You can see the effort in every detail to make a really useful and practical tent, the only detail that I feel makes me doubt is the absence of solid material on the door. As one sleeps close to the door, that mesh will let in a lot of wind at night and will blow directly towards my body. I hope there is a new version with that solid part on the door.
@@durstongear Hi! Maybe I didn't explain myself well, I love this interior design with black mesh, I am the type of person who loves to see a starry night or a sunset from inside the tent. And the mesh also prevents condensation that would surely be greater with a full solid interior. I mean that the door does not have that solid lower part that the rest of the tent has, and through that small open part, a little more wind can enter. Personally, I love that black mesh design, perfect for camping on cold days and also on sunny days and clear nights. I hate the condensation of tents with solid interiors, the ones with mesh are more versatile to me, but if the door had that lower solid interior, it would be perfect. @@JavierMartinez-gu5pd I see. I did use full mesh on the door. Setting up the tent is very simple and logical. Thanks to the comments, I see that the shipping of the tents has started! So in two weeks my tent will arrive in Denmark!
I think that Mr Durston is on to a winner with the X Dome. Another well thought out and designed tent. I can see it being real popular here in the UK, as it's a true one man, ultralight freestanding tent. I'm personally waiting to see how this will compare to the two man version, before I make a decision
This guide is helpfull to learn how to pitch in the wind. I pitched it today and it was easy to do. Love it ! Good job Dan ! I'm impatient to see @WildBeare to do a video with an x-dome in the worst conditions.
I’m still upset you haven’t made me a hammock and matching tarp, but I’m pretty excited to be getting this in the mail tomorrow. I’ve been bike-touring/packing more often then backpacking and I often find spots a free standing tent won’t work (or hammock). So this will hold me over till you make my dang hammock lol
@ absolutely deserved! And thanks a lot for explaining how to use the guylines and so. I am always unsure about. No other manufacturer takes this care like you to show its users how to use their tent.
My X-Dome arrives on Tuesday here in the UK, so can’t wait. The (nice!) problem I have is that I have all four X-Mid models, so some rationalisation is in order!
Im looking forward to seeing the x dome series expand like the x mid series did. Ill definitely be getting a 1+ at some point....at last, a very lightweight 1 person tent that doesn't look like a coffin....a big plus point for backpackers/wildcampers my age 🤣
I'm very optimistic about this tent! It seems to improve on its closest competitor in weight, size, cost, and functionality (fly first and fly rollback).
Thanks for giving it a try. The tax to the UK is high but it is the same tax you'd pay on any tent (mostly VAT) so the difference is just that the tax is paid separately instead of being included in a higher list price.
Just ordered! I was eyeballing the Nemo Hornet Osmo 2P. This X-Dome 1+ looks promising and was about $45usd cheaper than the Nemo. This will be my Moto Camping tent for next season! Stoked!
Here in TN!!,, WAITING FOR MY DOME!!! I LIVE ON THE PLATOU CUMBERLAND CO. MY FIRST TRIP WITH MY DOME WILL BE TO VIRGIN FALLS.. ABOUT 20 MIN FROM,MY FARM.. 😅
Can't wait to get shipped this tent to Germany. It incorporates so much great features by still keeping it as flexible and adaptable as possible at the same time to personal needs. I am sure most times just using 4 stakes and I am done. If so and the durability and waterproofness is also that great, it will be a disruptive game changer especially at that price point. If there will be any Pro Version please keep your ingenuity and try to incorporate the most sturdy material out there, eg challenge sailcloth Ultra X. Even in case of a weight penalty compared to DCF, maximum abrasion resistance is the way to go for such a great sturdy tent construction, as a PRO Version.
Mine just came in today, something that is legitimately shocking is how small both the fly and the inner pack down. I also hadn't even considered leaving the inner connected to the fly when you pack it all up.
Cant wait for the solid inner now that will be a genuine game changer for ultralight 4 season tents, at 1kg i can see see it sticking it to the hillberg unna at half the weight and half the price for sure
The regular inner is mostly mesh with a bit of solid fabric about the bottom. It's a good balance, whereas the solid inner is all solid fabric which is more for cold areas and winter. The poles are identical except the short poles have more folds in them to pack shorter (but this makes them about 30g heavier).
If I order this tent right now with the solid inner that can be delivered in April. Will it have the extra guyout points lower on the legs? as talked about in Justin Outdoors wind testing video?
When motorcycle camping I would always bring my (now obsolete) free standing dome tent AND the rainfly from my hammock tent because it was so quick and easy to setup for a little shelter from the wet weather. I will be leaving it home on my next trip and plan to use the X-Dome fly for that purpose. Love the fly-first and fly solo option! Is there a secret handshake someone is going to teach me at some point?
The Copper Spur is a nice tent, but is an inner first pitch. The poles clip to the interior so the normal method is to set up the interior and then you toss the fly over. There are ways to pitch it fly first but they require extra parts (e.g .groundsheet) and a harder to remember method, so it's not a natural fly first pitch like the X-Dome.
Just ordered the X-Dome 1, can't wait for the summer to use the heck out of this tent! Curious if the X-Dome 2 will be able to fit two wide sleeping mats, then that one is going to get ordered instantly:D
Hey, I didn't go for the tent on the first round because I'd need a solid inner. In this case would it make sense to preorder for April and then change the order to a solid inner? Also can you tell which strength is used for the arch poles, 3,9 or 6,3? Anyway cant wait for April now that I'm decided on the tent ;)
We expect to have a solid option for the April batch. You could order now and then ask us to edit it later but you can also just wait about a month and we should be able to add them to the website then. We just need to figure out our product photos and pricing before we release it. The poles are 3.9 on the legs and 6.3 on the spine part. Basically, it goes up to the larger size with the two arcs join together so that there is not a weak spot when it drops from two arcs to one
My tent is getting delivered tomorrow! I can’t wait! I didn’t order it with stakes, to save a bit of money. Instead I put some in my wishlist for Christmas. Would 6.5” titanium Shepards hook stakes work fine for this tent?
Thanks Dan! Looks rock solid. Curious if the 4 corners of the inner and fly can be linked (by Velcro or other means)? I’d imagine I will be pitching together most days, and that would hasten the pitching process if you aren’t fishing around for the inner corners
Connecting them would be cool, but I don't currently have a way to do that, so you do still need to connect both parts to the poles (like most tents). Would be nice to figure out something even better.
@@durstongearI’m envisioning adding a tiny bit of Velcro tape to each of the metal corners when I receive the tent, which I’d connect before packing up if the tent is dry. I didn’t know if any sort of other option existed. Thanks!
@@josh8058 It's similar to the vast majority of tents, where you do have to connect the inner and the fly to the poles, but yes it is more hassle than if they did connect as one. I'm open to ideas to make that work, but I haven't seen a elegant and light way to do it. I had a look just now at the Macpac. It looks like the inner has a grommet for the pole and then the fly buckles to that. That works for a combined pitch, but it doesn't look like the fly can be pitched without the inner. I'd like to be able to pitch either piece separately.
I recently got the tent and had it out one night over the weekened and am liking it. I also got the ground sheet to possibly use with the fly only but am confused how to properly attach the groundsheet.
Looks amazing. What is the required length of trekking poles needed to install as supports? Apologies if this is answered elsewhere. I looked around for a while without finding an answer.
For normal supports you need a length of about 115-120cm. Adjustable length poles are best so you can snug it up. If you are also angling it over to secure the door, then you need about 130 cm.
Hi. Are you planning on making this with a solid inner tent? With maybe double door (mesh+solid)? The tent looks amazing and I really want one but I’m not a huge fan of the full mesh inner tent.
I'm very excited for the upcoming release of the solid-inner version of this tent. I've greatly enjoyed using my X-mid 2 solid as a solo tent, but often have the challenges of camping on slickrock or frozen ground, where I miss having a freestanding tent. I would envision using the X-dome for winter/alpine use including some mountaineering, to replace my much heavier Sierra Designs Convert 2. I have a couple of questions for Dan. Could you specify the exact length of the trekking poles needed to (optionally) reinforce the X-Dome? I have gotten custom-cut ultralight CF poles for my X-Mid at 120cm, and wonder if that length would be able to be used for the X-dome as well. I don't always bring my adjustable trekking poles with me, and when I do, I sometimes wish to use them for day-hikes and scrambles from a hike-in basecamp, so wouldn't want them committed to supporting the tent. As the X-Dome will likely see more winter and mountaineering users than the X-Mid, it would also give a rationale for offering a different, more highly-visible color, as needed for safety. Visually spotting an X-Mid or X-Dome from a distance while on a glacier or in a snowy forest in a snowstorm would be very difficult, and potentially dangerous.
Thanks. I added the solid inner as an option to the website now, but we won't have photos up for a few more weeks. For the trekking poles, if they are positioned vertically then it is about 44". If they are angled outwards then it is about 48". If they are angled outwards and over towards the door stake then it is about 50-52". Adjustibility is nice to have since on uneven ground it can vary.
Dan, is saying you can attach guylines to the pole set hubs which sounds like a good idea. I’ve seen people adding them to the tab on the vents - is this ok?
The vents are sorta okay. It should work pretty well, but they're not as reinforced as some other spots. The hubs are stronger, so it's ideal to connect right to the hub, but the vent should work fine too.
It is several inches longer than the typical 1P tent, since the length when laying straight is about the same but here you can lay diagonal for about 4 more inches. So on average we find people are happy to about 6'4". So hard to say but it could work well for you. It depends on your preferences and how bulky your sleep setup is.
You can pitch the fly and guy it out as you are connecting it to the frame, so before the inner is added. We show a good sequence in our storm pitch section.
The tabs for a storm pitch are good, but seems really fiddly. Pulling a 2-3mm guyline tight around the tab will be impossible to open/un-tie in the cold, no? And even if it's not cold you need to un-tie it before you can take your tent down. Maybe there is another easier solution? I'll still get the tent though, it just seems great. Good work!
Are you referring to the guyouts? Where you mean it would be fiddly to tie the cord around the guyout after it's wrapped around the pole? There are quite a few ways to do it. One nice way is to use a "line lock hook" that simply hooks on without tying a knot. But also a girth hitch with a bit larger loop should be reasonable to do, and you could always have them pre-tied and/or leave them attached.
There are pros and cons. Our X-Mid 1 has dual doors but with the freestanding tent we had the opportunity to expand the floor to fill the back vestibule (since there is no trekking pole in the way). This creates more floor space while hardly adding weight (since it avoids more zippers) but does mean there isn't a second door and vestibule. So more floor area but only one door is the trade off.
I can't wait for this tent to be released in the Pro version. Please Dan, could you offer it in different Dyneema colors when you do so? That would be amazing! :) It will be the ultimate shelter, so exciting!
Dan is it possible to use Tenacious tape on this Xdome material to use for repairs because i have somehow managed to put a 10mm hole in the fly sheet on mine on its 1st outing 😩 What method would you recommend ????. I cannot figure out how i have done this but i was pitching it in the dark and i did find a tent peg stuck in the ground where i was pitching so maybe it got caught on that 🤔.
It clips to the webbing at the 4 corners of the floor. It is quite easy. If it is not windy, you can tip the tent on it's side and clip it on. If it is windy, then slide it under.
My FOMO is getting bigger with all those small attentions to detail being revealed. I want one badly now despite being content and happy with my X-mid. A question to @Durstongear If a pole section should break or fail, how do you fix that on the go? Will there be a replacement pole/repair kit included or something more clever?
Durston, can we get a video of this tent in some wind or on a trailer towed to simulate wind. I’m 10,000% confident in this tent but keep hearing people with little or some worrying about the vertical walls in the wind. I think this would really shut those comments down.
Without the trekking poles the X-Dome and X-Mid are pretty similar (assuming they are pitched well). If you add the optional trekking poles to the X-Dome then it is strongest of all. It can do major snow loads like that. We have tested it to 40 lbs on the roof, which is about 180L or 50 gallons of snow.
If we're being honest, I wouldn't say you can set up the inner first and then the outer. If you have to unclip all the clips but the floor, and then put on the outer and then reattach all the inner clips... Your basically setting up the outer and then setting up the inner. I only say this because I had heard you could, and then did it myself and thought, "No, no you can't." and was kind of annoyed. (If I had looked at it, and thought about it, and realized the outer fabric is under the poles I would have realized it was impossible to do the inner first. But I'm so used to single walled tents it didn't cross my mind.) Anyhow, I wouldn't advertise that it can be set up inner first. It's a well built tent, and I am sure once I set it up 5 or 6 times it will be much quicker and feel like less of an issue. But like you said, because you have to re do the whole inner to the outer, I'm likely to just keep it all attached. Btw, Not sure if you are considering making a dcf version, but if you did I would suggest looking at the Hilleberg tents, especially their vestibule design. The X-dome has almost the same vestibule, but the Hilleberg basically keeps the bathtub rectangle shape so you have more foot room, but has a slider on the vestibule floor attachment that you can move to have additional room inside the tent, or pull back and have more vestibule space. So you can cook in the vestibule, and then when you're done, pull the floor out into the vestibule area and gain room inside the tent. Pretty ingenious design, and it could definitely work for the X-dome.
Thanks for the feedback. Yeah that slider vestibule idea on the Hilleberg is need. I'm hesitant about having the loose fabric it creates when the floor is adjusted smaller, but I do agree that being able to adjust the mix between the floor width and vestibule width is a nice feature. For the pitch, this gets quite complicated to explain in a simple way that a general audience can understand. Usually you would pitch the tent fly first and then the inner is either pre-attached or added later. If the tent is being pitched inner first, that is usually because someone wants to pitch it inner only. So it is rare to do inner first and then add the fly. Since it can do the main reason why people pitch inner first (to pitch inner only) I say it can pitch inner first. If I said it can't pitch inner first, then people would think they can't pitch just the inner. So I say it can pitch inner first, but I agree with you that then trying to add the fly later is re-doing a substantial part of the pitch. I think it's not too bad because you can leave it connected at the corners (so you're not fully disconnecting the pole set) but it is more hassle than the others ways of pitching and I wouldn't recommend someone starts inner first if they are going to use the fly.
@durstongear yeah I haven't seen the Hilleberg in person, but plan to when I head over to Ireland and Wales to hike in spring. From what I saw online it didn't look bad when it was pulled back. But just looking at the X-dome it looked like it would work well. I thought if you did the tent in Dyneema, the added weight of the extra fabric would be less noticeable. Anyhow, thought it was worth mentioning. As far as explaining the setup. Perhaps something like, " It can be set up outer by itself, or outer first to keep you out of the rain while you set up the inner. The inner can be set up alone for star gazing on clear nights. " there wouldn't actually be a need to mention setting up inner first.
I'm going against the grain here and I completely understand that... BUT... why would you want this if you have the X mid solid already? X mid much easier and quicker to pitch plus with the solid inner better all year round? I'm confused by this tent. It's looking like a great tent and I'm seeing videos calling it a "Hilleberg Killer" absolutely not in my opinion. It's not even a proper 4 season tent by uk standards without the solid inner? Where does this tent fit into your itinerary if you own an X mid solid already? Somebody help me out PLEASE!!
This is the 'regular' version so it compares most closely to the regular X-Mid in our lineup. Then we'll add a solid interior version in spring 2025 that compares more closely to the X-Mid Solid. The X-Mid is a trekking pole tent, so it'll be the lightest and it is a great choice for people saving weight. But for people who don't use trekking poles or want a freestanding tent, the X-Dome is ideal. Both tents are very fast to put up. The X-Dome is very capable but not intended for severe conditions like a much heavy Hilleberg. For many people the X-Mid Solid is an ideal tent for the UK, but if you don't use trekking pole or value freestanding then the X-Dome makes sense - especially once we add the solid interior option.
I woke up this morning, found out my X-Dome is “out for delivery”, and the pitching guide is up! A great start to the day! I’ll bookend the day in my X-Dome 😊

Setting up the tent is very simple and logical. Thanks to the comments, I see that the shipping of the tents has started! So in two weeks my tent will arrive in Denmark!
Delivery took 7 days and the tent is already set up for the first night. This is not just a tent, it is a dream tent!
Yes dan it looks amazing and you always put a good video together to go with the products can't wait for mine to get here next week😁
There was a nice video today in tough conditions by Andrew Beavers.
Mine is in-transit to New Zealand now! I can't wait to make use of it this summer!
Great demo Dan and good tips and tricks for storm mode.
Thanks
Nate
Thanks Nate!
I'm looking forward to some testing Dan, mine arrived today. Good first impressions. Will be out in it as soon as I can ⛺🎄
Glad it made it. Hope it works well.

I’m still upset you haven’t made me a hammock and matching tarp, but I’m pretty excited to be getting this in the mail tomorrow.
I’ve been bike-touring/packing more often then backpacking and I often find spots a free standing tent won’t work (or hammock). So this will hold me over till you make my dang hammock lol
how is it possible to integrate soo sooo many important features in only ONE tent?? Incredible 🎉
Thanks for the kind words.
- Dan
@ absolutely deserved! And thanks a lot for explaining how to use the guylines and so. I am always unsure about. No other manufacturer takes this care like you to show its users how to use their tent.
Looks even better with the detail. I haven’t received shipping notification to the UK as yet. Looking forward to it.👍
Thanks, Dan! I can’t wait until I get mine 😊
Looking forward to getting this tent!
Dan, this is a beautiful design. Can't wait for the Dyneema version.
I'm very optimistic about this tent! It seems to improve on its closest competitor in weight, size, cost, and functionality (fly first and fly rollback).
Thanks! It's pretty neat!
wow its looks so easy dan love this can't wait till it comes so can test it soon 🤞👍
Notified mine is on its way from beautiful Canada. Stung (of course) from the taxman into the UK, I still think it will be worth every penny.
Stoked!
Thanks for giving it a try. I think you'll appreciate things like the fly first pitch and fully freestanding.
@ Im super excited! Looks like I’ll be in the April batch. I’m in Minnesota so no rush 😂
Yeah it goes tiny :)
J’ai hâte de recevoir la mienne qui devrait pas tarder à arriver chez moi en France 🇫🇷
Cant wait for the solid inner now that will be a genuine game changer for ultralight 4 season tents, at 1kg i can see see it sticking it to the hillberg unna at half the weight and half the price for sure
first time buying a tent but can't decide with some category. what's the difference between standard and solid, standard and short pole?
The regular inner is mostly mesh with a bit of solid fabric about the bottom. It's a good balance, whereas the solid inner is all solid fabric which is more for cold areas and winter.
The poles are identical except the short poles have more folds in them to pack shorter (but this makes them about 30g heavier).
I wish I had this when I was in the military would have save so many times pitching in the rain 😅
I love this brand
Thanks for the kind words!
- Dan
Great design! May you do a video on packing your dyneema tents?
If I order this tent right now with the solid inner that can be delivered in April. Will it have the extra guyout points lower on the legs? as talked about in Justin Outdoors wind testing video?
Yes
Why am I so excited about a tent lol
When motorcycle camping I would always bring my (now obsolete) free standing dome tent AND the rainfly from my hammock tent because it was so quick and easy to setup for a little shelter from the wet weather. I will be leaving it home on my next trip and plan to use the X-Dome fly for that purpose. Love the fly-first and fly solo option! Is there a secret handshake someone is going to teach me at some point?
You'll get a knock on the door soon ;)
What happens if you have the inner pitched first and then you want to throw on the rain fly? Is that not possible?
We show this in our pitching guide video for the X-Dome. You can unclip the inner and add the fly over top.
@ is this not the pitching guide video? I didn’t see that part
@@xSamDGK Whoops....yeah. My mistake. I describe the process at 7:23 but we don't actually show it.
I hope the next batch (mine) arrives before April 🤞🤞 🇦🇺. April so far away.

Waiting for the X-Dome 2 to release
Thanks for your interest. We have a email notification list on our website you can join to be notified when the X-Dome 2 launches.
@@durstongear Great just signed up any idea when it will be released or and about date/
@@SurvivalSavvvy first half of 2025 in theory
Great video and great looking tent. Any guesstimations on the approx weight and strength of the 2 person compared to this model? Cheers
The 2P will be similar sturdiness. We won't release the weight until the launch in a few months, but 2P tents are normally about 25% heavier.
Hey - This looks very much equal to how to pitch the Big Agnes - Copper Spur HV UL1 - - nice tent and both the best :)
Nice. Yes the 2P will fit two wide pads. Thanks for using our gear.
- Dan
My tent buying days are some years gone, alas, but I want to buy this in the 2p anyway. Thanks.
@@durstongear Thanks for the info 👍very interesting pole design!
My tent is getting delivered tomorrow! I can’t wait! I didn’t order it with stakes, to save a bit of money. Instead I put some in my wishlist for Christmas. Would 6.5” titanium Shepards hook stakes work fine for this tent?
Yeah those stakes should be fine as long as the soil isn't too soft/sandy. Have fun!
Awesome setup guide Dan! Mine is arriving tomorrow 🏕️👍🏻
Thanks!
Yeah this seems kinda annoying tbh. Macpac microlight has a system you could draw inspiration from.
The groundsheet clips to the floor corners. You can clip it to the bit of webbing there.
Dude, April can't come fast enough... 😅
With the trekking poles added to brace the tent, do you think it could support like a foot of snow overnight?
Yes it can do that. We have tested it to 40 lbs of roof weight which is about 18L of water or 180L/45 gallons of snow at a typical 10:1 ratio.
Hi. Are you planning on making this with a solid inner tent? With maybe double door (mesh+solid)?
The tent looks amazing and I really want one but I’m not a huge fan of the full mesh inner tent.
We are going to have a solid inner version announced in a few months. Thanks for the kind words.
- Dan
I read alot about x-domes being on their way in the US. Any Updates for the peepz in germany? Can't wait to try it out.
We have them about 70% now. The rest should go out on Mon-Tues.
@durstongear thanks for the answer!
Thanks that’s great.
The tent seem incredible! I really want one haha But I wonder, i'm 6'3", is the tent tall enought?
It is several inches longer than the typical 1P tent, since the length when laying straight is about the same but here you can lay diagonal for about 4 more inches. So on average we find people are happy to about 6'4". So hard to say but it could work well for you. It depends on your preferences and how bulky your sleep setup is.
@Dan @durston, is there a bike packing shorter pole set coming out ? When will that be please?
Yes we are working on this. I hope to have it before summer.
Is there a way to guy out the pole frame before connecting the fly and inner? I'm saving for this tent!
Nice tent. May I ask if there is any specific reason to have a single door?
There are pros and cons. Our X-Mid 1 has dual doors but with the freestanding tent we had the opportunity to expand the floor to fill the back vestibule (since there is no trekking pole in the way). This creates more floor space while hardly adding weight (since it avoids more zippers) but does mean there isn't a second door and vestibule. So more floor area but only one door is the trade off.
@@durstongear So, the trade off works the same for the X-Dome 1+. Thanks for the detailed explanation.
I can't wait for this tent to be released in the Pro version. Please Dan, could you offer it in different Dyneema colors when you do so? That would be amazing! :) It will be the ultimate shelter, so exciting!
Thank You Sir! Very Thorough As Usual! 🤍
Ouch. Sorry to hear about that. Yes you can patch it easily. Check out the tent repair article on our website.
@@durstongear Cheers Dan 👍 The X Dome is Ace and i am really looking forward to the solid inner,
6:19 Oh, maybe I don't need those double door layers as much as I thought. 🙂
Hi Dan. Tent looks great. Are the z-flick poles compatible with this?
It would be good to add a rubber boot to the end so they fit better in the handle cup, and then they will work fine.
@@durstongear thanks Dan. I think I might do that anyway for using with me xmid. Will have a think about this one
How easy is it to attach the groundsheet before/after pitching? Where does it connect to?
It clips to the webbing at the 4 corners of the floor. It is quite easy. If it is not windy, you can tip the tent on it's side and clip it on. If it is windy, then slide it under.
When are we able to buy standalone inners?
Hopefully in the spring
My FOMO is getting bigger with all those small attentions to detail being revealed. I want one badly now despite being content and happy with my X-mid.
A question to @Durstongear
If a pole section should break or fail, how do you fix that on the go? Will there be a replacement pole/repair kit included or something more clever?
You can replace a section if you have a spare. We will also have a repair sleeve in a few months.
Do you need to fold it or can it be stuffed back into bag? Feel like I have been taught to stuff and not fold over the years!
Stuffing it is fine. Either is fine with silpoly.
You mention the number of guy out points varies depending on the model... Makes me hopeful the solid version will be more stormworthy
The regular version does very well for an ultralight tent but we are always working to improve.
Durston, can we get a video of this tent in some wind or on a trailer towed to simulate wind. I’m 10,000% confident in this tent but keep hearing people with little or some worrying about the vertical walls in the wind. I think this would really shut those comments down.
If you search for Andrew Beavers on TH-cam he just posted a video of it high winds and snow.

@@durstongear heading there now.
@@durstongear wow, nice work. That thing is bomber.
@@LongbowAdam :)
Would you say this is your most snow resistant tent (with the trekking poles added), or would that be one of the Mid designs?
Without the trekking poles the X-Dome and X-Mid are pretty similar (assuming they are pitched well). If you add the optional trekking poles to the X-Dome then it is strongest of all. It can do major snow loads like that. We have tested it to 40 lbs on the roof, which is about 180L or 50 gallons of snow.
Does it fit a 73 by 26 inch pad? This will be the dimensions of the new therm a rest neoloft sleeping pad
Yes that fits fine. The tent is 27" at the very extreme end and quickly tapers wider from there, so it has lots of room for that.
I think I may ask Santa for one of these!!
@durstongear thanks for the reply Dan. Very much appreciated 👍
Take my money!
