    Tried this recipe today and absolutely loved it. As a family that isn't used to eating mackrel, we took a risk on this one, but after today, we're going to be using this recipe a lot more.

    Tasty fish curry from Udupi/Mangalore region. Crush some garlic pods in 1-2tsp of coconut oil and add this at the last and close the lid for a few seconds. Taste of this curry will go to the next level. My grandma used to do this.

    Hi , I am getting a brownish color texture to my paste, how many red chillies ? Or can I add red chili powder for getting the red color?

    • @latheshsalian7592
      @latheshsalian7592 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's because of the chilly you are using. Try using byadgi chillies or Kashmiri chillies (pick up any chilli with lots of creases on it). Even though they look dull in color, once you grind them they will be bright red.

    • @latheshsalian7592
      @latheshsalian7592 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also do not use chilli powder, it doesn't taste the same. Byadgi and Kashmiri chillies when roasted and ground gives a color and flavor which can't be alternated with powder. And these chillies aren't spicy either so you can add a lot

    • @anujoybardhan
      @anujoybardhan 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@latheshsalian7592 thank you , correct I didn't use that bedgi chilli. Next time I will use bedgi or kashmiri as you suggested. The taste was good none the less only color I got brownish instead of red and then I added some kashmiri chilli powder but still color wasn't like in the video.
