Zora is probably my favorite character in the series besides Yami. Plus they got Johnny Yong Bosh to do the English version of his voice so that was a plus

He does Zora's voice so well too. It's the perfect amount of arrogance and sort of a sadistic tone that Zora has at first. Reminds me of how he did Adachi from Persona 4
Noelle is one of the better written female shonen characters. It was awesome when she took Vettos arm and she's amazing in the manga.

Nami and Robin are great, but Oda has reduced them to support character post timeskip. Noelle is already one of the most powerful attack mages in the series. Shout out to Mereoleona too she's badass as hell.
At the moment I find Noelle really annoying and hope she gets better
Two of my favorite quotes from this series involve Noelle "Being weak is nothing to be ashamed of, but staying weak is" and "Because I've been acknowledged by much greater people!!" damn I love this series

Noelle has become of my favorite characters in the series. She starts off as kind of one dimensional but develops a lot. Kind of like the series itself

Btw all upper class families aren’t the royals the only royal families are the vermillion, silva and clover( the kings) family- these 3 families have much more mana than peasants and quite a lot more than other noble families like the vaude, roselei and novachrono etc.
This is why the 3 royal families are the only ones that live in the kings palace

Noelle is my favorite female in any shonen, like I like Robin and Nami, and Rukia was cool, but Noelle is number 1 for me!

if im being honest. what first caught my attention to black clover was two things actually.
first i was desperate to hope that there would be a shonen that actually did what fairy tail could not bring itself to do. the second was yami

@@Gruntpla in my eyes fairy tail more or less refused to do two fundamental things. Progress and evolve characters as well as properly develop and explore its world and setting. Characters were not allowed to grow and change much over time, if at all and when it looked like that might happen and a tangible change might actually be felt in the world and greater story, it turned around and subverted a lot of its own progress and by extension effectively rendered it meaningless. It was too afraid to let important people lose, the world was entropic and static, only ever changing or even elaborated on to create short term plot devices and as a result it should only be regarded as a poorly thought out, static power fantasy that has little to no creative ability or literary skill backing it. Reading it was one of the most phenomenally frustrating wastes of time i've ever subjected myself to and i highly encourage anybody who hasnt read it or watched it to stay as far away from it as possible
Agan Mardrus After reading and watching the show I can’t disagree with any of that. There is a bit a world building in the beginning but it’s nothing too substantial. Totally agree about important characters never losing ( Natsu and Erza) , that really got on my nerves. After a while I just stopped seeing it the same way I do most other shounen and took it for what it was. A chill, trope heavy story, with an inevitably happy ending . I enjoy it more that way but I agree it’s very flawed.

Noelle is my favorite.
She is shown to be very powerful and lack control rather than being weak and never getting stronger like Sakura or any other weakling character that gets left behind.
Also, Water Dragon and bathing scene help.
Facts
Sakura did get stronger, she had poor writing that made her appear weaker compared to sasuke and Naruto. Plus she wasnt incarnate or come from a powerful bloodline.
Yet she was able to surpass Tsunade in terms of skill.

8:07 it does make sense because royals look down upon people who work hard at something. The nobles knew that even if she could manage to control her magic, it would come at the price of effort. That’s why Mimosa told Noelle that she respects her for working hard despite being a noble.

I try with anime and i still on 17th ep but when i start reading manga i read 13 volumes in three days. Love art and amount of action in it. Characters are hilarious. Love them.

Noelle did completely wrecked solid at the Royal magic exam
Her siblings treating her bad for lack of control makes a little sense. Her not having control of her magic is equivalent to not being able to walk properly since in Black Clover, people are born with magic.
Also, if nervousness was super important to control then Grey wouldn’t have any control.

I cant really think of many good female shonen protagonists. Besides like Noelle and Raphtalia from shield hero and maybe a couple others like the major from ghost in the shell

But this is just shonen jump, if this was all in anime, noelle would be somewhere in top 25 I think.

2:48 Noelle does not use her wand to augment her power, Tekk, but to control it. Without the wand her powers get wild and she is unable to control her attacks or even to aim at her target. I believe her wand was even said to limit her powers a little bit, and that's why while wielding it she has a better control

21:51 I maybe the only one, but I still never made the connection with Naruto and Black Clover. I just saw basic anime cliche in the beginning, but not a copy of Naruto. I can't say about Fairy Tail because I never got into it
Agree, there are similarities between other shounen. But not one not one other stories I can read in the replacemant of Black Clover that will be the same story. Which i can't say for other. Like for example My Hero Academia i can replace with Ratman manga. (Actually i prefer Ratman more).
maybe in terms of common shounen underdog goals like:
naruto wished to be hokage
luffy wished to be pirate king
deku wished to be no.1 hero
asta wished to be wizard king
..aside from that, the plot i agree, that they're different from one another..

Personally, I don’t think I’ll ever forgive Nozel for the things he’s said. He was told to protect his sister and when he sees that she’s having trouble controlling her magic rather than helping her he completely dismissed her and tells her it would’ve been better she died. WTF?!?!?!
He didn't want her on the battlefield so he told her not to participate and slid her off to the black bulls through a backdoor pass, he didn't really like her but he didn't want her to die because she reminded him of his mother.
Then why not just forbid Noelle from joining any of the Magic Knight squads? Or rather, train her himself when he sees that she’s struggling instead of repeatedly saying things like “Why couldn’t it have been you who died instead of our mother?” And on top of that he never even tells Noelle about their mother and she has to hear about her from Mereoleona. I’m sorry, but it’s gonna take more than a half-assed apology for him to be forgiven by me.
@@TimToonsTalks he wanted to shatter her fighting spirit so why would he train her? He apologized for what he said to her and that took a lot considering that he had the most time with his mom and felt the most anguish out of any of his siblings.
I’m sorry, but his apology didn’t look all that sincere to me. And again, it’ll take more than one apology to forgive years of verbal abuse.

I'm still reading Black Clover, but I can't really say its something that excites me to read every week. I never leave a chapter the way I leave other Shonen titles. (Excited and ready for more. With something that stays in my mind until the next release.) I see its potential, and something about it keeps bring me back every week.

Noelle as like a character, I like the growth. Like she stands up to herself against her siblings. And her friendship with mimosa I like. But her tsundere moments... It's just that I just want her to be honest with herself about her feelings about Asta to herself. It's not like I want her to confess or anything, I just want her to not keep lying to herself, and force convincing herself that she is not in love. Just be honest with yourself at least, girl.

Hey Tekking I like the fact that youre diving into other series other than OP and Bleach. I wanna ask or rather suggest you check out Hitman Reborn, I get a feeling you might like that show. It starts really slow though, takes about 20 episodes to get some actual action and about 70 episodes to actually use a power system but it's a fun show
