    Brilliant, you asked questions that lead Desmond to reveal a lot more of his past experiences that impacted on his and his ex wife life which resulted this book. An amazing couple who happened to be at the right time, the right place and met all the right people at the concealed communist highest ranking hierarchy, how destiny played out. If they were in any democratic society, they would have been considered the crème de la crème’s, still. Thank you.

    Desmond is a brave man. I admire his courage to tell the story. Frankly, his wife's detention is part of the game. S he was on the wrong side of the game after regime change. She must have known some dark secrets and needed to be silenced. Desmond took a gamble to reveal the story and at least she had some form of freedom now but I doubt she can leave China anytime soon. I wish the family well.

    He was originally a male nanny in his wife's family, and then cheated his employer's feelings and money. At that time, because no matter how to suppress the financial stability of Hong Kong, China, international capital let him personally participate in and promote the student movement in Hong Kong. He transferred foreign capital and financial money from the grey industry in Hong Kong to Japan, Singapore, the United States, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, etc., through sports fraud, and then harvested financial capital in Wall Street. Police officers guiding Hong Kong were injured while maintaining order empty-handed, resulting in street cleaners being burned to death by firebombs. Many investors lost their money

    I am reading it and from the book, I believe Shum cares nothing but his personal success. He mentioned a person's disappearance without charge at the end of the Chapter 10, but he was kind of happy for eventually having a new manager to sigh documents for his project. When he wrote the Chapter, his ex-wife has already been experiencing the same: disappeared without charge which is about the CCP's RSDL, Residential Surveillance at a Designated Location, black jail, but it doesn't matter to him except speaking of his ex-wife. Also, if the CCP didn't get fact to charge his ex-wife, his book provided many evidence for this purpose. He looks sincere in the video but I don't know if he has some other purpose or not, to be honest.

    • @snowin4617
      @snowin4617 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      The government can charge her anything without even knowing any facts, which I would assume there is nothing they do not know when they have that kind of control over anything and anyone. That’s how the system works, as you can read many cases of political officials and their relatives. What kind of purpose he can have when he puts his life, and his family’s lives on the line to publish this book?
      If he doesn’t speak up, he will probably one day disappear like his ex-wife if the government wants so, and many more people will end up with the same mysterious disappearance due to their potential political impacts on the Party’s power.

They committed crimes to take a lot of people’s chances, when it’s time for them to pay, they just bad mouthed the system. Why cannot they admit they were a part of it and pay for what they did.
