it says I need a guide rod fitted at .336 where can I find such a guide rod?

    • @fusionfirearms
      @fusionfirearms  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Email in to rserva@outlook.com and I will try to help you. You should be fine with any guide rod as long as you have the proper end cap/reverse plug. It you end up with binding you might have to open up the hole a bit in the rev plug.

    I want to do speed shooting (precision/fast double taps) at ranges from 5m-75m. It will have a 6in. compensated barrel on a government model. Should I go with a bushing barrel or will a bull barrel really help out and be better? I don't want it to be too much weight at the front but also concerned about the front looking awkward haha.

    • @fusionfirearms
      @fusionfirearms  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sir, I would go with a bushing barrel, A bit less weight and it is better for tuning the pistol if needed.

    What's the difference between para/clark and the para/clark/lissner?

    • @fusionfirearms
      @fusionfirearms  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Not much, you cut the frame the same way. The Lissner, has some additional relief angles on each side of the bottom radius. I see No advantage from the original para/clark cut. I think someone just wanted to pt their name on something.
